Weight room so often (younger men) sit on one machine for half an hour, scrolling on their phone 90% of the time, while others are obviously waiting to do a few reps. Women's steam room has been dangerously hot lately. Half the shower curtain rings are missing. Often women in sweaty gym clothes in sauna, with phones, sometimes working out. The space feels tense and overly monitored, creating an uncomfortable training environment rather than a supportive one. Interactions between the owner and members are of confrontational as seen and experienced. In turn makes routine workouts feel stressful instead of productive as you are always being watched and judged. There is also a significant gap between the extremely positive online reviews and what many members experiencing day to day. Which raises questions about how accurately those reviews reflect the gym's culture. With talks of free memberships and "prices" in return. A gym should feel welcoming, respectful, and focused on fitness. Unfortunately, this location appears to fall short, and many people may be better served choosing a different facility. I also went to another location downtown Salem,which was horrible facility wise (see previous review with pictures). So, I decided to downgrade my membership to the basic. Do you know these jokers said that I had to pay $10 per membership to downgrade? So essentially I would pay $20 to downgrade to basic from the QFit (i.e., $10 for premium and $10 for basic). I ended up cancelling and going beck to planet fitness. These jokers also charged my card when I cancelled without telling me or notifying me for the reason. I checked the my cancellation document and the contract and didnt see anything about the extra money they charged. Not happy with their service. I have attached the contracts, which has nothing about being charged extra money for downgrading memberships other than annual membership fee.
