Rather than working through a standard insurance variance, the company manufactured an unauthorized secondary invoice for $4,306.50 without a signed change order and filed a retaliatory mechanic's lien against my property for $13,473.10--more than $8,000 above the initial insurance variance. This company engages in severe balance-billing and uses property liens to pressure homeowners after insurers settle fair market value. They are currently the subject of active consumer protection complaints with the DC Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP) and the DC Office of the Attorney General (OAG).
