The food is outstanding!! I had the baba ghanoush, sample platter, and original kanafa and everything blew me away! It was all so fresh and tasty!! I've never had kanafa before but it was crazy and I would recommend trying it if you haven't, it was really fun as it's just very different from the typical desserts in the United States!!

I absolutely love Mediterranean food, especially the Mediterranean food I've experienced back home, so I was really excited to try a new spot. The restaurant itself was very clean, quiet, and easy to navigate. You order at the counter and they bring your food out, and the staff was friendly enough. I just wasn't overly impressed with the overall experience. I ordered the chicken shawarma pita, which came with lentil soup. Unfortunately, the shawarma was pretty mediocre for me. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't something that left me thinking, "I can't wait to come back and get this again." I was especially looking forward to the lentil soup, but unfortunately, it was so hot that it actually burned through the bottom of the container and leaked all through the bag. By the time we realized what had happened, a good portion of the meal had been ruined. The one thing I will say is that the garlic sauce was really good! My daughter also enjoyed her chicken tenders and fries, so there were definitely some positives. Overall, I'm glad we tried Sahara, but based on this particular visit, I wouldn't be rushing back. I think there's potential for it to be a good spot, but my first experience just didn't wow me the way I was hoping it would.

I was excited they decided to return to the 87th Street corridor. I ordered to-go from the counter and the server was pleasant. They have a $8 lunch special which seems hard to pass up. I got the gyro sandwich with rice instead of fries. My first concern was when I heard the microwave start. Not positive but can't rule out this was yesterday's food. I will say the portion of meat was generous but didn't taste great. The rice had NO flavor...not even salt. Needless to say, when I crave Mediterranean I will be going across the street to Holy Land which never disappoints. I wish them luck but doubt I will return.

All of the waitstaff were friendly, attentive and helpful. The hummus here is prime. So delicious, nothing like it! My lamb was tender with all the Mediterranean flavor just as if you were in Greece. I love the toasted veggies, potatoes and creamy garlic sauce is cool and flavorful. The plate can be shared but I just had leftovers for home. My mom got the salmon. She said it was seasoned well, tender, well done but juicy.

I'm always taking food home. The fresh vegetables they served in our salads were positively the freshest we've enjoyed outside of our home. The Lamb was magnificent! Also the falafel and the hummus were the best we've ever had. Smooth and savory, without being too acidic and overpowering with lemon. The entire meal was unforgettable in a great way! We'll be loyal patrons for life! So glad they opened this location so close to our home. They also serve up the best fresh squeezed lemonade ice ever had... I ordered the mint flavored lemonade. However, they have cherry, strawberry, and blueberry as well.. all fresh made to order. Only one size... about 32 ounces... also enough to share! We highly recommend at "any hour", always hot, and always fresh to order! A must try!

My order was served 13 minutes after I ordered at the counter, where the service was welcoming and cheerful. I liked the olive oil, mixed spices, sriracha, garlic sauce, roasted red pepper sauce and sriracha mayo available at the tables or in dispensers near the bar.
