It's a molecular gastronomy or either a science-based cooking (cuisine moléculaire in French). The served 22 dishes were extremely creative. The experiments with taste and texture were intriguing. After seeing glowing reviews on numerous sites, I decided to stop by to try some fondue while I was…read morein town. Although the service was fine, the dining experience turned out to be all around pretty lackluster. The restaurant is on the smaller side and felt a bit claustrophobic with the low-rounded ceiling and few windows. The lighting was also really bright, in contrast to other restaurants which use dim/warm lighting for dinner service. I was seated at the corner of a long table and felt a bit pressed against the wall, as the bench on which I sat was fairly thin and there was only about a foot of space between the table and the wall (to my back). I don't know about the other menu items, but the price point was a bit high for fondue. Standard fondue is 24 CHF and fondue with morel mushrooms (morrilles) is a few CHF more. Curious, I decided to try the fondue with morels and paired it with a glass of white wine. The wine was good and the fondue tasted fine, but turns out there were barely any discernible morel crumbs in the fondue, far from being worth the upcharge. On top of that, the portion was very small and the bread was not fresh. I felt like I was caught in a tourist trap. I've dined at some other places in Lausanne that felt more comfortable and had better fondue. I'd probably stick with those next time I'm in town.

I don't know if that was the true serving or because the dish was supposed to have escargots. My friend had the steak dish. The only reason I can't give this place 5 stars is because the dishes we really wanted were out. I wanted to try some authentic French cuisine. They were out of the roast beef. The two gentlemen in charge were very charming. I wanted the Creme brûlée but they were out of that too. So they suggested the apple pastry. My dining companion absolutely loved it. She rarely gets to eat apple pastry desserts because she's allergic to cinnamon. This dessert didn't have cinnamon but was caramel based. I on the other hand love my apple desserts with a bunch of cinnamon and nutmeg. Oh and the white stuff is not ice cream, it's cream. I love cream. I wish this had a little more sugar. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience. The two gentlemen in charge were great and made the experience enjoyable and made very good suggestions.

Atmosphere 5/5: The atmosphere is great as written earlier. This is a prime and upscale place to have a drink and enjoy the view. It might get a little bit crowded during the week-ends and you might have to wait 30-45min for a table outside! Food 3/5: Food is descent, I haven't had the chance to try all the menu but from past experience, the food is good. I just think it's a little bit overprice for what they're giving you. I understand paying 25-30CHF for an Entree but I just think that for the same price, you can have higher quality in another place. This is maybe more a Café than Restaurant. Service 4/5: Good service overall. You might have to wait a little bit before your order to be taken if it's busy. Enjoy your time, this is again an upscale place compared to other places in Lausanne. You won't find any drinks cheaper than 6 CHF which is the price of an Espresso. Beer starts at 10 CHF and Wine at 12 CHF. Soft Drinks are at 8 CHF just so you're aware about it! Last but not least, you have an 1hr complimentary Wi-Fi!
