Through the beauty of Yelp, found this spot & what a fantastic find! Most important note that the…read morelocation is actually Moléson and not Gruyères like the address noted. I have attempted to update this Yelp address but worst case, go to google to see the correct address.....in Moléson Farm animals & rollercoaster landmarks helped to ensure we were in the right spot We parked at the bottom of the gravel road in an empty lot across the street - the road leading to the fromagerie is pedestrian only, so this will be your closest parking. Small incline leads you to deliciousness. There is a small case of cheeses and meats to the left and the restaurant is to the right. Very traditional setup with wooden tables and benches. We loved it from the first minute! We ordered the macaroni with cheese (it was penne but outstandingly scrumptious). The cheeses and caramelized onions were the perfect blend Also enjoyed the croûte with an egg.......this is much like a croque without the meat......it was heaven! As we ere lucky enough to find this lace at the beginning of our stay in the Gruyère district, you better believe we'll be coming back for that fondue!

There are a lot of farm animals at the restaurant for the kids to play with and there is even a roller coaster adjacent to the restaurant that they can ride on. The scenery was just particularly beautiful and it was a beautiful day celebrating with friends. We had cheese fondue bears and lots of fun!

It's all about the double cream, meringues and berries. But, alas, at this particular stop in…read moreGruyeres the customer service was so off point that the double cream didn't make the difference. For example, our waitress forgot our order of dessert and then after we asked, it took another 30 minutes of waiting until we had it. The quiche served with light greens was delightful. I appreciated the unexpected hint of clove sprinkled in. The Rostï however, was on the greasy side. If you're looking for a peaceful spot off the street to enjoy the mountain views and a glass of wine, the atmosphere is quite lovely with the backdrop of the church in the distance. This is one of the first restaurants you'll hit when you enter the Old Town of Gruyeres.

We sought out this restaurant because of the pictures on Yelp. When we arrived and asked to be…read moreseated on the patio where the pictures were taken, we were told those pictures we NOT this restaurant. We decided to sit on the patio alongside the road, anyhow. After looking at the menu we decided to order four plates of appetizers to share between the four adults and three kids that were present. The waiter then informed us that today was a buffet and it was less expensive to just do four buffet plates and get the same items off the buffet then to order them directly from the menu. We were thankful for his information, at the time. I then carefully clarified TWICE that we were allowed to just pay the $12 per plate price, even though there were seven of us, regardless of how many plates we used (we planned on using 4 or less). He also confirmed TWICE and said that the restaurant only charges per plate, opposed to per person. Since we were just snacking, anyhow, we decided this was the best decision for our group. We ended up only taking three plates of food for the seven of us. These plates were just three plates filled with meats and cheeses from the buffet. When we went to pay our bill, the same server who confirmed with us that we would just be charged for the amount of plates we used, insisted that we pay for six plates of food. We ended up paying over $100 for some appetizers that would have cost us $60 in the beginning. We should have realized how sketchy this place was the moment they told us in the beginning that the yelp pictures were not of that restaurant. AND the food was just par. Stay away. There are too many amazing places and people to surround yourself with in this area to waste time here.
