It was clean and ready for us when we arrived on Thursday.I Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the pool but it looked very inviting. We cooked, used the fire pit at night, even though the cabins are close it was quite at night to be able to sleep. It's was like staying in one of the tiny house that you see on TV! You have to bring your own linens, towels but I'm OK with that. There are pots, pans, coffee pot, toaster, plates, silverware so it all worked for us. I would stay here again and recommend it to others going to the area. Oh the only thing that was a challenge was the bathroom mirror! If your 6' or taller you'll be able to use it other wise bring a mirror! ; )

Also, there was a lot where we could store our boat, when not in use. The arcade was rather dated and the games could use a bit of an update. The pool is nice size and clean. Large bathroom with a whirlpool bath ( my girl really liked that ) a small room off of the main bedroom that could be used as a changing room , a very large bedroom with a four poster king bed . TV with Direct TV and a gas fireplace that would be real nice to use if we were there in the winter. Elaine our host was super nice and an excellent chef. Breakfast was stuffed french toast which I had never had and was awesome. If I am ever back this way again I will defiantly stay here again.

This charming campground looks to be mostly seasonal and long-term campers, we were the only ones…read morein a tent. Our spot was completely grass; we drove our truck onto it and had a HUGE space to set up camp. Our spot had an overgrown field about a hundred feet back, and a nice tree for shade. Other tent spots backed up to the woods, across the mowed field from us. The bathrooms here were very simple and clean. There was always toilet paper and soap, so it's being maintained. The showers are also nice but simple; to turn on you set a timer between 1-5. The water temperature is automatic but very comfortable. The owner went above and beyond to accommodate our 1am arrival; she called to check our status, left a map with a highlighted route and notes on how to get to our site, and even put an orange traffic cone next to the picnic table so we could see it in the dark! We are avid campers and adventurers, so this additional touch really made West Haven stand out. It was 10 minutes to get to town, and 20 to the tip of Presque Isle. There's a pool AND small fishing pond, paved roads throughout the campground and most sites are grassy, not gravel.

The walls and walkway aren't crumbling anymore, and it appears to be a work in progress. Now it's 3 stars, hoping to elevate again soon. THANKS Amtrak!!! ORIGINAL: Erie's Amtrak station needs to be made presentable. Taking the train is a wonderful experience and the perfect option for someone who 1. doesn't want to fly and 2. doesn't choose to take the bus and stop in every small town on the map and then some. Amtrak itself and its friendly conductors and staff are great. It's the concrete walkways into the Amtrak Erie Station and up to the boarding area that are unbelievably shabby. This dilapidation offers a sharp contrast to much of the rest of the beautifully restored Union Station and its microbrewery. As a local resident and regular train traveler, it breaks my heart to think this is the impression Erie leaves on other passengers who also use this station. Please consider even minimal renovations to this part of the architecturally stunning Union Station so that it can match the rest of the building's classiness. Let's leave a positive imprint on those who walk through its historic doors.

Game night and bingo nights for adults. A pot luck Towards the end of the season. It is only a few miles down the road to linesville. A grocery, dollar general, beer store, liquor, candy shop, hardware, pharmacy and a few gift shops and restaurants. Fishing is right in the pond, or at pyma lake or conneaut or a 40 min drive to Erie. It's a quiet, family oriented campground. I have met some special friends at pineview.
