For a place that's supposed to really care about people's recovery this place does quite the opposite, they will throw you out to the wolves knowing that half of their clients are not from around here , their is some staff that are actually there because they want to help people but there's too many of them that don't like their job and they're express it in every thing they do on a daily basis. They are supposed to be a medical detox but they don't get your medication for as much as 4 to 5 days into your detox so at that point you might as well not even take the medication because you already got through the hardest part cold turkey. Management, (sal) is very professional but is unfit for the job in my opinion , he's not friendly and he's not a fair person The saddest thing about this place is that the most important thing to them is how much and how long your insurance will pay them and according to that , that's how long they will keep you . i was kicked out for defending myself and was told I could come back in 6 hours if I went and used , with them knowing my drug of choice could kill me , but after everything was said and done I used and tried to come back and was still denied because they only wanted to listen to one persons side of the story and not even give me a chance to explain my side , at the end of the day anyone in my situation would have done the same thing I did which was defend myself because obviously staff themselves weren't going to do it . read more

Unless you are severity financially unstable do not go here. Men with their shirt off catcalling me and men fighting constantly. As a 115 pound women I was frightened. Not a safe environment especially if you want to bring nice belongings like lululemons I has no instructions, no help, they drugged me up the first night and just left me. I medically I had a room next to a smoker area there was no respite just contact chatter about cigarettes. No care was given I received no food. This is the worst treatment facility I have ever seen. The staff are very abusive; mentally and emotionally. They pay people to be in the program and pay them to relapse at end of program. If you call them out while you are there, they make your stay horrific. They personally had a couple attack me by telling them false things. I have never ever experienced what I had experienced here. I'm not proud of the fact I have been to 15+ treatments, but I have, and I can say this is the worst ever. Today through the help of my wonderful sponsor and amazing friend I have almost 3 months sober. This place caused me so much trauma it has taken me awhile to get through it. I was looking up a local behavioral health facility for my loved one and this place had an ad to call Admissions for that local facility. After talking for a few moments they proposed putting her on a plane and flying her here. They didn't care to try to determine what she needed; they only wanted their "finders fee". Not until the very end of the call did I find out they worked for Resurgence. Predatory marketing, lies, arrogance and rudeness marked Anthony's approach and Mark lied. I worked for Sea Change Recovery for about 4 years before Bettersoul (aka Resurgence) took over the company. The company (owners Steve & Jamie) are extremely cheap from the food provided to the lack of maintenance of the homes and plenty of other financial things. They turned this place into a pump and dump to make as much money as possible before getting shut down which happened only a few months ago. They "allowed" some clients to continue getting high in our facility multiple times despite me providing concrete evidence and I eventually got terminated because I kept complaining about all the illegal & unethical things they were doing. They allowed a female client admit to the facility without being searched AT ALL because we only had male staff on site which they were 100% aware of but let her admit anyway. I thought she was dead on the floor when I came into work the following day but was luckily able to get her up. They basically held clients "hostage" whenever someone wanted to leave and wouldn't provide any help getting back home when they were out of state. Whether it be they just wanted to leave because they place sucked or if they had an emergency back home like a family member in the hospital. There was a sexual assault incident between 2 clients that they didn't handle. They allowed the client to stay and after a week of constantly complaining they finally gave me the okay to transfer him out. As I said they are very cheap so we were understaffed majority of the time and when we did get new hires they either quit because it sucked or they got high on the job. One employee in particular was allegedly housing and sleeping with a former client of ours from a few months prior and when management was notified they "investigated" then continued to let him work there. These people do not know how to run a business nor do they actually care about the clients at all. Some clients waited 3-5 days before receiving any medications. read more

First off, im writing this review not only as a family member of a consumer, but a director of an intensive outpatient facility who understand the business and programmatic aspect of running a mental health facility. Secondly, this was our second time at resurgence. The first experience was mediocre where the therapist there constantly canceled/rescheduled for individual therapy and yes, it was during covid, so many groups and activities were scaled back. Not the agency's fault. When i found their LA site under a different name and contacted them, i was immediately hesitant in continuing with them when i found out it was resurgence but i was informed that they had a new director, new mental health program, essentially everything that we needed that wasn't strictly substance use. The assessment process was a joke where they had a non clinical staff fumbling thru trying to ask clinical questions. Still i tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. There were insurance issues which again was not their fault but they began to move around my family member to a different program and ultimately ended up discharging him with hardly any notice to him and ZERO notice to his support system that would be providing support to him upon release. I might add, bc i work in the field and i know how difficult it is when you have family members overstepping tx boundaries, i was only in contact with the therapist 3x the whole month he was there and really tried to respect their tx boundaries; and they had reached out to me for support for my family member's tx. They transferred him another agency and when requested a call to discuss transition of care and express concern and disappointment in the 2 transitions they put him thru in one month and how those transitions occurred, i was met with hostile tone placing blame on my family member and his lack of engagement. Yes he has to take responsibility for his treatment but isnt that why he's in tx...? Bc he has a mental illness and is an addict? There was mention of family sessions at the beginning of his tx but no follow through and essentially no opportunities for his support system to work with the tx team to ensure proper engagement could occur. I have reached out 2x the day he was getting discharged and requested the clinical director, Gil Carmona, who according to his staff makes all the clinical decisions, call me back and my family member was discharged and transferred without a call or update still. It's very disappointing the lack of continuity of care and unwillingness to incorporate additional support systems to the recovering individual's wellness on this agency's part. I dont understand why there is such resistance to addressing the concerns of their consumers. My experience with them is one of bad client care. i definitely do not recommend this agency. One of the best facilities in Orange County. Always holds itself to the highest of ethical standards. Staff goes above an beyond for the clients. Unlike most facilities now-a-days, staff are caring, and only want the best for all the clients; even the owner comes and is an active part in the clients recovery. Facility offers multiple types of therapeutic activities such as yoga, art therapy, gym and wellness, music therapy, and much more. Clients are taken out on weekly outings; the beach, bowling, movies, etc. Staff assists clients in assimilating back into the community and becoming working members in society; aiding in resume building, job hunting, going to DMV, and GR (if needed). The wellbeing of the clients is the #1 priority at Resurgence California. read more

Do not send your loved ones here... this was the biggest waste of time and money!! They are only out to get your money not to help. All the good reviews are from the patients that now work there. They don't even have group or meetings daily but will have patients sign a paper saying they had group. At first they will go above and beyond to get the patient there. It's a business...they see $$. funny the counselor that helped me get my son in I asked how long he was clean first it was 13 months than a year he wasn't quite sure. You would think if you celebrated a year of sobriety or you are about you would remember? Right?? My son wanted to be transferred because he knew he wasn't getting the help he needed. The other place was all ready for door to door transfer. Resurgence sabotaged that so the other place wouldn't take him after all. If they wanted your loved one to get help why in the hell would they do that? They wanted the money for them clearly!! My son also snuck in a weed pen. They put the blame on the wrong person! They should have been watching the patients instead of blaming. I went to have a counseling session and the counselor made me wait for her for almost 30 mins while she was bullshitting with a coworker. Really???? A horrible experience, if you are looking for real help please look else where, there are many good places you really have to look. Because it may look great at the beginning. Lastly they held my sons belongings hostage. Until they were ready to give them up.when my son arrives the bus rolls up with the patients my son said what's up and all the patients had turned on him and were threatening him with gun hand motions saying pow pow calling him a rat and one spit on him saying my son ratted them out for also having a weed pen. The staff apparently told them my son Ratted them out. Wow is all is all I can say! Not a good place at all! Very very disappointing!!! read more

I have struggled with addiction for 21 years and been to 4 other treatment centers along the way and I have never received the knowledge,, respect,, best living environment,, great staff members while I was there,, how to process my sober way of living,, great therapy,, all my personal needs met,, in-depth classes,, true concern from the whole staff,, awesome outings,, respectful to your growth in sobriety and great placement for aftercare.. A family member was here for a week. Going in, she said a week and they agreed. When the week was about over, they tried for more time. When that didn't work...well, lets just say they took it out on her..treated her horribly! Lied about a lot...didn't do what they claimed to do. Then...had the gall to call and see if she would do out patient with them! They are lucky we didn't sue them! It seemed to be more about money to them, than truly caring about the client. "First off, I waited a while to calm down before writing a review so I was 100% honest and not writing from emotions" This place is a Scam, I sent my wife here to get help, the airline lost her baggage "which I know is not the facilities fault", but she was 3 days without a change of clothes or decent shampoo or body wash. When she called me about it, I contacted the only person I could at the facility. They didn't seem to have a fix to the solution other than to agree to let another case manager from a totally different rehab bring her a change of clothes. I thought I had it set up to get daily updates on her progress, which I never got. The first time I got to talk to her was about not having a change of clothes after 3 days. The next call was not much better. She was trying to talk in code to me, to let me know it was a flop house. This got me to start reading reviews and everything she was trying to tell me was confirmed from other reviews... No AC, Horrible care, Food not eatable etc... I reached to the other facility that I was looking at when we made the decision to send her here. They informed me that they did not want to deal with us because the person that set us up with Resurgence sent them a nasty email saying that "if they contacted THEIR client again that they would kill him and burn down his building" I was running out of options, so I contacted the facility that agreed to take her a change of clothes if needed and was recommended another rehab that was in our insurance plan an hour away. The admissions lady asked me to contact my insurance provider to make sure if my wife had to go AMA that they would allow her to move to another rehab. When I explained all that happened to the insurance contact, she asked for the number to where my wife was at. I told her that I had called all week with no answer or voicemail option. Well, they answered the insurance company "caller ID I guess" she asked to speak with my wife, they put her on hold for 5 minutes, hung up on her, and then blocked her number. The insurance contact told me in her opinion I needed to move my wife ASAP. I got in touch with the guy that set her up there. This time I was a little more hostile about talking to my wife, normally he would say I will text the facility and she will call you back, which she never did. This time she did call me a few minutes later and they made her talk to me on speaker phone, I was very upset that I had no privacy to see if she wanted/needed to move facilities. I got loud enough to where they did turn off the speaker phone. I explained to her that I had set her up at another rehab and to pack her bags. I 3 way called the admissions lady from the new place because they had to ask her permission to send a driver to her. Resurgence figured out we were talking to another facility and hung up on us after telling me that I was not going to use their phone line to set up another rehab, I said let her have her phone then, they said not until she left their property. A few minutes later I received a text from someone there telling me that after talking to my wife she didn't think she really wanted to leave. I found out later that they were telling her that I was telling them that I had changed my mind and wanted her to stay there. I got a call from her once she was in the car headed to the new facility. Thats when she could talk freely to me. She told me that as she was leaving the staff inside told her "Your husband is a real jerk and a dick head" She asked for her medicine to transfer to the new facility "we were told since she just had the detox meds filled, they would not be able to refill them unless they were allowed to do a door-to-door transfer, which they just said, wasn't going to happen. She then asked for her seizure medicines, BP meds and other meds that she brought from home. Their reply was "what part of your not getting any of your F'ing meds don't you understand?!" She is in a great facility now, I get daily updates from her case manager, she is doing so much better, I did get to talk to her yesterday and found out that when she left resurgence, they kept her perfumes "which I had just bought her 2 weeks ago" $200 down the drain I guess and a handful of other items, cigarettes and vapes. That stuff is replaceable, I'm more concerned with her recovery. If needed please contact me on here and I can confirm everything I just wrote, I kept all text messages. After writing this all out, I can feel the anger again. read more

I came to Ressurgance in October of 2022 and stayed for the 30 day residential program for alcohol and drug addiction in a women's home. To put it simply, the program helped me understand my addiction, get sober, and turn my life around. I was able to participate in daily therapy groups and activities which helped educate me while being able to learn what joy was again. My program director Lauren was so supportive of me and all of the girls and held amazing, meditative groups. My technicians, Kaitlyn, Carinna, and Josie gracefully helped me with all my needs and care throughout the day and evening. And my case manager, Trish, was unbelievably helpful to my recovery. She gave me nothing but care and support to put me back on the right track in my life. Without the help of this program and especially these amazing women I would not be currently 4 months sober and with a new career. I highly recommend Ressurgance. read more

Unfortunately we had do have out son admitted to a rehab for his opiate addiction. Pacific Manor Recovery was absolutely awful. My son did not receive any of the services that PMR claims to provide. After 30 days of treatment they discharged him. He was no where close to being ready to go. This was an absolute failure. Please please please do your research before choosing a place to send a loved one for help. Do not send them to Pacific Manor Recovery. The facility and neighborhood are a disaster. The staff is horrible at communicating. The Dr. should lose her license for prescribing an incorrect dose of medication and causing an emergency situation which required a 911 call and transport of my son to the ER. read more

I have so many negative things to write about this place. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The communication between the staff and the higher ups is shit. It takes asking at least 5 times for them to finally do something. I was lied to NUMEROUS times by so many staff members, just to get me to stay. The food is shit. The groups are a joke, they just want the insurance money. It's a business, and only 1 person there showed that they care. My whole house with other clients all were about to walk out for these reasons.so it's not just me. Everyone that was a client there with me had something negative to say. Btw when I did go tell them that I'm leaving and had all my stuff packed and I just need my keys and phone and wallet (cuz they hold onto that) they told me they don't have access to the safe that my phone is in (huge lie) That only one person had that safe code and wasn't coming back until 2 days later. And also said that my keys were at the corporate office (another lie). Little did they know I saw my keys in the bag earlier that day and I grabbed them for that reason, and then the next day when they grabbed my phone, some random support staff guy opened the safe w no problem! read more

The staff here is so caring. If you need something done such as a letter to a probation officer or assistance with getting disability while in there care, the case manager can help you. The therapist are awesome and super friendly. They always have fun activities to go to and the chef makes amazing food! Recommended to anyone that is seeking help in a family type environment. read more

If I could give less than one star, I would. Do NOT go here or send your loved ones here. They lie to from the second they get you into the phone telling you whatever you wanna here to get you there. In my case, my fiancé called them on the 2nd and they had him a plane ticket to leave for the 3rd that they paid for. Assured not only me, but his father as well, that if my fiancé wanted to leave at anytime he could and they would pay for his ticket back home. They promised they would keep us updated on his progression and I was listed as his emergency contact if anything happened. I did not receive any updates or communication during an emergency. 3 days in their care, he started hallucinating due to the medication they had him on. They supposedly took him to the er where they left him alone long enough for him to rip his iv out, discharge himself, and leave without them knowing for another hour or so. Not once was I contacted to be told what was going on. I only found out because I hadn't heard from my fiancé for 2 days and was worried. Mind you, he was still hallucinating when he supposedly discharged himself. Their solution was to send ONE person to search for him. I stayed up all night calling places to see if he had been arrested or anything. The next morning, I found him in a psych ward. Still hallucinating. Didn't know where he was or that I was his fiancé. The entire time this was going on the staff were just lying and trying to cover their asses. His father and I were told multiple different stories of what happened. In the time my fiancé was in the psych ward once he got the meds out of his system and was himself again he maintained he wanted to come home. We finally got him back to the rehab on the 11th. On the 12th my fiancé, his father, and me were all on the same page on getting him back home. Richard Sanchez, who is the person who got my fiancé into this rehab spent all day spinning lies to me, my fiancé, and his father. Told me that he and his father agreed that he should stay at the rehab instead of coming home and when I disagreed because I had spoken to both of them today, he started belittling me and blaming me for my fiancés addiction and saying I was controlling him. I hung up and called my fiancés father and asked him if he was on board with his son staying at the rehab, he of course said no, he wanted him home but that it was ultimately up to his son. So we got in contact with my fiancé again and asked what he wanted to do and he said he wanted to come home but he felt like he was stuck there. So we contacted Richard, who as stated above had told all of us he could leave whenever he wanted and they would pay for the ticket. Richard then said he couldn't pay for the ticket unless he stayed another 2 weeks. So we booked a flight ourselves. After my fiancé left the facility and was on the way to the airport, he and I were talking about what lies had been told and whatnot. Richard told my fiancé that me not being on board with him staying there was a red flag and asked him if he was sure if he really wanted to come back home to me. I have never in my life been so upset with a facility that is supposed to help people. This was nothing but money hungry people who don't care about the families of the people they take into their care. I am so happy we got him out of there and we can now continue his rehabilitation in a facility that actually cares. Again. DO NOT GO HERE AND DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. read more

This review is not about the staff or capabilities of this rehab... this is about the fact that we were looking for a rehab for our son in order to detox him off of methadone fentanyl and benzo's. We were assured that this facility, which is owned through resurgence behavioral health, would do a methadone taper. In addition, we were told this would be in a home environment and we were specifically told it was a "luxury" rehab. We've been to dozens of rehabs and I am certain you could get clean anywhere. But we drove into this neighborhood which was completely dilapidated, the facility itself looks like in abandoned old apartment building that's being used as a rehab, windows were off the tracks, there's a trailer park across the street and everything is surrounded by chain-link fences. It was nothing like we had been told. Inside, it was very reminiscent of an old hospital with white walls and nothing else. The staff was welcoming and assured us that they all have had experience in their own recovery. I have no doubt that they may be able to deliver what they said, but the kicker was that they do not taper off of methadone. They offer something called a codeine bridge. The entire experience felt like a bait and switch. The facility felt like a county run type facility, not one through private pay health insurance. If we had been told exactly what to expect, in treatment and atmosphere, we wouldn't have had such a visceral reaction to the entire thing. When you're dealing with addiction there's enough lies already, that you don't need the lies also coming from the rehab admissions people! So disappointing. read more

I have nothing but gratitude and praise for the treatment I received. The staff was always very attentive and went above and beyond to meet all of our needs. I never dreamed this opportunity was available for a sober life. It was so easy to achieve sobriety with the tools and therapy I received. My life has been changed in such a positive way that I'm forever grateful. The diversity in groups and therapy approaches were always individualized. One of the most pointless recovery centers I've been to. They accepted us and discharged us 24 days after being there for no reason. Then, instead of letting us stay in our sober living until the next morning when we could get into another program, they kicked us out. Didn't give us our meds once we discharged either (which can be dangerous to an addict, when they miss their dose of suboxone). I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more
