We recently visited with some friends for a shared birthday brunch. First off, the food was... ok? All of the temps were way wrong on all 5 of our burgers, but we enjoyed the sides. Nothing to write home about and nothing to go out of your way to seek out. The atmosphere is fun and super kid friendly. Strike that, it's way-way-way too kid friendly for a weekend brunch and unfortunately, lots of parents have figured that out. So this is "Toledo's Barcade?" Really? Well, we can do better. We can do a shitload better. First the positives: the food, the beer, the service, and the atmosphere. The food is very good; it's from Bar 145 next door...build-it-yourself burgers, specialty burgers, creative and tasty appetizers, soups, etc...it's all here. There's also a abbreviated, "late-night" version of the menu that still includes pretty good options. The beer selection is excellent, and the self serve, pay-by-the-ounce-taps are a great idea. The service is hit or miss, but it's usually pretty good. Also, Reset now allows kids to come in before 7pm, (and later if they're not too busy). The atmosphere is fun, nostalgic and very "80s oriented." So far, so good, right? WRONG...the main reason to come here, is the retro gaming, and the gaming sucks. It sucks ass. There are relatively few games, and the games that are present are pretty standard stuff. But the real problem is that almost every game is in shitty condition, and, they seem to be getting shittier by the week. They're set on free play? So what. I'd think that the cost of the games is built into the price of the food/alcohol. Besides, if the games are "unplayable," (that's only a slight exaggeration), then they might as well not be there. Rather than walk away from a free game that, frustratingly, malfunctions, I'd prefer to pay a quarter and actually play! In order to be a viable entertainment option (especially for adults who appreciate retro-gaming), Reset really needs to pump a little money into their games. The way it is currently, I don't think there is any reason to come to the arcade side of the operation. Eat at Bar 145, and then go elsewhere. read more

We were in town for my husband's birthday and had been looking forward to checking out this barcade. We had been to a barcade in Cincinnati previously and had a wonderful time. This was a huge disappointment. We walked in and walked back out. There are no arcade games here. They've all been replaced with duckpins??? Not anything like what was advertised. As others have said, if you're looking for a barcade skip this place. I wish I could give it less stars. read more

A group of us traveled over 90 minutes from Michigan to visit Reset. We had MAJOR issues with the location in Toledo. My wife planned a surprise birthday party for myself and invited 13 of our friends. She sent multiple reservation requests and when she did not receive a follow-up, she called. The first call, she was promised a call back that day by a manager; After 4 hours and no call back, she was called them again and stated it did not appear that the reservation worked on the website and wanted to confirm our parties arrival at 6:30. The person said on the phone, that they only take reservations on the website and when told the issues we had, she said everything was in place. When we arrived at the location, a large sign stated the bar was closed for a private party till 9pm. My wife was in tears, but spoke to a staff person and they said, "Sorry" and shrugged it off. We ended up driving to the Perrysburg and was amazed by that location. read more

Great idea, poor execution. As Vanilla Ice said, the games have issues. FIX YOUR GAMES. Champion Amusements or Dr. Scott (both local pinball and video game repair) can make them work again. Went to check out their pinball. Baywatch, Roadshow, and Simpsons are what is advertised. They have Baywatch and Wipe-out. Disappointed, but whatever, I can have fun with 2 machines I've never played. Oh, they eat your quarters and have such weak flippers you can't reach the shots in the back of the game? Never mind, I can't have fun. 2 stars for the functioning basketball game. read more

Reset is pretty good. The old school video gaming concept is certainly a draw. The games I am most familiar with are there; Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Centipede, Galaga, Space Invaders, and more. Those are free. I was surprised all pin ball games require payment as do just a couple of the most popular video games (aka Pac Mac). The service was decent. Our server was moderately attentive in Reset even though there weren't more than 10 persons in the place on a Saturday around 1PM. Bloody Mary was tasty; good pour of Jameson. My pal and I dined on the app "Green Bean Tempura" and it was good. Other reviews mention "elbow room" and I would agree. The video stand-alone consoles are jammed together too tightly. My friend didn't have room to put his beer down between machines at one point; that's a Debbie Downer for sure. The games were clean and the atmosphere was well appointed. Reset is A-OK in my view but for serious gamers looking for play time and a night on the town they may be turned off by it all. I say try Reset on a Saturday at lunchtime and you'll feel welcome and have lots of room to spin, shoot and cheer. read more

Totally disappointing. Maybe my expectations were too high. Waiteess was borderline competent. Not informative. Seemed annoyed at our questions. Very short, and not friendly at all. Evidently you can request a video game console to your table. This was not explained to us. Matter of fact, nothing was explained to us. They have quite an extensive list of beers. They were out of the first 3 different beers our table ordered. So the beer I ended up drinking was $8.50 a glass. That was information that I would have appreciated before seeing it on my bill. The beer list doesn't have pricing on it. My bill came out to $26 and some change. The waitress did not give me any 5's in my change. Was she trying to guilt me into a $10 tip? I always tip at least 20%. That would have been about $5.20. Should I have to ask for different change? Nope. $3 and the coins...sorry. The arcade games are butted up side by side. No elbow room at all. Somebody playing one game made it almost impossible to play the adjacent game. Also, several of the games didn't work. (Gorf, Street fighter II, and Pac Man ect...) Most arcade games are free (great job there). But the few that are not were not labeled as such. This made it very confusing for all the patrons. People, one after another, approached this particular game, and after several frustrating minutes trying to start it, gave up and left. I felt it was my job to keep an eye on that game to help inform the unsuspecting victims before they wasted their time. Also, the restaurant next door which is connected inside, had a wait for tables. This sent patrons who would have otherwise never stepped foot in this place over to stand around and crowd the place even more. Overall, I don't think I would avoid the place altogether. I just don't have any reason to go back. Hopefully this place gets it figured out pretty soon. Once Dave and Busters opens down the street, their clientele will be spending their money on a real barcade... End Rant. read more

The lobster macaroni and cheese is outstanding. I came in recently and got the lobster macaroni and cheese followed by the cookie sundae. Two courses, each served in identical cast iron skillets. It was delicious. So why only four stars? Most of the time, they're too loud. It's a big place, I wish they would keep at least part of it quieter for people who prefer a calmer dining experience rather than blasting loud music everywhere. On the rare occasions like the time I came recently where the music is quieter it's great. But as often as not I walk in, decide it's too loud, and walk back out. Not only when there's live music which might understandably be loud, but when there isn't live music they still often play loud music. read more

I've been dying to come here ever since I heard about it opening a few months ago, and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. I've eaten at bar 145 a few times and had phenomenal meals and good service, so I figured this was a surefire way to a great night. One of our people in our party tried to order a beer from our server only to be told she was busy. So he went to the bar to get a beer and was stopped by the server telling him "you need to start a tab with me." When he explained that she just told him she was busy, she replied "well thats not how we do things here." Not a good start, and her short attitude didn't end there. We were greeted with an eye roll and no smile. None of us (clearly under 40) were asked for our ID's, which probably isnt good business practice. Each time we tried to order anything, it took us at least 5 minutes to even find our server. Very unattentive, extremely unfriendly. Game selection is awesome, draft list is awesome, food was bland and very disappointing. I would come back for drinks if it weren't for the awful service. I don't enjoy dining out when I am constantly made to feel like an inconvenience by the staff. read more

This is a wrecked venue. The arcade was fun on the one half of the building, but now there is a bowling alley. The side with the bowling is awkwardly designed as the space was not intended for bowling. The lanes take up most of the area and make navigation poor. Also, it is not enjoyable to sit at the bar or at the few tables they have left as the noise from bowling deafening. Note to the o nee, don't install bowling in a confined area becaus it is noisey and unpleasant. Further, there is still decorations from the gaming decor which doesn't match the bowling. read more

So a small group of us decided to try this barcade back in December. If you've ever been to a barcade before you will hate this place. If not, it may be ok. I'll start with the games. It's small, so there isn't very many. The 2 pinball machines you have to pay for and the Mario cart. The rest are free, but they all don't work. Double dragon didn't function at all. Xmen had a dead joystick, TMNT had a joystick that wouldn't move up, and the Street Fighter joysticks were so loose it wasn't even playable. So that entire experience sucked. We the decided to eat. The waitress's were surprisingly attentive in noticing when we sat and asking what we need. Four of us then decide to order food and the waitress attempts to remember it all. Why must you waitresses try this? WHY!? it's not cool. No on cares if you can remember it all. Write it down. So of course all of our food is messed up. Not one of us received the proper food. We had food runners that kept trying to deliver the wrong food to our table. Then when we got our food all of ours was wrong. Every last one of us. The food itself even though it was wrong was presented good and did taste satisfactory. Except mine because it took forever to receive. After everyone received their food, the waitress comes by and informs me that they are out of my dish. Seriously? You didn't know that when you punched it in and you didn't find out until you brought everyone else's food? So I ordered another dish and I didn't get it until everyone else was done with their food about 45 min later. Disappointing to say the least. One of my friends blurted out that it should be comped and the waitress agreed. My friend got charged for the wrong food she brought out and the menu price of an item he ordered was $2 off. So she fixes the bill and brings it back, he hands her his card and guess what? The original higher amount got charged. Like he wouldn't notice? So she got all frustrated with us and just gave him a $5 bill instead of fixing it. I stopped going to Bar 145 because of the terrible service, I was hoping Reset might be different. But with bad service and games that don't work, there really isn't a point of going here. Hopefully they get the games fixed and the kitchen/service issues get resolved. The features are awesome! Plenty of draft beers and retro games along with awesome game-inspired art everywhere. It's the type of bar that most of us 80s and 90s gamer kids have always wanted to visit or own. But it's a victim of its own success as the place gets unbelievably packed at peak times. Patrons can spill over into the connected Bar 145 next door but on a Saturday it's just chaos. Perhaps if there were 3 more of these or if it were expanded to be 4x its size a lot of money and happy customers would be made. Drinks were super expensive, the serve yourself bar is really interesting, but a rip off. We didn't eat there because idc how good the burgers may be, but 20 bucks for a burger is ridiculous. I'll give it a 2 because it wasn't very busy, therefore service was good. However, the self serve beer taps were terrible. All of them. The beers were fairly flat and it tasted like they infused a sugary additive to everything on the self-serve tap. I had previously enjoyed every beer that I tried from the tap tonight from either the bottle or from other taprooms, and none of them have tasted as bad as what I experienced tonight. Can't comment on the food since didn't get any, but please, if you are a fan of beer like I am, don't come to this place until they fix whatever is going on with their draft pours. read more

Drink prices are okay....The part of the bar that houses the games is packed with very little aisle room and very comfortable in trying to navigate thru the area to other games...and I am a average size guy....The female bartender seemed to have attitude and was extremely unfriendly from the first drink all the way thru the evening.......I don't think we will revisit... read more

Good food, great tap beer selection, and free-to-play old school video games! Also love the atmosphere, lots of retro art. The pretzels and cheese dip are wicked good, get the 20 piece option; they also make a great salmon salad. You can build your own burger, or order one of the standing options. Fun place for video game arcade enthusiasts of all ages. read more

We went to the Reset on Monroe Street after a not-so-great experience at the one in Rossford. It was really good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating for our 9 year olds birthday party. Definitely recommend. read more

Good selection of classic arcade games, however I was disappointed that the pinball machines and Mario Kart were not free. Also a few of the games did not work properly. The food was tasty, but very expensive at the same time. There is a decent selection of beer there as well. read more
