You may think this is just another Hipster place. It's not. Waiters know what they are serving, and they're particularly patient. Dishes, while not abundant, are extremely risky, innovative, and worth the price. Sugar beet, sweet potato and chorizo for a brunch is not common, but delicious. Eggs in pots are the best choice for those with a slim figure or a slim budget! The manager may want to add an overhead door closer for the toilette. Slamming it every time a client enters or exits is very annoying! read more

Perhaps one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. I could happily eat the fruit platter and brioche every day. For such a reasonable price, I was blown away by the quality of the fresh baked breads, cheeses, and fruits. It was even served with a bit of homemade jam. Amazing discovery ! After a night of party and quite a lot of alcohol, we needed something to get the day started and rolling. So here I am, checking on Yelp what nice place we could go to have a brunch. And here it is, 4 and half stars, quite close to our place, and the pictures look appetizing. 15 minutes later here we are, taking a seat at the back of the restaurant. It's just before noon and pretty crowded already. A very good sign. First of all : the menu offers a english translation. Why, thank you, i still don't speak german so it's perfect. My friend didn't have to translate everything twice as usual (sorry Hannah). A quick check and we're set. The waiter came and we ordered. He was nice and smiling. Good point. Our drinks came very quickly. It'll take some more time to get the food. I ordered pancakes and bacon scrambled eggs. Well my dear Yelpers, it was a damn fine brunch i'm telling you. The pancakes turned out to be a crepe actually, but such a good one that i couldn't care less. Just a matter of vocabulary i guess. It was served with cut fresh fruits on a bowl and mapple syrup. Then the bacon scrambled eggs. It was warm enough but not too much : the sign of a meal cooked just right before it ended up on my table. Served with a bowl of butter to go with the fresh and warm bread provided and some fresh fruits. Nicely put up together on the plate, everything looked as great as it tasted. The toilets were very clean and actually very big. It's decorated as an apartment. Not a flat's bathroom. A flat. There's literally a bike inside. Made me laugh and felt comfy. This establishment has a very rude waitress who took forever seating us even when there were clearly open tables. Then a different waitress seated another party who came after us ahead of us. The rude waitress treated us with contempt and disgust throughout our interactions. When another waiter finally seated us, the rude waitress walked over 10 minutes later abrasively telling us to move to another table so a party of 3 other girls could take our spot. She didn't offer water. She didn't give us a bread basket when everyone else in the restaurant got a complimentary bread basket. We had to ask to place our orders, and when she took them, she didn't make eye contact with us and had a face of contempt and derision. She provided terse incomplete responses that felt very dismissive. We noticed she was very smiley and friendly with everyone else around us when she took their orders. I think she could tell towards the middle of our service that we were disappointed in her attitude so she then had other waiters complete our service. I will leave this here as an observation, but we were the only ones in the restaurant who didn't look like everyone else. While I acknowledge the food was decent, I would say this rude waitress lady's offensive attitude, lack of manners, and terrible service, makes me never want to come back here. read more

Very hipster setting, with a purposefully run-down aesthetic. The menu was very good but the execution was a bit lacking. The eggs with chorizo and sweet potatoes is a great concept, but just went overboard with ingredients. It could've done without the bbq sauce, which overpowered the other flavors. This place has good food. However, the service can be a little slow. Also, there are a number of people who like to sit outside and smoke. It sort of defeats the purpose if you're going to eat healthy. Otherwise, the food is fresh and healthy. Try the fresh mint tea, the salads, or one of the deserts. read more

We picked this place for a Sunday brunch, even though it was a bit out of the way, for its good reviews, and we were not disappointed. Very good coffee and tea, tasty bread, and great egg dishes (mine was with chorizo and oven-baked). Slightly disappointing that they didn't have freshly pressed orange juice. So we tried to go to bastard cafe on our first day in Berlin, but for personal reasons they were closed. Luckily on our last day we tried again and they were open. It's a really cute restaurant! And their presentation of food was wonderful! We got the breakfast platter (we as in a group of three girls), yogurt, and two fried eggs over sweet potatoes and chorizo. That last dish I mentioned...PERFECTION! It was so good! I don't know why people don't think of Berlin as a foodie place, because I loved every place I went to here!! Be sure to choose your seating carefully because when we got to the restaurant, we were sitting in the shade, but after we got our food, our backs were completely exposed and it was unbearably hot. We had to quickly eat and leave because we just couldn't take the 90 degree sun beating on us! So you should definitely come here for breakfast!! It was amazing and we loved it. read more

We went here a Saturday morning, ordered a vegan breakfast plate (9,90 euro) to share and some coffee. The service was lousy, we waited for over 20 minutes to get our coffee and when I asked the waiter why it took so long she responded saying "be patient, you have to be patient". Not so nice hearing after that we have waited that long for our coffees. When the breakfast came in after 35 minutes waiting, it was amazing. Different types of home made bread, pesto, nutspread, fruits, jam, hummus and so on. So: definitely worth it for the food, not for service and that long waiting. read more

Wow this is gourmet food in a relaxed easy going setting in Kreuzberg. We had the lentil soup and Schnitzel on asparagus,small potatoes and salad. It was divine! Extremely rude waiter! The guy didn't really like the fact that we were speaking English. He gave me the wrong drink and insisted that I ordered this one. When my friend asked him about having sweet potato with her meal he simply said "NO". At the end, I wanted to pay 15€ for my share of the meal and he insisted that I tell him the exact items and after accepting he told my friend that she needs to pay "At least" 9€. Funny thing was that he referred to Euro as "German Cash". I still can't believe people like this exist in metropolitans. Food was mediocre with fancy presentation. So nothing special... read more

Outstanding! in a city where I'm often waiting an unbelievable amount of time for my food and this place has great and fast service. The food is so good.....they made me a vegetarian option of the fried eggs and sweet potato with chilli jam (goats cheese instead of chorizo) and it certainly did not disappoint. the only reason i dont give it a five star is so they dont blow up and raise prices, change, etc. staying a few blocks away in kreuz you cant find a better brunch joint just off the canal and on a chill shady street. the servers were cool, nice, helpful, and dont hate cool americans, so that may be good for you. berliners are the best, this is a great spot read more

Lovely new restaurant in our Kiez. The decoration is very tasteful, the menu small but of high quality and we loved the style and friendliness of the service. We had the goat cheese package with homemade bread and the sweet potato and weichkase. Both were wonderful, but the best was the desert: a fantastic, light crumble with cherries.
