If you want to get clean and sober? Find a rehab! I went through there 22 years ago I'm still clean and sober, with no help from them. 22 years ago I made some mistakes. I had no aftercare no support from them whatsoever. I've actually seen staff stumbling out of bars!! I have to wonder is this still a prison release program? They'd been trying to get inmates into rehab!! read more

This place helped out 4 of my friends that where in dire need of immediate help. Sometimes they are so swamped with people needing help, there is waiting period. When we got them in could see the hope in their eyes starting to show. They where ready to change and accepted anything they offered them here to change their life's! It's hard to rate a facility like this. its the same as rating a doctor. You have good outcomes and bad outcomes. It all depends on the patients will, to get help. Where the same treatment for one person is successful, for another it may not fully work. Nevertheless treatments here are wonderful and have been developed tru years of experience, Treatment is better than no treatment, and waiting for the end. Without even trying to fight. The case worker for my family member is very concerned regarding treatment & sobriety for TWO illnesses that needed to b addtesses. They want family members to involved in the treatment for support. It's been 14 years today since I walked through the doors of Cedar House. Still clean and sober, tomorrow is my Sobriety Birthday. I'm sure some things have changed in that time frame but the desire to help those suffering from the disease of addiction is probably just a strong as ever. With all these money hungry businesses & rehabilitation centers, it is SO refreshing to know that there are still places out there where helping people and making a difference remains their #1 goal!!! Cedar House being one of them! As easy going as I am, I have NEVER been able to officially say that every single person apart of an organization like this had all been great friendly & warm people.... until I came to Cedar House . Every single nurse, staff member (ANGIE, LINDA & HER SISTER), counselor, management, ladies at the front desk (PATTY ESPECIALLY) ... They ALL truly exceeded my expectations !! As a client, when you are abruptly put into a facility to change your entire lifestyle, JUST THAT in itself can be the most draining challenge of all! Called to see what the process was to get a bed for drug abuse. Rude receptionist didn't even take the time to listen. How are you supposed to get help when they are so quick to hang up on you. I would first like to thank all staff involved but the ones who really impacted my recovery were the ones who took the time to listen and explain what exactly was the thing that kept them in recovery, and it was my brother Paul, Andrew, Cherriey,& Fred. They kept me from falling when I was pushing to fall. I didn't want to try anymore or even try and live for my family, but they were there for me. When I first got there, o couldn't stay in my bed. And even some strange black lady just putting up the bed rails mattered to me. I was very angry for a long time but they loved me no matter what. Didn't know me and I wondered what it was that made them love me till i can love myself and it was in the literature. They keep what they have by giving it away. To me, this hits deep, and Cute. I want that pay off. I love you guys so much, it doesn't seem manly, but makes me the man I am today. Thank you for being there for me and hundreds of others. One more thing, that man that's always peeking in the doors and waking me up with that log;t ("Paul") I often thought what is it with this guy, is he being annoying freaking me out, or what.? But what it was he was checking up making us safe from ourselves or eachother meaning we can flip mental and hurt ourselves or someone else and that's not cool.
