One of the nicest dinners we have had in our two weeks in France. The waitress was super friendly and welcoming, spoke great English (and French and German). We were the only English speakers this night. The grilled foie-gras entre (appetizer) came with two sauces, a spectacular veal sauce with a section of polenta, and a (possibly?) clam sauce. The chicken came with a light mushroom sauce with no, or little cream, and was corsely salted with the skin on and was delicious. The cheese plate with a selection of local farmhouse cheeses, was also great, with wheaty organic seeded bagutte and organic traditional baguette. We had a great local Rittersberg Pinot blanc, that was unusual and delicious. All in all a great meal, in a beautiful historic town, in Alsace. read more
