It was good, but I think it would be better to get an espresso. the second time I got my breakfast: Bacon, egg, cheese quiche. Same buttery and flaky crust as before. I liked this even more than the spinach, which I really liked. It was big enough for my wife and I to share. Apricot tart - lots of fruit, cream on a flaky crust. Superb, but you need to eat it right away because the filling gets things soggy if you wait. Double Espresso - I think it was very good, but I swallowed it so fast it's hard to say. You know, morning. Service is prompt but in my case not what I'd call super friendly. Good enough, though. The big deal was being able to get an excellent breakfast for two for about 20 Swiss Franc vs. double that in the hotel or a regular restaurant. I peeped the display case if there's anything else I can grab aside from chocolates. I was t really feeling the pastries and cookies so, I grabbed my chocolates and went back to my place in line. I got to the front of the line and the employee acted like she can't see me and skipped to the person behind me. So, I said "I'm just paying for the chocolates." Her response was very rude accusing me of cutting in line which I didn't do at all. So, I just loudly said "Fuch this place and left the chocolates on the counter and left. I was only getting chocolates from here for their novelty. Switzerland is never short of good chocolates.

The check-in process was smooth and very easy, which set the tone for a great stay. The room was truly unforgettable. I had a balcony overlooking the main shopping street, and the views were incredible. One of the most unique features was the ceiling windows--at night, we could see the stars right above us, and in the morning, we woke up to light snowfall and a clear, breathtaking view of the Matterhorn. It was an unbelievably spectacular experience. The hotel also has a restaurant and bar on the first floor, both of which were excellent and added even more convenience and enjoyment to the stay. I absolutely loved this hotel and would choose it again without hesitation. It would definitely be my first choice whenever I return to Zermatt.

It has been in the family since the 70's and they were celebrating their 50th upon our visit and stay at nearby gîte/ cottage, also operated by the family. We basked on the terrace with a beer in the afternoon and later moseyed down to the restaurant from our cottage above for dinner. With no other groups staying around the area, it was pretty much a private affair. We were served 3 hearty courses -- a salad with a generous inclusion of Sérac cheese from the nearby Moiry alpage, their version of Ratatouille with a helping of chicken, and an inventive apple sauce dessert with ice cream. The most satisfying meal of the trek which really powered me the next morning! The owners were super accommodating and ultra sweet. It is the only venue out there if you're visiting the dam, but it is one of the best with the most honest owners!
