We had a great experience with Brian and his crew after a recent finished basement flood. They were the quickest to respond and worked with me to find a solution that fit my needs (in my case some DIY work that saved a bit of money). Each tech that came to the house over the 2 week period was extremely polite and helpful. They did a great job of explaining options without pressure or upselling me and the showed up when they said they would. Brian was very available throughout the process and, most of all, when all was said and done I got a bill that reflected exactly what he and I had agreed on. Came on time and did a thorough inspection of the project. Answered all my questions. They would not give me a quote on site ( or even a range) which I have come to discover us usually a sign for trouble. Got a quote two days later for three times what I was expecting or what I ended up paying. Honestly I think maybe they thought we were going through our insurance and decides to take us to town on the price. With this economy it is in everyone's best interest to provide the best price for the job and these guys did not do that. I gave two stars because they were on time and friendly, but I guess I would be friendly to if I knew I was going to charge them 1k over what the next people would. read more

By far, the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. The quality of their restoration work is poor - cabinet doors that don't align, 2 inch gaps between the dishwasher and countertop, bent water valves requiring replacement by my own plumber - this list could go on and on. The poor quality of work is eclipsed only by the absolute lack of communication and customer focus. Everything is done at the convenience of RestorePro. I was left without a kitchen sink for 6 weeks. I still don't know who the project manager was - I was given 3 different names. All communication is via Email or by sending messages to the office via the workers. If you need water remediation and reconstruction services, RUN the other way. ServicePRO would be a better bet. read more

This is the second time we used Restorepro. Our roof leaked twice within the same year! Thanks to Restorepro, our ceiling damage was quickly contained and fixed both times. We live on the third floor of a condo building. The roof is getting old and the roof tarp(?) got turned up in a windy summer storm last year. There was a lot of leak and damage to our ceiling. The crew from Restorepro came, cut open the ceiling, took out the insulation, dried everything and put it all back together. There was a small glitch regarding the placement of one of the ceiling lights, the one above the dinning table. They came back and fixed it. When our guests came back, the ones that were here when the ceiling leak happened, they were surprise at how well done the repair was, no one can tell anything was done at all. David Johnson was our project manager. More recently, there was a small leak due to ice dam around the roof drain. They again took care of it. Lisa, who answer my call, accessed the situation and said they'd be able to send a crew on the same day. She was very reassuring. Steven was our project manager this time. And Sean Bethoney came to set up all the fans, heaters and dehumidifier. Sean was very professional and was such a pleasure to do business with! We had the unfortunate problem of a sewer line backup in our basement yesterday. Thank goodness for RestorePro. They came to our house at 9:00 pm (we did not discover the problem until 8 pm) the night before the 4th of July and cleaned everything up. Then they sent another crew today (4th of July) to continue the work. The guys were extremely hardworking and even smiley(!) despite having to work on a holiday. Brian, the owner, has kept tabs on the whole project and is great to deal with. Compared to the numerous other contractors we have dealt with over the past 48 hours, RestorePro was head and shoulders above the rest. We can't thank them enough. read more

We had a leak from a residential sprinkler system which ended up damaging a wall in our bathroom and about 75 sq ft. of our kitchen ceiling. The bathroom turned out fine, but the kitchen - not so much. Although Marcello and Joe from RestorePro were personable and reasonably responsive, their estimates were misleading and deceptive, and the way they computed prices differed between their estimates and the final invoice. The kitchen ceiling presented a challenge since our textured, unpainted plaster ceiling was continuous throughout most of the rooms on that floor. Depending on how well the newly-textured plaster matched, this big continuous ceiling would almost certainly need re-plastering, repainting, or both. Their original estimate of $5,500 appeared to include the cost of fixing the bathroom, putting up wallboard and plastering the damaged area of the kitchen ceiling, and re-texturing and painting the continuous ceiling in the rooms adjoining the kitchen. As we were hoping that painting might not be necessary, we asked for a quote that retained the texturing but excluded the painting. This dropped the estimate to about $3,800, still apparently including the re-texturing of all these rooms. It also specified 70 sq ft as the area that needed new drywall in the kitchen. We signed off on this proposal and scheduled the work. When the workers arrived, we learned that they were going to plaster only the area of affected ceiling. They weren't going to do the work shown in the estimate that seemed to include re-texturing the continuous ceilings in neighboring rooms. The workers explained that to properly re-plaster the neighboring rooms would cost "ten times as much." Marcello and Joe from RestorePro attempted various verbal acrobatics to explain that the estimate didn't include any plastering beyond the affected area in the kitchen. But they were unable to explain why the estimate included charges for skim coating and texturing plaster in 3 of our other rooms if they weren't committing to actually do that work for that price. To this day I have never received a coherent explanation what went on with this estimate. Marcello often fell back on the explanation that it was "just an estimate" that would go up or down depending on the work that they actually did, which is normally fair enough, but that excuse doesn't explain line items for plastering that they apparently had no intention of doing for the price they quoted. I decided not to pursue the matter, giving them the benefit of the doubt that it was just some sort of bad mistake on their part when creating the original estimate. RestorePro sent us an invoice for the work that they ostensibly completed. Among other problems, whereas their original estimate specified drywall and plastering for 70 sq ft of our kitchen ceiling, this new invoice said they did 160 sq ft., claiming that 5 sheets of drywall were used. Drywall sheets are 32 sq ft each, so a maximum of 3 sheets should have been needed. RestorePro made multiple claims along the way, including: * They always charge for full sheets of drywall, since after you cut one you cannot re-use the rest. * They always charge for plastering a full sheet of drywall even if only a partial sheet is used, because plaster costs money and goes by the bag, and "it adds up." In the end they agreed to reduce the number of sheets down from 5 to 4 (128 sq ft) to patch what turned out to be 75 sq ft. Although I still found this problematic, we were anxious to get conclude business with RestorePro so we agreed. The problems with their rationale are: * If they only charge for a full sheet of drywall at a time, their estimates should reflect that from Day One. As Marcello measured 70 sq ft. originally, his estimate should have shown 3 sheets of drywall, or 96 sq ft. * The material cost of a sheet of drywall and a whole bag of plaster is about $25, yet they charged about $300 per sheet all told. I might accept that rate for drywall and plaster that's actually used for the job, but not for the unused and unneeded material that ends up in the dumpster (though could easily have been used on another job). The work they actually did perform was a mixed bag. The bathroom came out fine. The plasterer said that the newly plastered area of our kitchen ceiling would come out bright white, but it has resolved to a mottled color that's gray in big areas, and its texture doesn't appear to match the surrounding ceiling particularly well. In summary, we completely lost confidence that RestorePro would fulfill any contract for the price they committed to, or that they would deal honestly (or at least in a manner that didn't totally confuse us). They were nice enough people in person, but we feel baffled, misled, and cheated. I invited RestorePro to provide feedback to me prior to my posting of reviews on social media, but did not hear back from them. read more

Restorepro came very quickly to remove the gyprock and insulation in our ceiling after a major leak. They gave us an estimate of $800 which seemed reasonable. Justin and his associates took lots of pictures before they left so they would know how much material they would need to replace. Then, they never returned. I called Justin 3 times, then Mike, then Lisa, then Steve, and finally 2 weeks later, we were sent an estimate for the "Restore" part of $4500 by Sam. I will strongly urge Best Picks Boston to remove the recommendation of this company. We are left with a gaping hole in our ceiling covered by plastic; no overhead lights; no insulation. read more

The neighbor's pool broke and our backyard and basement were flooded on the 4th of July. The pool deck and basement had inches of water and sediment- it was horrible. RestorePro to the rescue! They responded right away to my request to come out and spent the whole day on Friday (day after the holiday to boot) and were able to clean the basement and pool deck. The gentlemen were amazing- very professional. The owner called a couple of times to check in and came over to check the progress as well. the cleaning of the pool deck is not the norm for them and I so appreciate that they rose to the occasion and did a wonderful job. RestorePro did excellent job for me. After huge snow damage last winter we had in our house, RestorePro team was able to do everything we needed: repainted all affected areas, replaced rotted subfloor, installed new hardwood floor, replaced tile and took care about preventing home from mold development. Team was working always on schedule, coming on time, cleaning after work and taking care about everything, no disturbing our life at home. Had a huge & messy sewer backup in our big old house's basement caused toilet backup. Called RestorePro for emergency service & they responded immediately & did a fantastic job in cleaning & disinfecting the area, removing carpet, boxes, books & other contaminated items. They were super efficient, courteous & friendly - amazing considering the "crappy" job they had to do! The cost was fair & reasonable, & we decided not to use our homeowners insurance but pay them directly. Would highly recommend them & would definitely use them again if needed! read more

Never use this company. Period. I did not call them to my home. They knocked my door, and said my neighbor basement is leaking and came to my basement to take a look( I thought they came through my condo associates, so let them come in) . Then they put 3 fan in my basement for more than two weeks. I called them to pick up the equipment. Nobody came. Total working time at my home was less one hour. I called Restore Pro to clean up water in my basement after a sewer line back up in August 2016. They came immediately and cleaned up the water. After they cleaned up the water, they tore up the dry walls and part of the tile, leaving my basement unfinished until now. Their estimates were very misleading. They estimate 5000 dollars for both clean-up and restore but I got invoice of $20,000 for clean-up only. I would not recommend anyone to use them. If you do choose to use their service, make sure to have a written contract first. read more
