Fantastic food and service with a nice view of the lake! Perches fish from the lake. A must in Geneva

Very good restaurant near the water in Geneva. The salmon and risotto were excellent. Only reason it's not 5 stars is because of the location. It's very hard to relax on the patio with so many cars and people going by in such a tight space

To be honest I came to this restaurant because I was in a standby list that failed to result in a table at another well known restaurant near by. I was super skeptical about this place based on looks of the establishment considering it had a mishmash of art from classical to bar art on the wall with no rhyme or reason to it and the future and interior was super dated. The service was absolutely wonderful, it was the best we have had in Geneva. Our waiter was so attentive and actually somewhat talkative (but not too much) and you could tell really enjoyed his job. The wine list was extensive and average price. I opted for a house Bordeaux and it was a decent pour and a very good quality wine for a house variety. I had the chicken and mushrooms and it was so tender and super flavorful. The sauce had the perfect creamy flavor with the right combination of French spices. My wife had the beef filet with mustard sauce and it was tender with a nice flavor. For dessert we shared the tiramisu. It was very large but it was just ok. I felt like there was too much expresso liquid in the dessert causing the cake portions be extremely wet. I would definitely come back to this restaurant on my next trip to Geneva

Still jet lagged from our flight, we woke up around 2 pm trying to get lunch. When we arrived around 3, Casanova was one of the few restaurants open, and it was pretty crowded (usually a good sign). The decor reminded me of a casual cafe and it was a bit on the smaller side, but our server was super funny and very friendly with us. I ordered the Caesar salad and rump steak with mustard sauce. The salad was delicious, with fresh vegetables and very good cheese. The steak was very well cooked and the mustard sauce that came with it had a nutty and slightly sweet taste that really elevated the flavor of the dish. The fries were crisp but not as salty as I would've liked it (though I'll admit that American fries have conditioned me for copious amounts of salt). All in all, if I'm ever back in Geneva, I'd definitely come back again. Casanova has hilarious staff and good food near a great shopping area. The only down side is that this place is pretty pricey. Not good. Smoked salmon OFF and the pasta premise basic at best. Over priced but the service was friendly. Suggest somewhere else.

We ordered the mixed platter, one kibbie, and a small tabouli salad. The Kibbie was so good that we finished before we were able to take a picture...sorry. The Mixed Platter was great. It had chicken, lamb, kofta with a bit of labne, hummus, and a salad of lettuce, tomato and onion. The tabouli was beautiful and it also eaten almost completely before we got a picture. All of the food was some of the best Lebanese food we have had. Service was great. The atmosphere was hopping with lots of locals enjoying their Sunday lunch. No reservations taken. The place is large so if there is a wait it won't take long. Highly recommend.

Merveilleux! Magnifique! And I don't even speak French!…read more We were directed to this café by a tour guide and through online recommendations. It was one of very few eating establishments near our hotel, so given its popularity and being aware of the need to have reservations for dinner, we decided to try a mid-day lunch. There was nobody eating indoors, so we selected an outside table. The area is mostly shady and has a nice feel, but tables are rather closely spaced, and if you're sensitive to cigarette smoke, you might not enjoy this. The menu has many classical Swiss dishes, and the place is best known for its outstanding fondue. We ordered this to share. A carafe of water, our wine, and a basket of not-so-fresh crusty bread (uncubed) came first. Then the fondue (in a cast iron pot), my gazpacho, and my husband's salad arrived. The waiter offered a half portion of salad, which was perfect. My gazpacho was slightly textured, had hints of garlic, onion, and peppers, and came with mini-croutons. It was perfect on that hot afternoon. But the star of our lunch was the amazing fondue, which was thick and flavorful. We did have to cut up the bread for dipping, and it certainly could have been fresher. There were lots of sparrows trying to get their share of it. All in all, this was a great afternoon meal at a reasonable cost (for Switzerland, anyhow). We'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Since the place is known for fondue, we had to get that and it was really good. I could have just eaten that and been fine but I didn't know that ahead of time and ordered some ravioli, which was very good too. Service was fairly friendly and the food was great, so I give it two thumbs up. I will say the seating is a little tight but they're trying to give as many people as possible the opportunity to eat here so I get it.

On my first visit, without a reservation, I was seated on the side in a nice and quiet area, which allowed me to see the huge case of desserts, take out coffee station, etc. In addition, there is food for take out, order from the menu or some nice sandwiches, salads and soups. On that maiden visit I ordered the plat du jour, eggplant parmesan....delicious, perfectly cooked eggplant and tasty sauce. I also tasted my colleagues plate, moussaka...very good as well. On my second visit, today, I was a group of 9 (with reservation), we sat in a nice private seating area, still visible to the main dining room...here I also chose the plat du jour...did not get the name, but it was a slow cooked beef in an oniony tomato sauce, served with mashed potatoes and soup or salad. Again, delicious. Dessert...tiramisu..delicious. The wait staff, wow, super nice, smiling, attentive, fast...Fast is not the word, yes, we ordered the plat du jour so that is usually a fast item, but this was served with lightening speed. A truly enjoyable meal again. As my office has the worst cafeteria in all of Geneva, I am super happy that this place is around the corner. They also are open until 11 so you can go after work for drinks and snacks...they do NOT close at 2 PM like other restaurants in the city....refreshing to find a business where they actually want to make money. It may be my happy hour location as well, stay tuned.
