Stumbled upon Comptoir Parisian (French/Portuguese fusion cuisine) when we were visiting the area and was pleasantly surprised by their food and service. We came around 1:30pm, as hot as it can get in the middle of the summer so we decided to wait for a table to be seated inside. We waited about 5-10mins and were often updated with the wait time. We ordered 2 kids meal, chicken strips and fries in which my kids devoured them in no time, and also 2 fish soups, 1 salad and 2 entrees for 4 adults to share (as it was too hot and we weren't very hungry). The fish soup was delectable. It was rich in flavor but not overly creamy or heavy. Bouillabaisse is indeed one of my favorite and a must get while I'm in France. For their nicoise salad, the veggies were fresh and crisp, with just the right amount of olive oil and balsamic glaze on top. For entrees, we ordered the sea bass with ratatouille and rice. I was expecting nicely lined vegetables which don't happen but the sea bass was perfectly cooked with crispy skin, moist and tender meat that just flakes apart easily. My kids ended up stealing most of our fish. The ratatouille was very flavorful, perfect to be eaten with rice. The cod was one of their specials for the day and it was also perfectly cooked: moist and tender. Their service was very quick and attentive. Some people may not like it being too quick and specially in Europe but we like it especially when we didn't want to spend too much time eating and more time for sightseeing. The only complaint is the AC is a little weak but this is common in most of the places in Europe. Overall, food is excellent with superb service. Price was a little higher than other restaurants in Lisbon but it is expected given its location. We enjoyed our lunch and would recommend it to anyone to enjoyed French cuisine. read more

Our family wanted French steak after many meals of fish. The staff was super friendly and helpful with the menus and details of each dish. The portions were large and rich with tons of flavor. The staff was fun and were silly with the kids helping to make the whole meal an enjoyable experience. It is in a small little lane off the main busy street with a wonderful view and ambiance. After visiting the Belem tower we were hungry. Luckily we found this small neighborhood adjacent to the park which had several restaurants with outside seating. It was a beautiful day so why not give it a try. We selected this restaurant due to its French menu. We have been earing local food alot and French is my favorite so it was a nice change. I ordered my favorite hard cider Somersby and made the selections of foie gras, lyon sausages and potatoes, and panna cotta for dessert. The duck foie gras was fantastic and was accompanied with fresh bread, course salt, and raspberry preserve. The lyon sausage was covered in a beef gravy of herb and veg. The taste reminded me of the last time I had this dish in the French countryside. Magnificent! The panna cotta was excellent with some raspberry sauce on top and a touch of cream and chocolate on the side. Niki enjoyed sharing the foie gras and reported her steak tartar, fries, and salad were all incredible. This is a must when visiting the area and we will definitely be back. read more

If visiting Belém for the 'original' pastel de nata at the historic Pastéis de Belém, a visit to the beautiful Jerónimos Monastery (Mosteiro dos Jerónimos), the nearby Padrão dos Descobrimentos monument, or the famous Belém Tower (Torre de Belém), both a national monument and World Heritage (UNESCO) site, the nearby Comptoir Parisien will make a great spot for lunch or dinner. PROS - Seated and fed us at 15:30, having closed at 15:00, on Christmas Eve ... HOOAH! - Plenty of outdoor seating, which came in handy considering that Portugal implemented a requirement, just days before, for a negative COVID test result to eat inside restaurants over the Christmas and New Year holidays - The French Onion Soup (€6) was the best I have ever had - My Sausage and Lentils (€15) was excellent and TOO BIGGA EAT ... MAMA MIA! - The sauces on the steaks au poivre and roquefort (€16 each) were both very tasty - The service was friendly, with one exception (below), and professional ... MERCI BEAUCOUP! - The prices were very fair for the portions and quality of the food. CONS - We were greeted, and I use that term very loosely, by a nasty little man at the entrance to the restaurant whom was trying to get rid of us so he could go home. It's on a long a strip of tourist restaurants, so I was nervous to go here and usually readily avoid a place in a location like this. But I was in a bind for food and followed the Yelp reviews. Was pleasantly surprised. A mix of Portuguese and French, the food was very tasty and well cooked. Cod fish cakes were slightly spicy, crunchy on the outside and chunky inside. The flavors were great. The grilled sardines were out of this world. You get a huge portion. They were so well seasoned, tender and fresh. Sit outside for a lovely outdoor experience. The inside is smaller with a lovely little bar and clean bathrooms. If you happen to be in this area of Lisbon, rest assured that you'll have a good meal in this tourist strip. read more

Nothing really special, big line of tourists restaurants saw this was higher rated so decided to check it out. Had a burger and onion soup and my partner had escargot and it really wasn't great. Burger was drowning in blue cheese sauce that didn't go well with the beef and it just fell apart into a mush, don't recommend. Overall it was our worst food experience in Portugal unfortunately. read more

We loved this restaurant! We went on our last night out in Lisboa and enjoyed every bite. There were five of us and we went from charcuterie and pate to our splendid main courses to dessert. A great find that we just happened to stumble upon for lunch while touring Belem. Cute outdoor spot on a strip with other restaurants, and the French host and servers were friendly and made the whole vibe feel very authentic. The risotto with duck and pork was absolutely delicious... I can still remember it months later. We also shared some kind of salad that was really tasty and refreshing. The restaurant was cozy and decorated with style, we ended up dining inside due to the hot weather. One of the foods we tried was the risotto, which was full of flavor, creamy but not soggy. The sea bass off of the daily special menu was fresh and prepared with taste. The portions are appropriate. We also ordered a hamburger with French fries and it came with a salad-highly recommend. They are also accommodating to large groups and kids. We haven't tried dessert, but they do offer a few varieties. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. Great food and good service! The sea bass with the olive tapenade is amazing, but there ratoutille and onion soup were nothing to write home about. The ratoutille tasted too sour and was more puréed than sliced and the onion soup was just okay. On the other hand, the lentil salad and poached egg was excellent along with the octopus salad. The location is rest and the place is cute. Definitely recommend it! read more
