Suns is pretty unique from your Costco and Sam's as they have a larger variety of unique seafoods. They are the only place in Houston I can find raw chicken nuggets that you have to cook fully. This means it tastes much better with less of those preprocessed ingredients. I go here exclusively for my snow crabs and beef fajitas. The quality is off the charts and the size of the snow crabs are massive compared to the tiny ones at your local grocery store. I also find some excellent authentic Asian ingredients and it's always so convenient to pop in and out of there really quickly. What I dislike about it however is their online shopping is non-existent. Their web site isn't helpful at all so don't think you can go there to browse anything. You have to go there to see what they offer. You also don't have to commit to a yearly membership. You can pay like $5 for a daily membership and buy anything in the store you want in that one trip. I felt like walking into an oversized warehouse with double width driveways. I only went through a few aisles, chilling. Majority of stuff are still in boxes. I can only assume if you come shop here frequently, you know what are in there. Price tags are a little confusing. I'm not even gonna go there because I am a casual shopper. Since I don't own or operate a food service, those merchandise won't attract my attention. The only thing I could consider buying is stuff in smaller quantities. Believe or not, I actually bought a membership card for those occasional shopping trips when I really need stuff for the mass. So, I would come back on a long journey here, if I return to North Golden Sun Plaza one of these days.

They ring everything up, then discount a percentage off each item, kind of like creative financing in the 80's. They do it this way because each item has to get taxed. If they did it the other way there wouldn't be taxes. So you are still responsible for paying tax on each item, no free bath wash. Even when I've received coupons and used them, I've still ended up leaving there with a huge chunk of change out of my wallet, wondering "how" I received a "discount". It would be well worth it if they carried my favorites continuously, but no. Whenever my previous purchase runs out and I have to go buy a new set of body wash, lotion and spritz, they have totally changed the label or do not carry it in that formula any longer. So I end up wandering the store dodging the high pressure sales ladies on the floor, looking for something previously comparable. Ugh! Very frustrating. They do have a whole new expanded store, but if I end up staying there too long, the combined smells nauseate me. I will try going back in at a later time when the sting has worn off my wallet. Plus, when the new H-E-B opened at Gosling/2920, I was so impressed with that store, that I did my regular shopping there. How the tables have turned. I've started returning to this location because the Gosling/2920 H-E-B is constantly out of half of the items on my grocery list and customer service is non-existent. I was so surprised to find here: 1. Prices on some items are actually lower than other H-E-B locations; 2. Customer service now is incredible. Easy to find employees who know what they're talking about and easy to find an actual manager; 3. Stock is replenished regularly, rarely with an empty shelf displayed. If you're looking for an item that's not carried, they will order it for you (already did this on several items - super pleased!). Traffic and parking is still a nightmare, but my shopping experience while in the store is excellent. This is now *my* H-E-B. Way to turn this location around!

They have a large selection of toddler, teen, young adult, How To books, craft books and history books. Almost all of the books I bought were $2.99/$3.99. Regular price was $19.99 and $14.99! I usually don't solicit assistance from the associates, but this time around I did and I was very grateful and pleased with their suggestions. While some of the styles here can be on the pricey side, hit them up during a sale or when everything in the store is 40% off (as I did) and you can get some nice clothes for far less than you'd expect. Lots of parking, a well-kept and comfortable dressing room area, friendly employees and you don't have to go to the mall (the best part). Actual store is arranged nicely so you can piece together separates that actually do go together without having to sift through crammed, unorganized racks. A decent sized petite section, too.
