Excellent Welcome Center in the middle of nowhere, but they don't have gas facilities or any kind of fresh food or anything. It's still nice to have it here if you're driving across the wilderness and you need a little stop. For that reason I really appreciate it being here. It's in between Cleveland and Erie, but much closer to Erie of course. It's on the Eastbound (south) side of the highway about 2 miles inside the border, if that.

A few dining options are available nearby, though you should expect to drive if you're looking for a broader selection of restaurants or local attractions. Check-in was a bit slow and somewhat bumpy, but that was the only drawback during my one-night stay. The common areas were modern and well maintained, and the room itself was clean, quiet, and contemporary. Overall, I would stay here again. If you're in the area or simply passing through, this property is definitely worth considering.

The owners…read morewere great about responding to calls and answering questions, including recommendations for nearby food options. The room was very clean - we had a double and single bed room. The space for the beds was laid out in an L rather than side by side, with a tiny bathroom filling in the rest of the square. It was snug but not cramped, if that makes sense. There was a nice sized fridge - big enough to hold a full sized pizza box when we took out one shelf. The air conditioning was just fine - if it had been a cooler night, I'd have opened the windows because the room is set up for a good cross-breeze. The decor is solidly middle-20th century utilitarian (one small picture on a wall, polyester bedspreads) and the reading light over the bed needs some love to get it back to full functionality. The bed was a bit soft for our preference, but I slept fine. There was a bit of noise from the road, but surprisingly little considering the location. We had neighbors, but I didn't notice any noise. As mentioned, the bathroom in our room was very small, with a shower - plenty of hot water! This is not a plush towel establishment, but I was taken right back to childhood hotel experiences with the tiny bar of Dial they provided. Each room has a small table and chairs right outside the door, so we could have had take-out while enjoying the cool lake air. Unfortunately (IMO), each also had an ashtray, so if anyone in a neighboring room is a smoker, that might affect your enjoyment of the space. It was a good place to stay, for a good price - note that they don't take credit cards.
