Substandard work quality with many cycles of inspection with rework required to get a marginally, acceptable final result: Wrong paint, poor quality wall texture, paint spilled on wood floors, no set work schedule, never there when they said they would be, huge range of different workers which made it hard to get any follow through or quality work. The owner kept asking for payment before work was even done! "As a courtesy, we'll send someone over to check it out" (which they didn't). He threatened to put a lien on our house, because we couldn't pay him...the work was not complete yet. It took 4 month for a fairly simple job (3 months longer than it should have) with a lot of pressure from the owner to pay for shabby work. In the end, the work was okay but too much fuss and hassle and super expensive! Next time, we will hire a company with a more organized manager and a dedicated work force. read more

The business owner is referring to a complaint I filed with the BBB about their lack of transparency and poor communication, and these complaints show up in many of the customer reviews of Restoration Heroes on Yelp! The bill that was emailed to me for close to 12K is unjustified, as no work was authorized, and I had not even seen any agreement signed until after a complaint was filed with the BBB! This SCAM, I am sure is affecting many other customers of Restoration Heroes, not just me, so people must be aware of the wrong and unlawful business practices of this company and tell others not to do any business with Restoration Heroes. read more

HORRIBLE Communication and Project Management. Only the first team that came out to repair the pipes was good. After that, every other team was AWFUL. NEVER provided a work schedule, no set schedule, left the place messy, workers left their trash and food in my home and garage. Said they would get a dumpster - NONE! Nails left on my driveway for me to clean. Failed to cover what they promised during construction. Workmanship was mediocre. A lot of finger pointing. Should I go on??? I am still waiting for a call from a manager, but of course nobody yet while my house sits unfinished for 4 months. I will NEVER use them again!!! I wish I could give them a ZERO. Don't be fooled by the first person who comes out - they subcontract all their work and their workers don't speak English (no offense to them because my mom doesn't either), but my point is you can't communicate with the workers and the project manager doesn't respond and check in their workmanship before the day is over. read more

Thank you so much Restoration Heroes for taking care of us on two projects. The first huge project at our rental was water damage from a burst pipe which required repairs in the kitchen and bathroom. This was a huge endeavor that RH took care of very quickly, but the whole process took a long time because of insurance issues with the HOA, the HOA's insurance, and our personal insurance. RH went above and beyond to smooth things out and get things taken care of, which was difficult because our HOA was not very responsive. I was very impressed with Restoration Heroes after subsequently working with them on a second project at our home. If they were unable to do certain aspects of a job, such as asbestos testing, they had partnerships with companies that got the job done extremely quickly. Our bathroom was tested for lead and asbestos within one day of scheduling. The job was scheduled within a couple days of results coming back, and was finished in half a day. Restoration Heroes does great work, goes above and beyond to schedule things quickly, and make customers happy. read more

I had water damage. I called Pristine Plumbing, they recommended RH. I never filed a homeowner ins claim, Carlos helped help massively explaining and walking me through everything. Eventhought the ins denied my claim. Carlos (and the RH team behind him) continue to argue on mt behalf and the ins still wouldnt over turn their decision. Carlos and the RH team worked with me the best they came to help with mitigation only. The rebuilding and reconstruction is being done by their sister compnay EagleEye. So far, ive been very impressed and recommended RH, especially Carlos, to anybody that has any needs. read more

Dirty, shady company! Came to give an estimate on a leak repair. $5,500 for cabinet removal and closet box packing. Unethical, upsell, put my kitchen all plastic tented up and ran fans for almost a week. Pretty small minor water damage for such a large project. After they removed the drying equipment. Took another 3 days for an estimator to come give a quote. Said should have a quote in 3 days. A week later still leaving the tent in my unusable kitchen, where I have a toddler in my house I need to care for, they call and try to make ANOTHER appointment for an estimator to come out to AGAIN to give an estimate to complete the job. Are you kidding, you guys tear my house apart, charge this ridiculous rate for B.S. not necessary work, leave my house torn apart for 2 weeks, and you can't even get your projects straight. Like 5 receptionists called to make an appointment for an estimate already done, and waiting on the quote! This company comes in sells high professionalism and quality work upfront, and their follow through is a joke. Talked to 5 different receptionist just to get one job done and so much confusing back and forth and ultimately them not even completing the job. Before they could even call us again, for the SECOND estimate, we already found other people to complete the job. Still never even received a quote after the first estimate, crazy how these companies operate. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND this SUPER shady company, I don't care how nice your outfits and vans are. Earlier in the year we had some water damage take out our bathroom and bedroom and we were pretty much at a loss on the next steps forward. When we called our plumbing company to tell us what was up, they referred us to Restoration Heroes, and essentially recommended them over a couple alternatives I'd already scheduled to come in. As it turned out, I'm so glad they did, as I couldn't imagine how things would have played out without them. Edgar Sanchez, their project manager, came to take a look at our house the day after we'd called, inspected the damage, and pretty much assured us they could handle all our needs. And perhaps most importantly, he sat down with us to explain every relevant detail about what was going on and how the remediation and repair process would look like. Given we were really new to any type of home damage and subsequent fix, this information and reassurance meant everything to us, particularly when it came to working with insurance, as we had no idea how we'd be able to get what we needed to get squared - and we had even less of an idea of the type of communications required to make sure things went smoothly. Edgar and his team were in constant contact with insurance and in the meantime, were getting the work done that to get cleaned up, dried out, and ready to go for rebuild. What I think stood out to me the most, though, was that Edgar really emphasized that he just wanted us to get what we needed, and he took a LOT of time out of his schedule to talk with me pretty much every time I had questions. There were a couple junctures early on where I could have gone with a different company and he pretty much let me know that was totally ok, but he'd still be around to help us land safely with whomever we chose to go with. His brand of empathy and wanting to do right by the clients was what helped me choose RH, and I'm glad that I did! As for a couple of the other teammates, I'd also like to thank Ziena/Meddy for bridging the communication (I got daily updates on everything going on) and also Jose Bermudez, a tech who took some extra time even after the job was done to just tidy up and make things easier on us. They cut out the wet drywall, set up a plastic tent and fans. They came daily to check dryness level and after 5 days it was done. These guys are the worst. They came in and provided a quote on repairing my Walls and Paint, from a damaged water line that had to be re-routed in my home. My insurance company thought their pricing was out of line and recommend one of their better known partners to provide me a quote. Their repair partner came in $1,000 less than what Restoration Heroes quoted. Restoration Heroes got so upset that they didn't win my business. They sent me an invoice for $994 as a "Recovery Fee" for their time and effort. How ridicules is this? This was flat out "Modern Day Thievery". I've been in the computer business for 45 years selling Multi-Million dollar computer systems to Fortune 500 companies all over the world. We have never and I mean never charged a customer a "Recovery Fee" for time and effort, because we didn't win there business. I told my insurance company about this and they plan to "Black List" these guys if they ever try and do this again to any of their other customers. These guys are the worst. Home Depot improperly installed a dishwasher, causing a flood in my kitchen. RH came out immediately and put a remediation plan in place for me thru my home owners insurance. I was assigned a project manager, Felipe, who has been great. He is always available for all my questions and is extremely patient, as this has been a stressful experience for me (and my cats). The team assigned to demo the water damage, Alex and Guillermo, have also been great. They have made everything as convenient as possible for me and have been very respectful of my home (and cats). I'm very happy with the service provided by RH - the communication and attention to detail I have experienced cannot be provided by one of those huge, national franchised restoration companies. Be cautious when using this company. Yes, they did the work they were hired to do and got paid for it. However, they also damaged my property while doing their work. They tore one of our shades and the tape they put on our shutters to hold up the plastic took the paint right off. They have been promising for months that they will take care of both issues to no avail. Now I'm stuck with these additional damages after still going through the water damaged we suffered. Insurance will not cover their damage so this is an out of pocket expense that will be $1,000 or more. I will most likely have to now paint all the shutter so that they match. What a headache this has been. Buyer beware don't let this happen to you, choose another restoration company. Restoration Hero's is no hero in my book. read more

Had a pipe burst in the middle of the night. Water damage was complete and thorough. Contacted a restoration company, Restoration Heroes came out and started the drying process immediately. Within about 1 hour of calling they were on site, and in about an hour and a half our Project Manager Mike White was on site re-verifying everything, going over the details of each step in amazing detail, and helping walk me through the process of filing a claim. He helped us save the pertinent info, answered our questions to give us more peace of mind than most get in this instance where it's just "we filed a claim... now what?". Our adjuster was slow to respond to temporary housing costs, Mike helped to facilitate that and speed it along. They pulled the damaged flooring up during the dry-out process and found tile with asbestos under the laminate flooring. This was remediated so we would be safe in the event of future work. They then passed me along to a trusted contractor/rebuild team and we're waiting on insurance company approval of the rebuild. During all of this, Mike has been available, knowledgeable, and has made sure to stress to us that even if he is not a part of the remediation process anymore, he can and will help us as needed for anything on the claim side. While I'll never say I'm happy to have had to file an insurance claim, I'm thankful that I got to work with Mike and Restoration Heroes as they've been fantastic. And, in the spirit of "nobody is perfect", my only complaint was that they hadn't picked up the plastic wrap/sealant they used over the doors and windows at the end of this involved, complex process. I had to remind Mike about this which was completed the very next day after requesting. *gasp* the horror, a simple human oversight that was also fixed immediately upon request! Lol. And clearly it is reflected in my score of their work at 5 stars out of 5. When you're at your lowest "oh sh-" moment for a home claim, if you see Mike showing up, he's as close to a knight in shining armor as you'll get. read more

Adam and Brenton have been a godsend to us! We had a sewage line drain back up into our condo from the exterior HOA; after a lack of seriousness from our HOA, we called Adam at Restoration. Adam was very helpful from the first call and agreed to come out to assess the damages at our home.
