We went for a late Sunday supper after a day in Basel. We got here by wandering around since the two places we planned to check out had already closed their kitchens. This restaurant is pleasantly near the Rhine, less than a block away. It's also very convenient to a tram stop.
This business appeared to be a basic bistro with outdoor seating, but turned out to impress. We got a variety of foods, including cheese fondue, a sausage & cheese salad, and two varieties of pizza - pinza and a more German traditional version with a very thin and light crust.
Service was excellent by two ladies working all tables together. As we'd come to expect, they were spread thin and the food took a long time to arrive.
One of the servers had much better English than the other, but one in our party had a little German, so everything worked out. The menu was a bit limited with about seven each cold items and hot, but we were very satisfied with all our selections. The quantities were excellent as was the freshness.
We paid by credit card without incident. read more
