We were the only ones in the restaurant when we went. The young girl who took care of us was great! She was friendly & super sweet. Hubby got a Michelada & added a shot of Tito's since there was no alcohol in the tomato juice part of the drink. He said it was really good. My sangria was good. It's made with pineapple juice. We ordered the chips & salsa. We also ordered the guacamole. The chips & salsa were good. I was happy there was no heat in the salsa since I am a huge whimp when it comes to spicy food. The guacamole was really good after we added some salt & lime juice. I normally don't eat guacamole, but I liked it too. We went "out of our box" & tried the whole fried fish. We split it. We asked her to add rice & beans if it didn't come with it. It was huge. The fish was fried perfectly! Hubby loved it. I liked it too. It was moist. The rice was good. The refried beans were excellent! I don't know what they do, but the texture & flavor was the best we have ever had. I loved them. The homemade salsa was more like watered down ketchup with a hint of chili. It took a good 20 minutes to get the chips and salsa and another 25 minutes for the food to come out. The waiter never came to check on us. Just an older waiter that came to drop off the bill. Ambiance was not good. It felt more like a bar ambiance than a restaurant. The music was blaring. This could appease to someone wanting to go drink more than to go eat a tasty seafood meal.

In the end, we paid $157 for one meat platter for 2, french fries for the child, with no drinks since they don't serve alcohol. They don't accept credit cards and when paying cash they exchange rate 15 pesos for 1 US dollar which is lower than everywhere else. I am recommending you exchange the money before you go. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere did not match the excellent reviews we had read. We left disappointed and couldn't wait to leave because we were so uncomfortable.

So, of course, we had to give it a try! We tried a little bit of EVERYTHING, and there were so many options. They had pozole, picadillo, chicharrón en salsa verde, beans, rice, pancakes, and so much more. They also have an omelet station tucked into the corner. I completely missed it during our visit, but now that I know it's there, I'll definitely be checking it out next time! For our table, we decided to get just a little bit of everything so we could all taste the different dishes. I literally took about a spoonful of each of the meats and dishes because I wanted to try as much as possible. Everything we tried was delicious. They also bring handmade tortillas to the table, which is always a huge plus for me. They have aguas frescas available at the station as well -- jamaica, tamarindo, and an orange drink that reminded me of old-school Tang. And I have to talk about the desserts! I'm not really a dessert person because I don't like pastries that are overly sweet or sugary, but these were REALLY good. We got one piece of each and shared them around the table so everyone could try them, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious they were. The service was excellent, the restaurant was very clean, and the atmosphere was beautiful. The decor is really well done, and there's this gorgeous brick dome in the center with a beautiful chandelier that really adds to the whole aesthetic. It gives the restaurant a really nice, authentic feel. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at Restaurante Lolita. Great variety, delicious food, handmade tortillas, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere. Definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're in Puerto Peñasco!
