This hotel needs a lot of help. There is no pride of ownership by Choice or the management. I have stayed here twice now and I will no longer stay here again. Holes in couch cushions, chunks of wall missing, hairdryer is hanging by a thread in the bathroom. Beat up furniture. The toilet ran forever. I had to take the back off the tank to hold the float up until it filled and stopped running. Not to mention that there were a lot of youth hockey team/families in the hotel. Kids playing knee hockey in the hallway and running up and down the hallway until 1am!! So much for the quiet time from 11pm to 8am! It's unfortunate that this is the ONLY place to stay for a hotel in Edinboro but I've decided it's worth the drive to Erie or South to have better accommodations. This is probably why they don't make any updates/clean because they are the only place in town and people don't have a choice. read more

Hotel overall is decent but could definitely use some heavy cleaning and maintenance. Stayed here last week for work, garbage out front was overflowing and blowing around the entire week. Lobby trash was also overflowing every day of the week. The shower had mold around the caulking. This week I was booked through my employer again to stay due to pricing in Erie area being higher. The bed and pillow are comfortable, however the elevator was working but not properly, and this shower had mold around the caulking but also what appears to be black mold on the ceiling. Could be a very nice hotel if it was cleaner. The lobby itself is very nice minus a broken boarded window in the front. Staff is very friendly and overall it isn't a bad place. Please just clean the mold and recaulk, would make a huge difference. Also the elevator being sketchy isn't practical when people are traveling with work equipment. I would stay again, but I would feel more relaxed with a clean bathroom. read more

Nice room and the interior lobby is clean and kept up. I got a king suite which was roomy and presented well on walk in. The exterior of the property could use some attention, as it just isn't clean or looking well-kept. The breakfast buffet was well stocked and the food was good. Very reasonable for the price (I got a military rate being retired from the USAF) and a pleasant stay. This'll do! read more

I will start this review by saying that they will refund me for my rooms, but that was the only positive of our hotel experience. We had a reservation for two rooms at Comfort Suites. When we got into our first room, we noticed the air conditioning didn't seem to be working right. We went to inspect the unit, and there was black mold all over it. We were traveling with our two young children, so we were not staying in a room with black mold blowing out of the air conditioning unit. We went to the front desk to ask for another room, and they told us that there were other rooms needing to be moved because of an issue of them smelling like smoke so they weren't sure they'd be able to move us. They told us they'd update us, and we went to the other room in our group to wait. While we were waiting, we bathed one of the kids and the shower was the most disgusting shower I've seen at a hotel. The walls were brown and there was either rust or mold near the fixtures and in the corners. Then we noticed there was brown on the sheets reminiscent of dried blood that hadn't been cleaned. The front desk then told us that they had another room for us, but we walked into the room with an employee and there was mold on the air conditioning unit in this room as well. While we were waiting for the front desk to call their manager, we overheard another customer complaining about mold and cleanliness in their room. At this point, we decided it would be better to drive 3.5 hours home at 9:30pm rather than spend the night at this hotel. read more

Booked this hotel on Priceline's Express Deals. As I often do. This hotel handed me a receipt at checkout for $101. Huh? I looked online later, and sure enough, I'd already paid $116 through Priceline in advance. I called the front desk and complained, and they said it was just a "hold." No. No hotels charge one nights' rate AND TAXES as a hold on a prepaid room AT CHECKOUT. They said they would have the manager call me back and "explain it to [me] better." So I called Priceline, and they said the hotel actually charged Priceline. Why they handed me a receipt for that transaction while being utterly unable to explain it was a mystery. They were sketchy right from check in. I had to sign and initial a bunch of stuff, including agreeing to the room rate, which was blank. Why would I need to agree on a rate for a room I already bought and paid for? When we get to the room, the door is open. We go in cautiously in case, you know, there's a murderer in there. There's not, but the room smells funky and the carpet is wet. I mean a very large wet spot. Was someone already murdered in here? We were on the first floor, by a back door, and it was LOUD. No soundproofing at all. Can hear not only hallway noise and outdoor noise, but people stomping overhead. Cool, cool. I didn't get this room only to sleep in or anything. The room was functional, if you forget about the fact that such a large portion of the rug is wet that you can't get from one side to the other. Bedsheets were clean; gross chunky stain on the side of the box spring I tried not to think about too much. Bathroom had no fan, which sucks for a whole bunch of reasons you can deduce. July 4, 2021 stay. Incredibly dated hotel. Upon first approach, the window just to the side of the glass door was broken and boarded up. The room was worn (room 217) chair and sofa were both dirty and torn; the stuffing was actually visible. There was a large amount of mold/mildew behind the entry door directly across from the bathroom, tub was cracked and drain was broken, exhaust vent was filthy with dust and debris hanging out of it, more smaller areas of mildew around the tub, desk and tables scuffed and paint was chipping, curtains in room were only partial and could not be closed to block out the parking lot lights, air conditioner was inadequate ( fan speed and temperature did not change regardless of how it was set and room remained warm), hot Continental breakfast (7:00 am - 10:00 am) was downgraded to coffee, juice, muffin and fruit cocktail cups due to Covid, however, at 9am they had already ran out of muffins and juice despenser was out of order. We have stayed at several other hotels that had other work-a-rounds to offer better breakfast options. My husband had to run to DD (located near parking lot of hotel) to get breakfast for us. Pool and hot tub were both closed, even after being told they would be open. To end the morning, we had to be evacuated due to a fire in the hotel on July 5, 2021 at 10:00 am. A truly miserable experience for $103.97. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $20.00 and stay elsewhere. The positive reviews this hotel received had to have been placed by management staff themselves. This hotel was disgusting. The front desk staff were very nice, but powerless to address concerns. This is easily one of the worst hotels I've ever experienced, and it's the fault of nothing other than the horrible night staff. The front-desk concierge was rude, dismissive, and very unhelpful. Noise complaints were "filed against us" because the 5 adults in our room were TALKING TOO LOUD IN OUR OWN HOTEL ROOM and because we were running the jacuzzi tub IN OUR OWN PRIVATE HOTEL ROOM.. The girl refused to give us accommodations for the fifth member of our party, including basic amenities like A PILLOW, A BLANKET, AND TOWELS, claiming that they were "low on said items". What the hell is the point of asking for simple things and being told that they "can't provide basic needs" with something like bedding for a paying customer? The beds are uncomfortable, the rooms are like ovens despite the mild weather outside, the breakfast selection is terrible, and this experience alone will guarantee that I will never again stay at a Comfort Suites. Not an ideal match for people of alternative lifestyles. read more

Beautiful hotel and great rooms with high ceilings and comfortable beds! However, the gorgeous pool and hot tub were not open to guests, using the excuse of "Covid". Additionally, there was no free continental breakfast as advertised, just a couple packs of oatmeal and some juice. This hotel is using Covid as an excuse to save money on upkeep on the pool and breakfast expenses. Typically, the price of the room takes into account the use of hotel amenities. Please have some respect for your guests and make the rooms a little cheaper if you're going to take away the rest of the hotel experience. read more

I was in town so my son could check out Edinboro University right down the road. If we are back in town we would more likely stay a bit farther out rather than stay at this Comfort Suites. Our room was renovated at some point, it is clearly an older hotel, but the renovation was not done really well if you know what i mean. The air in the room was impossible to get at a comfortable temperature, the mattress was BAD and the pillows were small and uncomfortable. Thankfully we were only there one night. It was clean but that was it, which is why I rated it 2 stars vs. 1. Not recommended, sorry. read more

Nice, clean, comfortable, modern all-suite hotel. Extensive breakfast buffet is included with your room (waffles, eggs, yogurts, biscuits, bagels, cereal, etc). Nice pool and exercise areas, everything is kept very clean and fresh. The staff is very kind and attentive. Extra star for our housekeeper, who, after being asked once for extras, left us multiple shampoos and conditioners every day we were there. read more

Ever have one of those times, when everything comes together and falls into place, unexpectedly? Thats what happened here. I was beat from a long, hot day on my motorcycle. Was going to camp, but the heat made me find a hotel. Everything was perfect, from the helpful desk staff, to the great, cool room, to the pool, hot tub and patio with a beautiful view of the countryside below (former golf course). I had free breakfast on the patio watching the sunrise. I even spoke with a couple that said they come to this hotel for long weekends away. The hotel is quiet, as its just off of, but not right next to Interstate 79. Walmart/Subway, Wendy's, Sheetz and County Fair ( large gas/convenience/deli) are walking distance. Do call ahead, as other reviews I've read say they cater to college sports teams visiting to Edinboro University, though I didn't experience this personally. I would definitely stay here again! read more

I'm writing in regards to a past experience at this hotel over the holiday. My family and I had reservations at Niagara Falls for the New Years Eve event but unfortunately , we had to cancel and "eat" the cost if the room as my husband now had to be to work at 3 am New Years Day. We decided to bring the kids (8,8, & 11) to your hotel instead if the pool was open so my husband could get to work. If the pool wasn't going to be open, he was just going to call off work due to the nonrefundable reservations. I called 814-969-7000 at 4:10 pm on 12/31/2019 to see if there were any rooms open and if you pool was operable. The call lasted approx 7 min, and the gentleman ASSURED me 3+ times that the pool was open and there were 2 bed rooms available, but to reserve one I needed to give him my credit card number and it would also be non-refundable. After making the reservation, I cancelled our room in NY and just ate the $120 for the room there. We arrived at your hotel 45 min later to check in. The kids were bickering and I stated "if you keep it up, you won't be able to go swimming". The gentleman at the desk notified me at this time that the pool was broke and no one was able to swim. ARE YOU KIDDING??? I was furious as I asked multiple times, have kids whom I promised we were still going to do something for New Years and a nonrefundable deposit! I know it was the gentleman's fault at the desk but I never would have made the reservation, or cancelled the other should this have been the case. I asked him to cancel it, refund the money and went out to the car to think of  a new plan. I called your reservation number at 5:07 (1.5 min), 5:09 (18 min) AND WAS DISCONNECTED, 5:27 (1min 18sec), 5:30 (1 min 9 sec), 5:31 (7 min 30 sec) and no one could either understand english, or was able to find me another room in the surrounding area (Meadville or Erie). All I asked was for there to be 2 beds and a pool, but apparently that didn't make any sense. The kids and I left, and drove to Meadville, finding a room at the Holiday Inn Express at 7pm and paid $130. This was BY FAR the worst experience I've had with a hotel. My husband travels 1 week per month and stays in IHG Hotels, and I also travel for work a few times a year and have NEVER been treated so poorly.I'm hoping as of this morning that my room has been refunded, and Choice Hotels resolution for 2020 is better customer service and hospitality. read more

This is the worst hotel experience ever. The manager acts like a child and hung up on be twice! How can any hotel manager act this way is crazy!The hotel was under fire watch because there was recently a fire there..we were not told this til after check in. They put my family on the 3rd floor..lights were flickering...pool had no heat...things were turning on by themselves...we left for my family's safety. Not only did they charge my account once but they charged it twice when all the money was supposed to be put back...manager acts like a child and is very rude! I really wish I could give zero stars. We have been coming to this hotel for years. This year when we checked in, there were broken windows in the lobby and the patio fountains and lights were all broken as well. In addition to the general "run down" amenities, the management staff is terrible! When my husband and I left our room in the morning, there was no housekeeping cart on our floor, so we stopped at the front desk and gave our room number and asked for service. We were assured they'd get to it. When we returned around 3 PM, our room hadn't been cleaned. I called down to the front desk and was told the housekeeping staff was shorthanded and running behind, but they would call up and remind them to clean our room before leaving for the day. I asked if we should leave the room and go to the pool, or did I have about an hour to get ready to go out. The front desk told me to take my time, so we started getting ready. Then, our room phone rings, and a man named Max identities himself as the hotel manager and was calling to let us know that he was not going to allow housekeeping to clean our room. This was very confusing to me, so I asked if there why he was giving that directive. He said his policy was housekeeping was not allowed to clean rooms for overnight stays after 2 PM. I explained how our room had gotten skipped and he told me that I must have had a do not disturb sign on my door. I assured him I didn't and then he called me a liar. As our conversation continued, he began to say that he personally checked our room at 2 PM and we had a do not disturb sign on the door. I stated again that it did not and reminded him that I even stopped at the front desk and asked for service on my way out and he replied by telling me it was his hotel and the front desk had no authority to ok housekeeping to clean rooms! (Apparently Max picks and chooses who gets service each day). I asked Max if housekeeping was still in the hotel and he said yes, so I stated that I really didn't understand why he wasn't allowing them to clean my room and he said he had a personal policy. I hung up from speaking with Max and got ready for the evening. When leaving my room, the housekeeping cart was in front of my room. I again asked for service and was told Max had forbade them from cleaning my room. I really don't understand why Max chose to make such a small, routine request like housekeeping into his own personal display of power, but the whole situation was shocking. Regardless to say, we won't be staying here ever again. Also, if you do stay here and need something taken care of (and trust me you will because of how poorly it's managed) don't waste your breath with the people there, because Max won't help you and his "boss" they refer to you to contact is Chris, but apparently that is just Max as well. Just call the Choice Hotels corporate number and save yourself the aggravation. read more
