It…read moreseemed a bit spendy at the time (and it was our most expensive meal), but it was absolutely delicious, high quality, well executed the whole way through, and accommodating of us showing up at 9pm. I had slow-cooked beef wrapped in the most delicate of cabbage (could you even call it cabbage?), drizzled with mashed potatoes and au jus around the edge. It was such an elegant take on a classic preparation. Devine. The wine pours were not generous, I'd recommend ordering a bottle. But overall this was AMAZING, and I wish we had it some time into our trip so we could reflect on just how uniquely impressive it was.

The restaurant was clean, the employees were really friendly, and the menu looked quite tasty. I ordered some veal with mushrooms, while my wife had lobster. The problem is, both of those were really, really too salty. I finished my meal one hour ago, and I can still only feel the salt in my mouth... If that was a regular restaurant, I might have given it three stars. But given the high price tag, I don't think it's worth more than two. I definitely won't be going there again.

I came to Lausanne for just a night with several friends, and I am in love with this hotel. The rooms are small, tv is tiny, and beds aren't so great. However, the rooms are beautiful, bathrooms recently updated with baths and my towel warmer is quite handy. I would definite recommend this hotel to my friends! We booked off of tripadvisor and spent $100 for a Friday night. Not bad!

We were surprisingly pleased with our stay at Hôtel de la Paix in November, 2021. We chose to stay…read morebecause of the location and level of service, but then were impressed by the quality of the room interiors (which the pictures didn't do justice to). The front desk staff was exceptionally helpful securing us a last minute reservation for dinner w/ our kids at Le Chat Noir, which was a fantastic meal. The front desk had to call many places to find a place with availability and they were happy to do so. And the location was close to everything - Restaurants of all kinds, coffee shops, the cathedral, the main sights downtown. The train station was a bit further but still just a long walk. The hotel also includes a free transit pass. I would highly recommend Hôtel de la Paix if you're staying Lausanne, a beautiful city.
