I hired Keenan Electrical Services years ago when we were renovating a 19th century house and he -…read moreKeenan himself - did very good work, on schedule, with fair pricing. He was my first choice to call for a large current job at a different location and, after a full month, five calls, and three attempts to contact his people through his website, I've heard back not at all. I can't hire a guy who refuses to return phone calls. I don't know if this reflects a change in focus for his business. Maybe if you aren't a commercial client, a contractor w new construction, or have an eight-figure address, he's not interested. Can't tell what's going on because he chooses not to return my calls. No matter, after banging my head against the Keenan wall to no benefit, I called Jolt, whose work I've also seen and looks terrific. The same day I called I had an appointment set up for him to come buy and give an estimate for the work I need done, which will be this week That puts Jolt a full month ahead of Keenan and counting. We're off to a good start there. So three stars for Keenan: He does good work, in my experience, but like I said: I can't hire a guy who won't return my calls.

On New Years Day I submitted a request via their webpage to have an outdoor light replaced (just to…read moreget it submitted, no real urgency). I got a reply within minutes to schedule the work for the next day! Arrived on time, got the job done quickly, and made sure everything worked before leaving. Kevin was fantastic. It was a small job that he made sure was done right and at a reasonable price, which I appreciate! I will absolutely contact them next time I need electrical work done, likely this summer.

Please keep this in mind and consider a second opinion if they give you a large quote. This is my story: My elderly mother contacted me in a panic after she had a technician named Ryder come to her house to check/clean her heating system. Somewhere in the process, he told her that her entire heating system needed to be replaced and would roughly cost her $15,000...AND he gave her a DEADLINE of 3pm that day to get back to him or that price would change. Please note that her heating system works and is not broken. I decided to contact Cranney's on my own and ask one simple question: "Do your technicians get a commission on their sales?" I was placed on hold so the operator could consult the manager. When she returned, I was told the manager was at lunch and would call me back. I then asked for an assistant manager or someone else that might have the answer. She then asked "What is this in regards to?" (I am not sure why she asked that again, as I only asked that one question). Sensing the defensiveness in her voice, I decided to tell her that I wanted my technician to receive a commission because "he did a wonderful job". She sounded relieved and more willing to seek out an answer. She put me on hold again. When she returned she told me that she could "not disclose that information"...this was enough for me. If a technician charges 15K for a job and gets 5% commission, that's a $750 addition to his paycheck. Please keep in mind I never got an official answer, however if the answer was "no" then it would've been simple. Offering commission on services like this without guardrails, is a corrupt incentive for technicians with no integrity and an easy way to con old women into spending money they don't have on something they don't need. Not to mention the coercion technique used causing unnecessary panic by telling her that a decision needs to be made TODAY...or else. Also, you should know that the manager never called me back. I have no interest in telling them how to operate, I can only offer my experience with the hope that the consumer is better informed. Please consider a second opinion when using their services.
