I have been coming to Integra for different issues since 2016. I started coming when I had bad back…read morepain while pregnant with my youngest child. I was certain I had a slipped disc or something, but the doctor recommended physical therapy. I was skeptical, but determined to do my due diligence. After coming for six weeks though, I am now a huge believer in PT. The therapists were able to get me relief and teach me how to do exercises that were safe for the baby and helped ease my back pain. In 2017 I came for knee issues after overtraining for the cap 10k. I came again this past year when I developed bursitis in my hip. Each time I have been injured I visit until I have consistent relief and then I discontinue therapy sessions and continue the work at home. I have only had to come the full six weeks once (that was when I was pregnant). Integra is totally cool with this because the whole point of PT is to get better. They don't pressure you to add extra unnecessary sessions. The first visit is an evaluation where they take a look at your issue, test range of motion, ask you about your pain levels and determine a treatment plan. Different injuries require different levels of treatment, more severe issues could result in multiple visits a week but most of mine have been once a week. After the eval, sessions usually consist of a 30 minute exercise session where a therapist walks you through good exercises you can do to strengthen your body in the area where you're injured and making sure you don't end up with any compensatory injuries. The second half of the session is usually some form of physical manipulation, for example, when I had bad back pain the second half was the therapist working out the tension in my upper back muscles. I would call it massage but it was not relaxing. It did, however, (eventually) result in relief of pain. I recently brought my 10 year old in for a knee injury and learned she has hyper mobile joints and weak hip adductors which can be a risk factor for injuries, so we will be working on strength and stability. Pro Nightmare. Between Owner Neil Boecking stonewalling my emails and Dr. Casey Hays inappropriate…read moreconduct this past 8/10 visit, I will not be returning as a patient. Dr. Woods from the South location adjusted my neck while it was still inflamed only two days after a rear end auto accident Dec '24. I opted to stay with Hays since then since he was less gung ho with his adjustments. The one technique I did like and get benefit from from Dr Woods holding my head, his hands shook so much, it felt very unstable and ineffective. Fast forward to Hays. This past year, I've given him the benefit of the doubt because I had no issue with him personally and the treatments themselves were effective but, this doesn't excuse his personal jabs and remarks towards me. He's commented about me not wearing underwear, made fun of my see through waist purse calling it a 'festival bag' before bringing me back for treatment and, I wish it stopped there. I had strain in my right arm from moving and a massage. He starts wringing up my arm from the wrist and when it was one pass too many near my elbow (he wrung my extensor origins by the elbows 3 times) the third time it was turning red and hurt so I pulled away saying "that's too much". There was a tech sitting by watching. His hand stayed on my arm and he didn't exactly stop pressure right away but, his knee jerk reaction was to ask me "are things ok at home"? I had to do a double take and ask "what"? He asked out in the open if anyone was grabbing me and this was a safe place here. I told him he was way out of line and expressed my willingness to leave if he wouldn't treat my wrist. He doubles down and inspected my arm for bruises saying "that looks like a bruise" on the top of my forearm (where there was none, as you can see in the photo). This is after I already explained to him I just moved and bruise easily. He goes on to talk about a past client who had been through "trauma and abuse" and that he always asks to touch since that client. He pulls me to a separate treatment room, apologizes, and further explains the how the past trauma client is his reason for being so cautious about touch. I accepted the apology and thanked him for clearing the air and that I still needed treatment on my neck. He told me HE WAS NOT "charging for today". He was rude while adjusting my neck. He didn't adjust my wrist and showed me the widget instead even though I told him it was cramping saying, it was a ligament that popped. I was shown how to adjust my own shoulder but, it was rushed. He mentioned a free cold laser treatment for my wrist. As we got to the front, he asks for my sheet and I wait. Alejandra asks how I want to pay and I explained he was waiving this visit and to check with him. She came back saying that only the laser treatment was free. I asked how long it was and she said 15-20 minutes. I told her I could do 15. I only got 8 minutes with the tech. The tech had me hold the laser and I could see the timer but, the laser was also very heavy. Dr. Casey Hays has some deep psychological issues regarding a past client and touch. I recall him asking to touch in past visits and, I even tried putting the onus on me saying my pecs were sensitive and not to touch them (because he did use too much pressure that hurt on the pecs) but, getting the help I need should NOT require going through psychological hoops, left field personal jabs and confusing checkouts. Dr. Hays: you look like you sleep under a bridge. Get help and stop projecting onto patients!

I needed care over the course of two months, and on top of seeing noticeable changes within the first two weeks because of the attention to care and exercises, I began feeling difference in my daily headaches, stiff neck, whiplash, upper and lower back pain and neck pain, and my hunching over. The entire team's dedication to care meant a lot to me. I felt hindered in multiple aspects of my life when I was injured, am finally getting back to an active lifestyle, & now have the tools I need moving forward to carry in my pocket that I learned from this team. No one ever expects an accident, & sometimes you may not know how to move forward from it. I am so thankful to Dr. Hayes and his entire team, my life genuinely has improved significantly. I couldn't thank them enough. (Dr. Haye's, Auja, Dr. Dimeko, Essence, the lovely kind Front Desk receptionists, were all fantastic and made me feel at home.) If you are on the fence and aren't sure if you will find a benefit from physical therapy, I recommend swinging by the office and feeling the vibe. Home exercises that are specifically for my needs are posted on line each week, and have videos as well as written instructions. They're pretty easy to follow (though not necessarily easy for me to do ). I feel blessed to have the opportunity to be at Symmetry and especially to work with Brad. Even though it's sometimes hard work, I actually look forward to the sessions.
