Ate at this cafe before we headed out of town home. We were pleasantly surprised to find a band playing blues when we arrived. Before we could enter the restaurant, however, we had to wade through all the smokers littering the entrance. Cough! We sat down at a table we chose along the perimeter across from the band. I wish I knew the name of the band, but it was a 3 piece band with a female singer, her son on the guitar, and another guy playing drums. They were good. She sang a song she wrote called the Delta. Great lyrics! My husband and I both ordered the French toast with a hash brown on the side. It took forever and honestly, I was getting a little concerned about all the people who kept coming in and out from outside and into what seemed the kitchen area. Our food arrived and it had great presentation and generous portions. Real French bread used! It was very good! After our meal, the female band leader as well as the owner of the restaurant came over to chat. Very friendly and nice conversation with all. Sadly, when we arrived home from our long drive, let's just say, the food did not sit well in our stomach. It was the only meal we had before arriving home. We visited Clarksdale this weekend and the brunch from Bluesberry Cafe was my favorite meal. Absolutely delicious! In addition to the awesome Spanish Omelette we were able to enjoy wonderful music. I would definitely go back if ever in that area. read more

Absolutely horrible. Me and friends went- can you say racist?! In this day??? No one sat us. Then finally was told to sit wherever. Only 2 other tables. There were 3 servers if you include the blank owner. Sat for 30 minutes. Nothing. Owner spoke only on the way out. Food bad due to refusal of offering. Ambiance backwards due to no welcome. Great little spot with local legends wandering through. Music, food, nice folks. We were there on a bitterly cold day, so hardly any people were out and about. The waitress kept the hot coffee coming. The ham and cheese is big chunks of ham in the omelette with plenty of cheese is and on it. The grits are truly worthy. Biscuit wasn't quite the best, but I was pretty full! Cool crowd of folks. A definite is you are into music. Also, the hot sauce is beastly! Great stuff on the way to the bathroom. read more

Had to stop by because this place is a tourist icon. We got there as it opened so there were lots of seats. We tried a booth, but it was not a comfortable seat, so we moved to a table. Watermelon Slim was performing. Was cool to have a show at breakfast. I ordered coffee and I asked for lots of cream. I got 2. The coffee was too bitter for me. I really had a tough time trying to drink it. Our meals were fine, the service was good. She refilled my cup and brought one cream. Darn. Never did drink any more. Good spot for Sunday morning breakfast/brunch with blues music after a late Saturday night out at Ground Zero. The owner and his sidekick are entertaining characters. The omelet was stuffed and delicious. The musician started playing around 9:30am. Was kindof surprised they had live music at that time but it was cool. Overall a good capstone to a weekend of blues in Clarksdale, MS. If you are planning a trip to Clarksdale, be sure you stay at the Shack Up Inn... once in a lifetime / super unique place. Wow. We went on a Sunday from 8:30-10 and I have almost no positive things to say about it. - no live music and no OTHER music. We sat in silence at a music cafe. I understand they can't have live music 24/7 but please play something. - biscuits were from a can and tough - when I asked for water, they gave me a bottle for $2.50... whaaaat - hash browns were super mushy. Another customer asked if they gave them the grits by accident - CASH only but I didn't see any signs that said this The service was friendly but sporadic - they would sort of announce when an order was ready to see where it went. Coffee was ok but I literally saw a man in a wheelchair go up to where it was brewing to refill his cup. Their whole thing is that things are "made to order" and "be patient" but it's not from scratch. $25 for two people. I was so disappointed. I hope you have a better experience. read more

Unfortunately, Bluesberry was about to close but we were lucky enough to bump into Watermelon Slim, exceptional Blues Musician and we chatted with him and will be seeing perform at Reds later tonight. Was hungry for breakfast so we decided to go to bluesberry cafe. The booths were very low and uncomfortable. Orderd and ham and cheese omlet and hasbrowns. Not knowing that 2 ham abd cheese omlets were gonna be 40 dolllars. Only thing good was the potatoes. The biscuit was hard and the coffee was string enough to walk by itself. If you want bad food and string coffee. 40 dollars will go along way at wafflehouse and is a much better hreakfast for 12.00. I do not recomend this place to ever eat. Will never get over the prices for bad food. read more

I have nothing positive to say. There was NO music as advertised. There is a very limited menu. There are German cockroaches absolutely everywhere. The service was spotty, at best. The server forgot many items and would disappear for long stretches. They do not take cards, cash only, but this is not advertised anywhere. The eggs were cooked in a microwave mold like McDonalds. The pork chop had 3 bites of meat on it, the rest was fat and bone. For a water, a coffee, and 3 bites of pork chop, a canned biscuit, and a microwave egg it was $17. Terrific place for Sunday blues breakfast! Good omelets, even better French toast, and great blues.

Best Sunday ever! If you want blues at 10 am, come out to the Bluesberry. Music is not starting until 10 am so if you come before, no music. The French Toast with fresh blueberries and strawberries with a thick piece of Ham is the way to go. The coffee is the best in town! We have asked several times what kind it is. It's a secret. Watermelon Slim performed and one other Sunday was Mississippi Marshall or Deak Harp! Be prepared to be treated like family! You can refill your coffee when you like, just let them know honestly when paying. read more

Red's was closed so we stopped in. We meant to stop for an hour and wound up staying four. The owners were cool and the music did not disappoint. The Tuesday spaghetti and meatball special was also pretty damn good. There was great give and take between the players and the crowd. Random players wandered in and joined the session. Went there this morning for breakfast. As soon as we walked in the owner started talking to us. Very friendly, fun guy. One of the regulars also engaged in conversation giving us info about the memorabilia etc. They talked with everybody in the place. I had the Italian scramble and it was really good. Had a great time last night listening to live blues music and chatting with the locals. This place is an intimate setting right in downtown Clarksdale that does live blues music on Mondays. Limited selection of beer but the atmosphere and music easily make up for that. Will definitely visit again next time we are in Clarksdale. read more

For breakfast - The food tasted reheated, over cooked, and in some cases under cooked. The restaurant was not clean and had an unpleasant odor. Though friendly, the service was very unprofessional. Unfortunately, today the music was not worth sitting through. We were very uncomfortable, could not finish our plates, and were eager to leave as soon as we could. Would not recommend. read more
