Very Disappointed in Response Crew's service call! My project task list was not difficult and should have been executed with ease...One small drywall patch/paint, door weatherstripping, install 5 cabinet handles, re-key patio door locks. But the service call turned sour because of poor communication from the technician and office manager as well as lack of transparency regarding a damaged patio door lock. Issues: - Technician failed to close the project before he left (he was late for the next appointment). - Technician did not report that a patio door lock broke when he attempted to re-key it (he kept the broken part with him for 1 1/2 days and did not inform what happened). - The company invoiced my CC even before sending an invoice or notifying me of which tasks were complete and which were not. - A week+ later and I still have not received an invoice. - After reaching out to company owner Adam, he agreed to review the service call internally and get back soon. Over one week later and he has not (crickets!). Details: Angel arrived on a Wednesday about 8:30 AM. I walked through the work list with him and asked him to call me if any questions. He left the job mid-day without notifying me which tasks were complete and which were not. I called the office manager, Jennifer, requesting status and was told that Angel would give me a call. Angel finally called about 5:00 PM. He informed me that all tasks were complete except he did not re-key the patio door locks. No other information. I then contacted my locksmith who scheduled an appointment next day, Thursday AM, to re-key the locks. When the locksmith arrived Thursday AM, he discovered the cylinder was missing from the patio door lock and could not perform the work (a wasted $90 service call). I called Jennifer to find out if Angel had the cylinder and was told she would contact Angel and find out. No call back from Jennifer or Angel. At end of day Thursday, Angel returned the cylinder to the home. Tenant asked Angel to re-install the cylinder in the lock but he would not. He handed the cylinder to the tenant, said the cylinder will not work and left. No explanation as to what was wrong with the cylinder or why it will not work. Upon examining the returned cylinder, we found that it will not work because the tail piece snapped off when Angel removed the cylinder from the lock. See photo showing a fresh shiny spot where the tail piece had been attached. Accidents happen and this one could have been overlooked. But lack of transparency and failure to report this issue in a timely manner cannot be overlooked. If I had known what happened, I would not have scheduled a locksmith and I could have avoided the wasted $90 service call! Response Crew is lacking in these basic customer service skills: 1. Customer response time Response from both the technician and office manager to my queries regarding project status and issues was very slow - as much as 1 1/2 days! 2. Customer transparency Inform customer as soon as possible if a part breaks while servicing the customer's property. It's not okay to withhold that information until the next day after the service call. 3. Billing A project invoice was never sent - it's now more than 1 week since Response Crew charged my credit card. 4. Company acceptance of responsibility Lack of follow-up from the company owner is the final irritation which pushed my patience beyond limit. Do not recommend engaging with this company! read more

The man who worked on my house was attentive, professional, friendly, and communicative. The same cannot be said for his boss who was on speaker (and told the homeowner was present). The boss made remarks about "well does she want a remodel or does she want ...?" I had a friend who manages damage and reconstruction projects advise me on what to do. If I am paying by the hour, I'd prefer to have things done right the first time. The boss on the phone was a total jerk and is the reason I will never work with this company again. Considering I am currently shopping out estimates after getting insurance money to rebuild what was damaged, the jerk of a boss lost his company business. No issues at all with the job, the office was easy to reach when I had questions about what to provide (outlet) for the TV in order to make the install go smoothly. No disappointments here! This is the third project that Response Crew has don for us in the last 4 months. The project in question here, was to install a complete steel security door to the patio access from the master bedroom. I had all of the required parts, door, sweep, sill, sill support material and locking hardware. Jack came an hour earlier than scheduled, by request, which was great. He immediately assessed the project, assembled the required tools and began the install. A little short of 2 hours, Jack was finished and was cleaning up the area he used for cutting materials. Jack did a great job and this was the second job he has done for us involving doors. We have a barn door project coming up next and without a doubt, we'll be calling Response Crew to send Jack. We had a new air conditioner installed, that required the co to cut a 9" x 10" hole in our outside stucco wall to remove the previous copper pipe. They referred us to Response Crew. Around the same time, a company repaving our streets, hit our mailbox, that's inside a stucco box. I sent photos of both to Response Crew & was provided a quote the following day via email, for both areas, separately, since I had to send the paving company a separate invoice. We had to wait app a wk for the work to be done. Joe, the technician, called app 30 min before the scheduled appointment, saying he'd be about an hr later. He called once more, saying he'd be at our house in app 10 min. When Joe arrived, he asked if he could park in the driveway, which I appreciated, that he just didn't assume it was OK to do. He also wore a mask. Total time spent on both jobs was as quoted. Joe was friendly & answered all questions I had regarding the procedures for repair. We'll definately be calling on Response Crew again, as it seems we always have some sort of repair job needed and they do everything. Got the quote for the hourly rate they charge for two workers due to the weight of the garage rack.It was a father and son team that shoes up. They were on time did the work in an hour as they said they would. Would have given the, 5 stars but I had to ask for them to fill in a couple of holes they left when looking for the studs and when I went back out found a few more. They job was done and looks nice just a little more attention to detail would have made it better. I did appreciate the call from the owner today as a follow up and his comments here on Yelp. Their handyman came in to fix a broken closet railing. However, the job took only 10 minutes The handyman was nice enough to tell us that we pay for 2 hours ($99 per hour). He asked if he can fix other items to use the remaining time. We then asked him to fix a broken shatter, a backyard screen, a window vinyl frame, to replace light bulbs in the garage (he even put in 3 LED lights for free). I wish there was an option to give zero stars. I had a set of five different requests to be taken care of. one was to ensure that the dishwasher be connected to the closest outlet. As it was not reachable by me, I used an extension card from an outlet slightly farther. When I checked after the work was complete, the work done was making permanent of the temporary fix I did! Also, the dishwasher did not work. When pointed out, they promptly replied that they will send another workman later. They did send the person again and it ended up not working still. To my shock, I was billed again for the 'visit' and when enquired, they explained it as it is their 'policy'! Ordered a new washing machine and found out that the shut off values needed replacement. Rather than fumble around like Tim the Tool Man Talor, I decided to hire a company that knew what they were doing. I contacted Response Crew using Yelp messenger and they replied next morning (Monday). With the information and photos I provided they were able to give me an estimate as to how long and how much the repair would cost. Their offer is $175 for the first 2 hrs so I was expecting to pay $300 or close to it, but while doing the repairs, Angel discovered that removal and replacement of the old valves is all that was needed. Sure I could have done this myself and saved quite a bit of money, but again, I'm no repair man and am satisfied with the work he did. My new machine is set for delivery on 12/30 so I will be sure to update my review once I know everything is running smoothly. 1/10/2020 - Everything is running smoothly!! I love this company and what they stand for. I run a non profit and this company came out and gave back to the community in a big way. Of course when I needed to hire someone for a job, I thought of them first and I'm so glad I did! What a great experience! I needed a small roof leak repaired and also a drywall repair. They sent a gentleman out who provided me with a bid. I then hired them for the job and met Alan. Hipskind. He was running a few minutes late but he called to let me know. Great communication! It was was 15 minutes so no problem. When he arrived we walked through everything and then he went to work. I was worried about him as it was 105 degrees out and he was going to be on the roof.
