After eating nothing but buffets at the RIU Palace resort, we ventured out for some comfort food. While strolling down the boardwalk we stumbled upon this place. It was empty during peak dinner hours, which in hindsight should have been a telltale sign but, we didn't think anything of it as Asian food was hard to come by in that area. Our party of six decided to sit in the outdoor patio overlooking the Harbor. The menu, while limited looked promising. For starters we opted for the Gyozas and Chicken Satay. Both were decent but, nothing to write home about. Following our appz, we had their Malaya Coconut, Tuna Rolls, Caramelized Salmon, Caramelized Pork Ribs and Chicken Pad Thai. Each dish that came out was worse than the last. They lacked the proper Asian flavorings with some dishes being devoid of flavors altogether. For instance, the Chicken Pad Thai had an overwhelming flavor of ketchup while the Malaya Coconut was bland and watery and the Caramelized Ribs were tangy and one noted. This was the trend with all of the other entrees. Service was just about the only pleasant thing during our dining experience. Our server was very friendly and helpful. The price is moderate considering the location however, I feel that it's overpriced for mediocre food and I would not recommend this place. read more

Came here to eat because it was a part of the all inclusive for Marina Fiesta. Our reservation was for 7pm on a Thursday in the middle of August. For the entirety of our meal, we were the only diners in the restaurant. ORDERED: Tibet roll, oyster roll, salmon temaki, salmon sashimi, mixed sashimi, salmon salad, New York cheesecake, margaritas, coronas, and waters. PROS: Our server, Cristopher, was pretty good. He was attentive, made good suggestions, and checked in on us often. CONS: The food. The food was only meh. It tasted like something you buy from the supermarket in the refrigerated aisle, except this sushi was room temperature instead of being cold. The fish was mushy, soaked in the sauces, and not at all fresh. Also, the fish was room temperature/borderline warm. Bleh. Every roll had a Philadelphia roll base/filling and there was tons of cream cheese in them. The rice was also very mushy and overbearing. There was way more rice then there needed to be. We had the margaritas both on the rocks and blended. Each order of margarita was made completely different. In the blended order, the margarita was so salty. The salt wasn't because of the rim, the drink itself tasted like someone poured a handful of salt into it. For the second round of drinks, we ordered margaritas on the rocks. One of the cups was really sweet, and the other one tasted like there was only tequila in there (not necessarily complaining ). Ultimately, we ended up ordering coronas - because you can't screw that up... For dessert, we ordered tempura ice cream. Unfortunately, our server informed us that they had run out of this. So instead, we ordered a NY cheesecake. It was just okay. Nothing special or fancy. We were seated in the outdoor seating area. While we were eating, there were three recently flies who would not leave us alone! It was quite bothersome. Towards the end of the meal, there was a bee who joined in with the flies. This bee, though, was even more relentless than the flies and would not leave even after being swatted (making contact!) a few times. It flew on our cheesecake, into our margaritas, and everywhere in between. All while this was happening, our server and 5 other employees stood by idly watching us, talking about us, and laughing amongst one another! It was kind of annoying. Ultimately, we knew going into this place that this wasn't going to be the best sushi we've ever had or even anywhere near it. What we did hope for, though, was for the seafood to be much fresher and better prepared. BOTTOM LINE: Don't go. We loved our experience here and I'm guessing the reason is that we did a little research before making our reservation. A reservation? Yes, people! A reservation. You don't make it because the place is busy, which it isn't, you make it because you want the restaurant to be prepared for what you want! Comprendo? Our reservation was clear, concise, and specific. "There will be six of us, we will be right on time, and we want the hibachi table." If you don't have this table reserved, Imomo is simply another Cabo restaurant slinging fish in sushi form. The hibachi table transformed our experience from a simple sit-down into a watered down Benihana. The portions were overwhelming and the quality was great, especially considering that our meal was included in our all-inclusive package at Marina Fiesta. The winning dish would have to be the one that included chicken, shrimp, steak, and lobster (for an additional $10.00). Three of us ordered the upgrade and the entire table was SHOCKED when we saw whole lobsters arrive at our table. It was way too much food but none of us were complaining. We ate what we could before throwing in the towel and it's safe to say that we all left fat(ter) and very, very happy. Seeing that this was included in the Marina Fiesta AI package we will certainly be back, especially since we loved the resort so much! read more

Our party of 6 came here to dine as part of the all inclusive package through Marina Fiesta Resort. We came for dinner on our first night here and had an awesome experience! Our waitress was super helpful and attentive. The experience was so amazing that we decided to come back again for dinner the next evening. Unfortunately, the second night was a complete nightmare. We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated inside the main dining room. A tall young man was our server. It wasn't until about 10 minutes after we were seated did he finally ask us what we wanted to drink. Then after ordering just water, we waited another 5-10 minutes before he gave us the menu but our drinks never came. Another server from the Presto restaurant came over apparently to help out and he was the one who finally gave us our water. To make the long story short, every time we placed an order, the tall young man never wrote them down. We would place our orders and the food either came out really late (some took an hour and some took over an hour and a half) or he just never placed our order with the sushi chef or cook. One person in our party ordered two maki rolls and it took an hour and a half for him to finally get it. There were other parties who came in after us, ate and left before we even received our food. The place wasn't busy at all but we could not for the life of us, figure out why this server was so incompetent. We got so frustrated that we literally had to walk out....still hungry! Regardless of the quality of food, if the service isn't satisfactory, it could really make or break your reputation. Because of this experience, i will never ever go back again. Three stars for the best waiter in Cabo - Raul. He didn't mind our picky preferences or questions and he was really quick. He recommended some good dessert. The rice on the rolls were sweet, the sauces were artificial bright colors, the ramen and udon were terrible, there was too much rice on the rolls, and they did not have reduced sodium soy sauce. But other than that, this was the place to get your Asian fix and was apart of the Marina Fiesta all inclusive. The tempura ice cream is ok. We should have known when we saw this place was rated low on yelp to not dine here but with an all inclusive plan, we didn't have much of a choice. Let's just say if we had to pay this out of pocket, we would not dine here. We ordered sashimi which was soaked in sauce and didn't seem very fresh at all, yakitori which was more like shish kabobs, edadmame which was standard (can't mess up there). The kurricanes were tuna, sashimi wrapped around imitation crab with avocado which were just ok. For the rolls we ordered spicy tuna, banana, unagi, Immono, posiedon and a salmon and tuna maki roll. They stuffed a lot of cream cheese and rice onto the rolls. The only thing we really enjoyed was the banana roll and maki rolls. If they didn't add so much rice to the maki rolls and gave larger pieces of the fish, that would have been better. FYI the unagi maki roll is an extra charge and not part of the all inclusive. Service was also really slow especially when it was just us or another couple as patrons of the restaurant. The tempura ice cream was also standard and one of the best desserts you can get at the all inclusive, which isn't saying a whole lot about their dessert choices. read more

This was not only one of the worst sushi restaurants I have ever been to, but one of the worst overall restaurant experiences I have ever had. We came during the day after a boat charter. When we walked in we were the only people there (yep, always a bad idea, and that ones on us) but it was 1:30 in the afternoon and so it wasn't that weird. Long story short, the waiter was a really nice guy, but the sushi was awful. Fish for sure was not fresh, which is strange because they are bringing fresh sushi off the dock about 20 feet away. Not only was the fish rubbery and for sure not fresh, there was barely any in the rolls. I ordered the Ramen, which was a total joke. It tasted like chicken soup with some noodles in there, which, by the way, were hard. The 6 things we ordered, literally took an hour and fifteen minutes. During our meal, another couple did come in and they walked out after 30 minutes. Just all around bad, bad, bad. Do not waste your time or "dining experience" here. Trust me. read more

Came here as it was part of our all-inclusive plan even though we were staying 30 minutes towards San Jose del Cabo at the sister resort. I am a fisherman who loves sushi. This place is on a marina with lots of fishing boats around. I'm certain their connections for getting fish needs a ton of work. Perhaps walk 30 metres to the boats and get some fresh stuff. My meal of 3 rolls and 8 pieces was real bad. And it would have cost US$58 if I had to pay. Something is very wrong here. The sashimi is drenched in sauces (sesame, soy). Why? Because it's not fresh. Shredding fake crab (pollock) all over everything is never a good idea. The rolls are all rice. I love Mexico; the people, the food, the locations. If you're looking for great sushi on the Marina try this place out. Had a great hibachi dinner experience. The pool bartender at the marina fiesta resort recommended this restaurant and even called his buddy who works there to make reservations for us. We arrived around 6:30pm and were a little surprised there was no one at the restaurant, but that didn't deter us from giving this place a chance. We were seated at one of the hibachi tables on the patio over looking the marina. Our waitress was super sweet and so attentive, she made sure we had everything we needed. Our hibachi chef was phenomenal, he was very interactive and we had great conversation with him. We had fried rice, jumbo shrimps, chow mein, sushi, wine, margaritas. This dinner for two set us back $200 USD. If you're in the area try it out. read more

I think I'm being generous giving 2 stars, but I'm sure there's something worse out there. We only went here because we were hungry and craving sushi, and didn't have wifi to look up places so we asked locals. Got there and it was empty. Thought it was closed, but an employee saw us and told us to come in. So we did and I had a bad feeling right off the bat. At the Marina and empty at lunch time? Hmm... Looked at the menu and already knew it was bad news. Weird ingredients and funky names and everything had cream cheese. And somehow mixed up Thai/Italian/Chinese terms in there. If it's gonna be "fushion", then pls don't call it a sushi restaurant. Ordered a few rolls which took forever to get. We were the ONLY ones there and they had like 5+ staff working. Got our rolls and at the very first bite I noticed the rice was hard. I can't remember what we ordered but it didn't matter because they all tasted the same--like rolls of bleh. We came as part of the all-inclusive plan, and really wanted to try the hibachi dinner experience, where the chef cooks your meal at your table! I specifically asked if we can be seated at the hibachi table and ordered the shrimp teppanyaki. However, no one came to our table to cook for us and the food was cooked in the back then served to us. I wish they informed us of this before we ate because I was really excited. Regardless, the shrimp teppanyaki was pretty good. The shrimp was served with a small bowl of fried rice topped with avocado. We also ordered a caterpillar roll, salmon sashimi, and hamachi sashimi. I thought the sushi and sashimi were okay, the fish didn't taste that fresh and it didn't come with that much food. With the all-inclusive, it's fine because we can keep ordering if we weren't full. Without the all-inclusive plan, it's not worth the quality and price. We ended our meal with tempura (deep fried) ice cream. It wasn't that great, the ice cream didn't hold together that well so it just melted really quickly and became ice cream soup with fried batter. read more

First time having sushi in Cabo and all I can say is wow this is great-went to the marina to walk around and do some shopping-started looking at Resturant's and came across Imomo- they have tables inside and outside-we sat inside which was great with a/c on- we are from ny and love eating sushi and wanted to try it here-we ordered 4 different apps which were all great-then 2 orders of tuna cooked rare,pad tai noodles and 2 different rolls- everything was amazing it was so good we ordered another roll-everything in this place is so fresh it's amazing Can't wait to go back read more

This is the worst service ever! Not from the waiter Nelson but from the chef. So slow so inconsiderate it took him two hours to be able to cook fried rice with shrimp for 3 people. The restaurant was not even 1/4 of capacity full everyone came after us and left before us. Never again would I sit there and wait so long for any meal. There excuse was that they were short staff. Where was the manager at when needed. I purchased the all inclusive meal plan with Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa and this has been my worst dining experience ever!
