It's amazing that even after 16 years of living in the area we can still come across hidden gems like La Courbe. We thought it had only been around for a short while but it's actually been here for 7 years already! It seems like the majority of traffic happens in the afternoon but it is open at night as well.
My wife and I headed there on a Thursday night and we had the place to ourselves which meant the owner was free to chat with us as much as we wanted as we discussed the dishes and what we should try out. The ambiance was so nice and relaxing and the music being piped in was just perfect for the event.
We started with a Mixed Entrees which meant a sampling of Acras (SO good!) Pâtés Cordees (patties filled with pulled pork - very tasty) and Chiquetailles (spicy smoked herring spread - SO spicy but SO tasty!)
For our main meals I chose the Creole Chicken in a spicy stew (served with Rice, Fried Plantains, and sauce) which was very good. Mixing the stew in my rice also gave it a great little kick :)
My wife had the Tassot de Boeuf (beef marinated in creole spices) which was also very tasty!
We were too full to try any desserts but will definitely be back so there will be another chance :) read more
