Delicious, fresh garlic octopus, with a strong margarita for a reasonable price. I came in early for a snack before dinner, so I had the sea view all to myself. The service was very friendly and helpful. This is a small, casual place. But the fish is well regarded, and the prices are good. Quite a bit cheaper than the beach resort restaurants. Local expats may turn up their noses at the busy touristy Malecón, but you can't go to Rocky Point without seeing the rocky point. There are pelicans and other seabirds fishing and sitting on the rocks, and especially near sunset the water sparkles beautifully. read more

We had a fantastic dinner to celebrate my friend's father's birthday at Pedro's! We called ahead as we had a party of 15. I'm they had a table ready for us and to make it even more interesting we wanted separate checks with some together and others alone. Oh and only 2 in the group actually spoke Spanish. We had THE BEST time! Idk if it was the amazing margaritas, the live music, phenomenal service or the outstanding food, but this place is definitely worth checking out! Undercooked 3 fish dishes, they were raw. Serving raw fish to a pregnant and child and didn't care if we got sick. They remade 1 of the fish orders and it was still raw. Let me tell you about Pedros. One of the finest tequila style wining and dining experience as you can have in Mexico. This would be my fourth gluttonous food debauchery. Let's start with the chips and salsa, I wasn't a real big fan of the chips at first because they're a little crunchy, but I've grown to love them. The salsa, has a super nice bike to it and that makes me enjoy those chips even more. The shrimp, huge, and super flavorful. Now this is where you can't go wrong. We stopped by Pedro's on our way back to the U.S. after four days in Puerto Penasco. I scanned Yelp reviews to identify a great seafood restaurant and Pedro's did not disappoint. Of the five entrees we ordered, the very best was the Blackberry Shrimp. I had ordered the ceviche tostada which was good but when my wife let me finish off her Blackberry Shrimp entree I was transported to a whole other world of dining pleasure. The sweet sauce coupled with the perfectly cooked jumbo prawns and roasted vegetables provided a blend of textures and flavor that enticed my senses. Our waiter was professional and helpful, a mariachi trio sang to us at our table, and Pedro himself thanked us for dining in. Stopped here to have lunch on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant is very small and narrow but has a gorgeous view of the ocean. I had steak tacos and a pina colada. The drink was amazing and I would love to have another right now. The tacos were just ok. Just meat and a tortilla tho. No cabbage, onions, cheese.., nothing. The tortilla was delicious but I make better tacos at home. Was really disappointed in the food here since it is Mexico but the food caters to white Americans that don't eat Mexican food. Our server told me Pedro's has been open for SEVEN years. I was only surprised because we thought we knew all the restaurants along the Malecon. In any case, the food and interior were a nice surprise. The fresh chips and salsa (slow burn) were way above average. We started with La Pedrona (inverted shrimp cocktail on a plate) and Hijuelachingada (major vulgar slang in Spanish that I'd never say in front of MOM). The latter was the best appetizer with a terrific Caribbean-type sauce. Our entrées were 3 Marlin Tacos and Crown Shrimp. The tacos were excellent. The Crown Shrimp were likewise, however, I'm not a fan of pulling off shrimp tails after they've been mixed in the sauce and fettuccine. It was delicious, nonetheless. The food with a Tecate and Coca-Cola Light came to $49.50. The Hijuelchingada ($6) was, by far, the best value. But all of the plates (platters) were art, and the food was plentiful and delicious. No entrees were over $15, btw. Also, btw: the place is small (10 tables-8 inside, 2 on the balcony. It's easy to miss because it's sandwiched between Lucky's and Boo Bar on the ground floor. Towards the end of our meal the server gave us 2 free pieces of flan to try (whiskey flan) We loved it so much we ended up buying a whole pan of flan that Pedro the owner made himself. You can get the same thing for less than half the price at various street vendors around town, but if you want a sit down place with a beautiful view of the sunset this is the place. There are two benches right outside by the beach. It is absolutely gorgeous here and our waiter was so friendly. Marlin tacos with the best I've ever had, we also got shrimp tacos which I thought were just OK. My family and I have been going to Pedro's for the last 2 years as I tend to go to PP quite a bit from April to December, and definitely there is no better place to go for seafood and fish than PEDRO'S. During my usual 4 day stay I will go once a day at least when he is open which is every day but Wednesday. The restaurant is small but the staff are so friendly, Pedro is a fabulous cook, the different sauces for fish and shrimp that he offers on the menu are so creative and amazingly tasty. His compositions of seafood medley both in appetizers and main courses are remarkable and all extremely delicious. Pedro makes his own salsa and there is not one better than that IMO. The tortilla chips are also excellent as not greasy and accompany the homemade salsa perfectly. As for drinks the margarita is a real one (strong) with excellent tequila and his limeade is my favorite non alcoholic drink of all times.. I can say that Pedro is the best and most different of all seafood restaurants in Puerto Penasco, even his whiskey flan is to die for... The new patio outside is lovely, very artistic and can have more people now that it was extended to double the previous patio which was destroyed by the hurricane in mid September 2022..The sea view is fabulous. Why go anywhere else when you have such a gem of a restaurant in the Malecon.. read more
