My spouse and I gave it a try after coming across recommendations on various forums, then confirming on the manufacturers' websites that they are an authorized dealer for the brands they sell. This is not the kind of mattress store that has locations in every neighbourhood or advertises on every TV show. Besides the store being out of our way, it's sparsely decorated with narrow aisles (which was actually a bit of a challenge with our toddler's stroller). Any mattress that's available to try is wrapped in plastic. If you need help, you may need to wait for a salesperson to be available. And while delivery to your front door is free, room delivery and/or haul-away are extra charges. Some people may not be happy with that style of service, which I understand entirely! But there are lots of options to try, prices are very good without having to wait for a "sale", and the salespeople are knowledgeable and don't work on commission. There's also no need to haggle - though extra coupons are often available through their email list. So why we cancelled? The exact same type of Sealy mattress we ordered went on sale for about a hundred dollars less the next day through a certain membership warehouse. National Mattress said they would honour their price match policy even though it was a different model name, which we appreciated, but could not match some of the other benefits of buying through the warehouse. Getting a refund required a return trip to the store but was otherwise hassle-free. Still, we are very happy to recommend National Mattress to anyone looking for a mattress in a lower-pressure environment where you don't have to negotiate for hours to get a good value.

There was only one mattress on sale under $200. One note to people interested in buying a mattress at Springmade: all the prices are HST inclusive, and you can pay by major credit cards. I saw the sign for a $299 queen sized walking down the street and it caught my attention. No way could they do that. I checked out the site and some reviews and orders the level up from their base model. It came in around $500 delivered! They do make a third level that people rave about, but I didn't think it was necessary for my guests who typically only stay a night or 2, totaling 10-15 nights a year. Delivery was fast and efficient. Their delivery guys were friendly and clean. If you need a mattress for your own room, get the top of the line. (Still cheaper than most other brands). This part is supposed to break easily and it is common to have to replace it. The part is a small piece of threaded plastic and should cost about $10.00 I have purchased it on line for $25.00 and it is not hard to find. This time I contacted the Company as this bed was supposed to be under Warranty. They told me this part was not Warrantied and they wanted $115.00 plus shipping to replace it. This is a total scam and ripoff and they target older people or the disabled as that is the target market for the beds. Do not buy a bed from them there are other options more affordable and that do not try to rob you.Be careful.

Because it is in the same plaza area as Yonge Sheppard Animal Hospital, I went to pick up my cat food and get my other cat's ashes that died a traumatic death. Their security guard starts berating me, threatening me that I am going to get a ticket and I told him I just came out of the RONA. Didn't matter to him, I also told him that my cat just died and this is a very stressful situation for me. He then continued to bully me for being upset. Thankfully the staff at Y&S animal hospital helped mediate the situation, but this is truly disappointing behaviour from RONA's management. I am no longer going to buy anything from this store, as I can't support this kind of behaviour. Businesses should be kind to each other and it's clear RONA is just a big bully.

They refused to accept the return telling me they don't sell metal screws (unbelievable for a hardware store !) and told me to go back to Mississauga store and another store that sells metal screws. Frustrated so I said next time I will buy small hardwares at Home Depot to avoid this kind of headache and this young smart alec employee at Rona said "tell them I say hello" ! What an attitude !!!
