Loved everything about it. Lebanese food in Mississippi?? Not what someone visiting from Buffalo, NY was expecting!! I had a traditional American breakfast on this visit but next time I'm in town I can't wait to go for lunch and dinner and try their Lebanese cuisine! I sat at the counter and was waited on by the owner and she was friendly and efficient. We chatted as I waited for my food and then more after I was finished eating. I called my lunch order in and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes later and there were already 3 people standing in line to pick up their to go orders. We stood there for about 10 minutes waiting for someone to come to the register so we could pay for our order and get back to work. A white man who had been dining in with his wife came up to the counter and broke in line in front of 4 ladies who had been standing there. Then Paula (owner) finally came to the register she saw who had been standing there and she waited on the line breaker first, I tried to protest and she snapped my head off. read more

We stopped for breakfast. This was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The hash browns were perfectly crispy, the eggs were over easy like they should be, the sausage was excellent, and the pancake was light and fluffy. Like many restaurants, it appears that they can not hire enough help and it was a bit disorganized, but the locals who eat breakfast there were serving coffee and helping out where they could. There were groups of men at various tables who were laughing and teasing with one another. This was a real hometown restaurant. The owner, Paula was the nicest person. This is a great restaurant to come to anytime. However, I came here for lunch and that is the time to come the locals tell me. So, I did go during lunch time and by coincidence a friend showed up and we decided to sit at same table. We were waited on by a server who took our orders and and he really took care of us. I got the meat and 2 lunch Special which was written on a board on the wall. I left not hungry as the servings were in generous portions. The server kept our drinks full by giving us refills and checked on us several times during our visit. The food was delicious as I see others have said this in their reviews. In summary, delicious food, great service, generous portions, and pleasant experience I had equals 5 stars. I couldn't find nothing wrong. Therefore, I will go back. read more

45 minutes for a simple 2 eggs 3 pieces of bacon and toast. Upon arrival the deliver me the order complete wrong. Than they brought me my order within 2 minutes and the food was very cold. That means the food has been sitting there for quite some time. Lots of elderly people comes here. Please management step up and improve your service. The food taste wasn't the best 5 out of 10 they have the biggest advantage in town. They're the only ones who cook breakfast. Wait until someone else open a breakfast place and this one will be out of business within months. read more

This is such a cool place. Feel free to get up and go to the coffee machine and pour yourself a cup, and while you are at it, breeze by the other tables and fill up theirs too. It's that kind of place. What a feeling to have the genteel local salts stroll right up to your table, sit down and say, where are you from? And then pour you a cup of coffee! Staff was very welcoming to us Northerners and the food good. Menu has lots of Lebanese options, but we opted for lunch specials. $11 for a loaded plate. My beef stew was a tad spicy for me, but I don't care for spices. The sides were generous and the warm banana pudding should not be missed! The only downside is cleanliness. Breakfast at a small town restaurant or diner is hard to beat. This is the kind of place that you fill your own coffee cup when it's empty and the creamer is passed from table to table. Today it was a ham & cheese omelet, hash browns & toast. The omelet held this lightly smoked ham and glorious cheddar cheese, I could have eaten a second one. I'm not a huge fan of toast but this toast was lathered in real butter and perfect for sopping up my omelet remnants. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

So i have a good southern breakfast, all very good but not over the top until she told me at 11am that their pies just came out of the oven. So she offered me a taste. Delicious meat pie and baklava. We were blown out of the water by the crispy fried green tomatoes. The portions are hearty but not enormous. They are just right. Ask the server for a recommendation if you're unsure what to get. I highly recommend this restaurant with great food and friendly workers. Best little Lebanese restaurant no one ever heard of. It sits in the middle of Clarksdale, cluttered between so many businesses it is hard to see the sign. It is a fairly large building, however. They serve American, Italian, and of course, Lebanese cuisine. Locals gather there early in the mornings for breakfast and chit-chat. After mid-morning, the menu changes and they serve everything else. I recommend the grape leaves. Try some Lebanese! If you aren't feeling exploratory though, you can always get a hamburger and fries. I will say that the service could be better. Every time I've been in there I have had a hard time both getting seated and waited on. Is it hard for establishments to have a sign saying "seat yourself?" I mean come on. read more

Sooo glad that we were told about the Rest Haven - we split the stuffed kibbe (with almonds & pinenuts), cabbage rolls, and dolmas - absolutely delicious! Then we treated ourselves to the warm, fresh out of the oven coconut cream pie and chocolate cream pie (because of all the raves) - and yes, it's all true! The dreamiest pie ever! Absolutely delicious, authentic Lebanese food! You can order anything on the menu and you will love it-guaranteed-from the kibble to cabbage rolls, salad, grape leaves., hummus-it's all fabulous! If you want a good southern plate lunch-this is the place as well. Whatever you eat, save room for the homemade pie. I can't choose between coconut and chocolate so I get both! Best breakfast in Clarksdale!!!! Former resident and recently tried Rest Haven for the first time. It was great. Better than IHOP, Denny's, Waffle House, etc. Plus, you get more food for a great price. Highly recommend it and will definitely make a return visit. read more

Rest Haven, is a true hidden gem! The Lebanese food is amazing and it is a great value. I loved the grape leaves wrap, the shanklish cheese balls, the fattoush chicken and the kibbeh patties. The service is basic but you feel welcome and place is family owned. The decor and atmosphere is of a local "mom and pop" diner. We went here because we read a review about the Kibbe Wrap. My husband loves this food so we took a drive to try it out. It was ok at best but the people were super nice. My wrap was tasty with a lasting zing to my tongue but I found it a bit dry. My husband liked it though so I suppose this is personal preference. The tea tasted a bit old but had good color and was definitely not weak. I asked for baklava but she was out. Just not a memorable meal for me but hey, maybe it was just the Kibbe. read more

Yes, a Lebanese joint in Clarksdale ! Had breakfast on the way out. Standard breakfast food except for a few Lebanese items...had an omelet with some sort of meat mixture called kibbie that was very good. Biscuits melt in your mouth. Bathrooms are not to be missed, no a/c and the open windows overlook the parking lot. Someone walked by and looked in once, which was very funny to me. Wandering through the South I've found many enjoyable places to eat in small towns, but this place, Simply good, downhome food with a twist. My first ever time to try Kibbe'. What a great meal. The place was crowded with a eclectic crosssection of every southern town, White, Black, Yankee etc. Everyone enjoying something different than the other,except for the table behind me. What resembled a Burrito but turned out to be a specialty sandwich of contrasting flavors, spiced up with a little Louisiana Hot sauce I couldn't get enough. A grizzled old man sat hunched over a table near the coffee machine smoking a dark cigarette who I later learned was Chafik Chamoun...., the owner. I needed more coffee and helped myself fom the always full and fresh pot next to his table. Afterwards I enjoyed the best chocolate cream pie I've had in any of my travels. Everyone smiled with their eyes as well as with their mouths and I knew I'd found a little piece of southern cafe heaven. read more
