Can't say enough good things about our remodel from Emergency Home Solutions. It came out beautiful and better than expected. Bobbi and Frank are very friendly and easy to work with. I will definitely use them again for future projects.

EHS was there for us every step of the way during our Cat 3 water damage emergency. I can see why they are the preferred vendor with our plumber. They came out within an hour of our plumber contacting them, and immediately got to work drying the moisture behind our walls. EHS has many techs on staff, but every one we dealt with was punctual, courteous and professional. Each day, someone came to the house to check water levels, and provide us with updates on the drying progress. All of the techs were knowledgeable, and were able to answer any and all questions we had. Unfortunately, our insurance company denied our claim, but Adrian from EHS was kind enough to work with us on our final invoice. If ever we experience another home emergency, we wouldn't hesitate to call EHS again.

Unfortunately, we had to use EHS services because of a window leak. I called and Cory came out very quickly do to the initial consultation and identified exactly what areas of the walls/ceiling were wet. He walked me through the whole process and honestly, it felt a little overwhelming. It's the first time we had to deal with a leak like this and I wasn't comfortable with them cutting into our walls to try out the affected areas. But it's either that or potentially deal with mold, and since we plan on being here for awhile, we decided it was best to address the issue quickly. The team came in and cut open the drywall in the affected areas, set up plastic barriers, and brought in a couple of huge dehumidifiers and fans to essentially bake and dry out the walls. These things were massive and sucked so much energy - even with solar. Every day after about 4 days of drying they would come by to take moisture measurements. After the moisture levels dropped to a certain level, they packed up their gear and left. One of the project leads worked with me on a reconstruction plan since insurance denied our claim. We were able to negotiate the price as well as a couple of small projects I asked them to do since they were going to retexture and repaint the area (and beyond) anyway, and I looked forward to the work. The crew finished the construction in a little less than a week. By far the best part of this whole situation was the construction crew. They were quick and efficient, and did very high quality work. I chatted with them a bit and they were really friendly as well. Very professional. In the end, our walls look better, our ceiling looks great, the paint downstairs is actually uniform (the people who lived here before us painted half the kitchen a separate color, with the split being in the middle of the wall). The carpet that had to be peeled back for the project was replaced perfectly. Really happy with the work they did. The project was not without hiccups though. The most frustrating aspect was the communication. There are so many people to keep track of - I highly recommend bookmarking the initial email that has everyone listed on there. But because of this, often some details were lost as we progressed through the project. At one point, construction was halted because of a miscommunication, which dragged the whole project a bit. Thus, I recommend being proactive and calling everyone to stay on top of the timeline. Also, one of the first people who I worked with over the phone was disrespectful. It wasn't Gabby, but someone who was filling in for her during a lunch. She had forgotten to place me on hold when she asked someone a question and referred to me as "Mark McGonagall or whatever" and said some other things that not only were patronizing, but made me even more stressed during the initial phase of the project when we were talking about removing entire sections of the wall. When she "put me off hold", her voice got all sweet again and spoke with respect, and when I called her out, she didn't apologize or acknowledge what she did. Overall, it was very stressful, but I'm happy with the end result from EHS. Given the price of the water mitigation and now knowing a bit more about what insurance will and will not cover, I'd probably do a few things differently. I hope I don't have to go through this again, but if I did, I'd probably use EHS again.

I'm not one to usually review on yelp but since I found them on yelp I figured I'd help someone potentially not make the same mistake we did. We had a slab leak and I found EHS on yelp to help mitigate the damage. The 5 star system here is tough because it depends on what I'm rating. The mater mitigation team was great. They showed up on time and did clean work. Probably 5 stars. Got the job done. The re-construction side of things would be a 1 star. Bobbi walked through my house and was nice and responsive but they sub contract the work out beyond that. They sent one guy to paint and replace dry wall. He left an absolute mess and did not use any sort of dust protection for the parts of my house that weren't being work on. He even got paint on the front of our dishwasher that was sitting in the middle of the room he was working on. Absolutely careless and sloppy work. On the last day when he was "finished with the job", he left drywall mud in globs everywhere, trash and multiple dust pans worth of dust that I had to clean up by sweeping and using a shop-vac. He even left multiple nails on the floor that my 2 year old found. The painter would take the door to my kid's room off everyday, knowing we were living here during this, and I'd have to hang it back up. He left the job complete without putting wall plates back on outlets which is small but felt careless. Definitely not the type of work you'd expect for the prices they charge. Outside of the mess, the work was amateur at best. I've painted rooms and am not good at it but still feel like I'd do a better job than he did. . They sent another guy out to fix the paint but it's still not great. There are plenty of areas with drip lines and the prior color showing through. On top of this all, I had to babysit the job and point out areas that were supposed to get done but didn't. They gave me a discount on the price for the inconvenience but it still felt pricey for the work that was done. They lock you into a contract with very vague verbiage. I probably should have pushed the issue more to pay less but didn't want to deal with it anymore. When I emailed Ivan telling him we wished to cut ties and cited the reason above, I never heard back from him. I don't feel like the level of terrible work done was properly compensated but decided to not fight over it and vote with my dollar instead. If I were to do this again, I'd maybe use them for water mitigation as they were great and helped me get a better payout from my insurance again. I would NEVER use them for reconstruction. They charge premium pricing for very poor work. The quote I received for my kitchen was very high and delivered via text message which felt pretty unprofessional and didn't provide any detail or breakdowns. I used EHS initially because of positive yelp scores and to support a local business but the quality of the work is something I'd be terribly embarrassed by if I were the owner.

Floor torn out, kitchen counter gutted, and fans with a dehumidifier drying everything out. EHS does things right.

We had a leak in the kitchen that soaked into the foundation. EHS came in and took care of everything for us. They even helped us deal with insurance, which we had no idea how to do. Everyone that worked in our home was super friendly. To be completely honest, our home looks better than before the leak. We only paid for the deductible plus a couple small extras. They helped make sure insurance got us the other 30k. I would highly recommend EHS to anyone, especially if you've never dealt with insurance before. That was a headache and having an experience team on your side helps calm the nerves a lot.

My experience with Restoration 1 of Irvine during a water damage claim was extremely stressful, and…read moreI think other homeowners should understand what can happen in situations like this. Key facts from my project * Initial estimate tied to my work authorization: $16,653.79 * Invoices later submitted by the contractor ran this up to $50k+ * Those invoices were only for mitigation and demolition work * The entire reconstruction of the damaged areas of my home ultimately cost around $60k * A mechanic's lien was filed against my home during the dispute * I received zero phone calls with any management at the company throughout my engagement. All communication was initiated by me. After a plumbing leak at my home, Restoration 1 began mitigation work and had me sign a Work Authorization tied to the $16,653.79 estimate. Because this was my first insurance claim, I relied on them to guide the process and work with my insurance company. What I later realized is that I never signed a proper home improvement contract outlining the scope of work, pricing, payment terms, timeline, cancellation rights, or lien disclosures. The only document I signed was a Work Authorization. As the project progressed, the invoices escalated dramatically. By the end of the job, Restoration 1 of Irvine submitted invoices totaling $50k+. It's important to understand that this amount was only for demolition and drying work. The entire reconstruction of the damaged areas of my home ultimately cost around $60k, so the mitigation invoices alone were nearly the cost of rebuilding the damage itself. Their documentation states that if the scope of work changes, the homeowner will be notified before work continues. In practice, I was consulted on only two scope changes during the entire project. When my insurance company (State Farm) reviewed the invoices, they disputed a large portion of the charges as excessive. After months of review, the final amount paid ended up much closer to the original estimate than the $50k+ invoices that had been submitted. During the dispute I began receiving increasingly aggressive payment emails demanding payment directly from me, and Restoration 1 eventually filed a mechanic's lien against my home while the insurance review was still ongoing. For someone who has always paid their bills and maintains an 841 credit score, being treated like a delinquent customer was extremely frustrating. One thing I learned from this experience is that during insurance restoration work there can be a large difference between what a contractor bills and what insurance ultimately approves. If a homeowner pays the contractor first out of panic, recovering that difference from insurance can become the homeowner's responsibility. I'm sharing this experience so other homeowners dealing with water damage or insurance claims can make an informed decision before hiring this company.

Keith was the main person I spoke with to set up a day for Jim to get out here and take a look at our situation. Keith also helped with giving us references for lead and Aspesos testing companies. He checked in on us so kindly to see if we had further questions. He was So friendly and helpful. Jim came out to our home and checked out the area that needed to get treated. He was also very friendly and explained everything they would need to do to get things done and completed. He was patient with me about all my questions. Thankfully everything came out negative and the crew was scheduled to come out to our home. The crew that came with Jim were prompt, efficient and friendly.
