It's a 5 min walk from the main road. It's honestly the cheapest meal I had in Cabo. But the one that had the biggest portions. At the moment if you come in with a family with three dishes I think you'll be set to keep it 100. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and by how good the service was. They don't have chopsticks lol . Was one funny thing here. We got the orange chicken looking (pollo a la naranja or something like that ) dish and some Mongolian beef . Our first impression was not good, tainted by the bathroom air freshener/butt crack smell and the lack of cleanliness. We were completely ignored for several minutes. When we were grudgingly seated we waited a few more minutes before being silently handed a sloppy unappetizing menu. Okay When you're craving Asian, the quantity is good the price point is excellent. The interpretations of fast Chinese Food are a bit hit and miss. Shark fin soup: strings of shark fin, ground meat, shrimp, imitation crab, egg, altogether pleasing basic version that felt homey. I would order this again. Largest jug of lemonade with sparkling water is a large acrylic pitcher size, not overly sweet. Appetizer platter: vegetable egg rolls, lap cheurng Chinese sausage, char siu - a bit dry, Marcona almonds, cream cheese won ton. This needs balance. Keep in mind that anything with sauce will have a heavy portion of sauce and many items are fried. Combo or Paquete contains fried rice and egg roll with dish chosen. We chose 18 and 20 - Fried shrimp was butterfly style with crispy crumb coating. This was reasonably good and also came with French fries in addition to fried rice and egg roll. I would order this again. - Spicy shrimp is not spicy although chili is cooked with onion and celery and bell pepper, shrimp has a thick flour batter and I enjoyed this more after peeling off the batter. This was our least favorite We also ordered Mongolian chicken, breaded in flour like the spicy shrimp. Sauce was heavy and sweet but tasty, more reminiscent of sweet and sour. Perhaps worth a break, seems to be a favorite of locals. Do not come with high expectations and keep track of balancing amount of sauce and fried aspects and you may fare well. I am a part time resident in the Los Cabos area and I have gone to 168 Cafe several times over the last 5 years. In the beginning the food, portions, service and cleanliness were 5 stars. It was on our recommended list. BUT, over the last couple of years something changed - new owners?, new cook?, or new business plan (increase prices and reduce quality and quantity)? Who knows, maybe a combination of all three! I ate there last week, and that was the last straw! No mas for me - less than average food, smaller portions, cheap noodle substitution, lack of service, and a substantial increase in prices. I will not be going back again, ever. My recommendation is to avoid this place, there are better choices elsewhere in Cabo. read more

A great find (use Google - NOT YELP "Get Directions" - YELP takes you to wrong place!). Very reasonably priced! Has very tasty China Combination (on the beef menu) - beef, chicken, pork and shrimp with lots of veges eg broccoli, carrot and onion (125 pesos). The chicken chop suey (110 pesos) was mainly bean sprouts and carrots but had lots of large chunks of chicken. We ordered the "bowl" of white rice for 40 pesos which was enough for 2 of us. In hind site we probably should have ordered the one dish (China combination) as we couldn't finish all the food! Service was very friendly! Excellent for Mexico. Fresh food with wide selection and large helpings at low price. If you like USA casual chinese sit down experience this is the place to fill that need in Cabo. They use all white chicken meat in most dishes and even have shark fin soup. We even saw local chinese people that spoke fluebt spanish eating nearby. This is not upscale and no alcohol but really a good solid food experience for chinese. read more

This guy came through for us when we needed delivery at 10pm up in Pedregal. We ordered lo mein, fried rice, orange chicken, fried shrimp, and beef and broccoli. Portions were large and quality was on par with most Chinese restaurants in America. The BBQ pork was good. Really liked he fried shrimp. Lo mein was so yummy. The only difference was that it was made with noodles that tasted like packaged ramen noodles. Esteban was super nice. We got a whole box of white rice with our order and lots of makeshift to-go box bowls. He was so thoughtful. This is not Chinese food. I eat Chinese food all the time; I even cook Chinese food on occasion but to call this Chinese food is so wrong. It was nothing like any Chinese food I have eaten before, it was very bad. We ordered chow mein that looked like ramen that was frozen. Orange chicken that made Panda Express's orange chicken taste like gourmet food. Mongolian beef that made you ask - where's the beef underneath all the vegetables. On the plus side, people were nice at the restaurant. But I would say this is very clearly the worst food let alone Chinese food we have ever had. The food was just awesome at Chino 168. We were so grateful to Vanessa for accommodating our vegetarian diet. The owner made sure that all dishes didn't have any meat or fish or eggs, otherwise we wouldn't be able to eat at this place. We visited the place twice and ordered tofu vegetables, fried veg rice, spring rolls, chowmein. The spice level was quite appropriate. Note it's not Indo Chinese, but authentic Chinese/Thai kind of food. Definitely recommend to anyone who has any diet restrictions to visit here. The portion sizes were also very good and the it is one the least expensive restaurant that I visited during my trip. Thanks Vanessa once again for hosting us. read more

I think that this restaurant is better that the other Chinese restaurants I have tried in Cabo. Everything I tried was good. The item that brought me back 3 days in a row was the Shark Fin Soup. I'm a Chinese. After 10 days of tacos, it's refreshing to find and dine at a Chinese restaurant in this corner of the world. I got mandarin chicken combo. The fish comes with half veggie and chicken and half fried rice with chicken. All and all, 110 pesos for huge amount of food. I had the rest for dinner and still a little left. Super delicious and omg, so much chicken. Loved the food and drinks and definitely recommend those who want something different every once in a while. read more

DO NOT go by the pics on here showing heaping portions with lost of ingredients e.g. meats.......They changed chefs, menus, ingredients and recipes ....... it is a major revamp and downgrade in quality, quantity and taste. If you just want a bunch of really low quality cost-cutting ingredients and 99% rice/veggies in any meat advertised dish then you should be good to go. At least it's not greasy and the portions are still large with fresh veggies. For example, the "shrimp" rice used to be cooked to order rice fried with a couple dozen or more whole shrimp mixed in. Now it is fried rice that has been sitting there for hours put in the container with three "split in half" shrimp laced across the top so you see three when you open the carton...nothing tossed into the rice below. The lo main used to have proper lo main noodles. Now it is Top Ramen noodles. Gross. The won tons were made to order. Now they are soggy and folded up into small chewy triangles, cooked hours before and dolled out during the day. The pork used to be the regular Chinese BBQ sliced pork...the red stuff with crisp edges that tastes so good. Now it's this boiled light brown garbage with no taste and a chewy texture. Oh, and you want to make sure they give you the egg roll included per the menu on the combos. We got our food to go and it was not in there. Even so, this is the second time we had the food with the "new" style and the egg roll really is not worth it---greasy and soggy. Bottom line---whoever has the place now found every way to cut costs and in the process cut the quality in half too. read more
