Great place for adults and kids. The coaches are amazing and take the time to reinforce proper form. My son loves it here!

Within the walls of Zanshin is also the DaJoGen School of MMA and home of local fight team Chaos. The benefit of all three is a beautiful marriage of experience you'll find nowhere else. The following Martial Arts Styles are offered at Zanshin: Aikido Brazilian Jujitsu Jiu-Jitsu (Jujutsu/Jujitsu) Judo Karate Kick Boxing Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Muay Thai Boxing 2. As far as gyms go, this is by far the nicest MMA gym in the area. I dont know of any other gym with a spring board floor catered to MMA and fitness. The equipment is top notch with a variety of bags and cardio equipment. You can walk into this newer gym and work out side by side with world class athletes. The best part is, you dont have to be a world class athlete to train here! The ambiance here is like a big family in addition to being family friendly. As a beginner to the sport of MMA, i found the DaJoGen school of MMA to be a great way to condition myself for my triathlon season and i didnt feel like i was lost in the class. 3. ***WARNING!!! Its addicting and probably the best fitness training you'll get. At any given time, you can be training with people of all professions from active military soldiers and professional fighters there for specific training to college students and house wives there for fitness. The variety of attendees is a unique experience and great networking. 4.Here's a video tip DaJoGen puts out monthly on their Facebook account that gives a glimpse into the conditioning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGOwCHfbTaM&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL 5. As far as equipment you'll need, you can buy anything you dont already have at the gym. The bonus is the gym doesn't try to make any money off of you on product sales. They're genuinely there for the love of the sport. I would suggest 3 things: Boxing gloves Mouth guard Shin guards

The training here is just amazing. Top notch athletes and coaches!!read more

FOR CLARIFICATION. THIS IS THE GYM AT SALEM HOSPITAL NOT THE SALEM FITNESS CENTER. THIS GYM IS…read moreATTACHED TO MRI. I love my gym! Its affordable, at work, and never too busy. Now keep in mind you need to be a Salem Hospital employee to be a member but the dues are good (30 a month, less for longer plans) and the equipment is passable. All the free weights you need and a good mix of the rest. 5 treadmills (3 good) and 4 ellipticals (2 good) and a few other odds and ends. Normally the gym is pretty empty which I enjoy because I'm not one to enjoy fighting for machine time or having my workout disrupted because i have to reconfigure. The TV situation is pretty bad and the music situation isn't great either. But bring you mp3 player and get some lasik surgery and you'll be fine. Just put the weights back where they belong when your done people! Also the gym steward is awesome and will help you with classes and workout routines etc. If your looking for a meat market where you spend 60 bucks a month for a pool you never use and 20 machine that will never see a drop of your sweat and isn't located centrally to your lifestyle then you should probably pass on this deal.

While the fitness center is quite small, it is rather functional, and rarely busy. Nice to have…read morefree weights, a variety of machines, and even a small space for classes and stretching. The stereo sucks, so I deducted a star, but hopefully they get that fixed. This is A Great Place To Work Out (any SH employees catch the reference?).
