I have come to like one of the regional specialties, filets de perche, and my colleague said that the best was at Vieux-Navire. Was she ever right! There are five preparations of the perche in two different serving sizes offered, as well as a larger serving with three different preparations. I had the classic with fries, and it was delicious! The fish tastes fresh and is cooked just right, with a nice buttery flavor. The accompanying tartar sauce is great. The fries are good, though perhaps not as crisp as I prefer. I ordered the larger serving, which is done in two services. This is an added value, as the second serving is nice and hot when you get it. With the perche dish comes a simple yet very tasty starter salad (the dressing is delicious). Even the bread and the olives served when you sit down are very good! While the perche is the specialty of the house, the restaurant also offers a variety of other dishes, including steaks, which looked very good. There are some very nice dessert options. I got a chocolate cake (there's a lot more to it than that, but the menu is only in French), while my friend got the profiteroles. Both were absolutely delicious and almost artistic in their presentation. Prices at the restaurant are quite reasonable for Switzerland. Yes it may seem pricey if you're crossing the border from France, but for a restaurant on the Swiss side of Lake Geneva, prices are very fair for the quality, quantity, and service you receive. Speaking of, service at the restaurant is fantastic. For non-French speakers, a couple of the staff speak English. Overall the staff was friendly and attentive. There was always someone walking by to check on you. Also for a restaurant in Switzerland (where dinner can easily exceed three hours), service was very fast. We sat, ordered, and finished our salad and two-service main course within 40 minutes. We stayed longer because we wanted to, but it's nice to have the flexibility of a shorter evening if you prefer. The ambiance of the restaurant is also a highlight. It's small and feels cozy, with a bit of a nautical theme. I can't wait to go back when the weather is better and the terrace overlooking the lake is open!

Malakoffs belongs in the holy trinity of cheese dishes with fondue and raclette, and might be my favorite of all. I have only had the Malakoffs here, but there are other offerings including fish and meat dishes. Some of my friends have ordered these and gave them high marks as well, but the Malakoffs to me are what make this place special. You can't get them in other parts of Switzerland, and if you like cheese, these are amazing. I always go with the menu Maison, which comes with a nice variety of dried meats (delicious), salad (simple with a nice dressing), bread, small pickles and onions, ALL YOU CAN EAT Malakoffs, and a choice of dessert. It is a fantastic value for Switzerland, at only 38 CHF. And believe me, if you go to this place for lunch and have your fill of Malakoffs (which for me is about 6), then you will not be hungry at all for dinner. I can't recommend this place enough. It's one of those truly unique places with a food that doesn't exist outside the area.

This little Restaurant is placed right next to the beach with a nice scenery over the Lake and the Alps. Enjoy some delicious Filets de Perche and a glass of wine seven days a week from February to November. Atmosphere 4/5: The scenery is really beautiful and quiet an entertainment for someone outside Switzerland with a prime view over the Alps and the Lake. They have a nice Terrasse outside during Summer. I wished they had some music traditional romantic songs like Frank Sinatra in the background. It would be just perfect. Food 4/5: The filets de Perche are to die for. Not too oily, they are perfectly cooked and are melting in your mouth. The Perches are cooked with a sauce reduction of white wine. I had the full Menu 1 today which included some Beef Carpaccio, some mixed Greens, the filets de Perche and a dessert. A good deal for 67 CHF since the filets de Perche itselves are starting at 41 CHF for 180gr. I was kinda disappointed about the Beef Carpaccio, kinda tasteless. The mixed green were good and I had the homemade Flan Caramel that was alright as well. If you're starving and you want to limit your expenses, pick the menu 1 but personally, I think that a 250gr Filets de Perche is the best choice if you're not starving to death since you better be ready with the amount of food you're getting with the Menu. Service 4/5: We had to wait a little bit at the beginning until the order was taken but everything went smoothly and fast. We didn't wait between dishes which was great and the waiter made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. It is definitely a place to go if you like Filets de Perche. It's a little bit expensive but you pay the quality of the service, the scenery and the food! Oh and make sure to reserve your table before going because they are usually booked most of the time, mostly when it's Sunny.
