Went to Bier Stube last month and really enjoyed the amount of bar seating they have -- it's a great place to grab a seat and hang out for a while. The bartender stood out because he actually asked what kind of tequila I wanted and listed the options they had, which isn't something you see very often. Usually you just get asked "top shelf or well," so that extra effort was appreciated. The food is typical bar food, but the animal-style fries were a standout. Honestly, they were better than In-N-Out's (at least in my opinion -- and I've only been lucky enough to have In-N-Out once). We didn't go during an event, but the layout definitely makes it seem like they regularly have live music and other entertainment. I went to get a quick bite and drink , was sitting at the bar and was attended but a well professional bartender. Was having a good time until another women bartender asked to see two identifications because "she had to make i wasn't using a fake ID" MA'AM what happened to carding at the entrance? This place always has the game on or has some great live bands. We came for football and they had the Browns on the projector. The food is great and I tried one of their bowls and I was glad I did. We stumbled on this spot and we're happy we did. Most of the breweries we wanted to hit did not open until later, so we were trying to kill some time. This was a great spot. Very large inside. It was pretty quiet in the middle of the day. But the seats at the bar were taken so we sat at a table. He didn't feel like a beer so he ordered a malibu mule. It was so delicious that I had one as my second drink. Then we decided to do a couple of shots. Probably wasn't the best idea looking back. But hey. Gotta live a little. Since there's no flying saucer in this beautiful state, this is as close as it gets for number of taps. 70+ drafts and at least 60 are craft. What I love I how often they change their taps out and they almost always have something I can't find anywhere else in town. They lose a star because they never seem to be staffed appropriately on busy nights. Check my pics from NYE. Total chaos. Bartenders just pick n choose who to serve first instead of 1 bartender take this side, another bartender take the other side etc.. Bartenders always been nice to me so no complaints. The first thing to keep in mind is that the Bier Stube (?House of Eats) is not a hoity toity "gastropub." This place is a BAR. B-A-R, bar. Keeping that in mind, I'd say the food is pretty good. The food might not be "FIVE STARS good," but the Bier Stube gets a five star rating from me because..... THEY HAVE 75 BEERS ON TAP! I gave 'em 5 stars based on that fact alone! 75 beers!! Think of it this way: Here, you could get drunk (or at least catch a pretty decent buzz) every day for a week, all without drinking the same beer twice! Which beers might you find at the Stube? Well, the selection rotates, but in general, you'll find everything from likable crap (PBR, Bud light, etc), to local and semi-local microbrews (Catawba Island, MBBC and Great Lakes) to some higher end offerings (Framboise lambic). FOOD: I like it. It's not the best bar food I've ever eaten, but it is definitely worth a try. I've eaten several of the specialty burgers and wraps, and each has been pretty good. The fries were great, and so were the chicken chunks. I will say this: Making sense of the menu can be a little daunting. It's extensive, and many of the food items have names that are not at all indicative of what they actually are. Back to the CHICKEN CHUNKS: Toledo loves chicken chunks. I'm not sure why they seem to be so much more popular here than elsewhere, but they do seem to be. When ordering chicken chunks, I usually take note of the "Chicken to Breading Ratio." The higher, the better, IMO. At the Bier Stube, the C to B ratio is pretty high. They're not as good as Shawn's chunks or those from the Village Inn, but they're not as shitty as B-Dubs' "batter balls with a shred of chicken in the center." Also pretty exciting, is the fact that they offer 27 dipping sauces. Some of these are standard, and some are unique and outstanding. The crowd? I've been here many times, and I have not been able to characterize the crowd. Of course, I'm usually not there during peak hours. All in all, this is one of my favorite places for a beer and a quick snack. read more

I came here for the first time this past Thursday night (7/11/19) around 10-11pm. First impression wasnt terrible, its definitely a chill bar. However, they lost 2 stars because of their staff. One bartender was super friendly, possibly drunk? I didnt mind her because she did her job nd acknowledged people when they tried getting her attention. The 2nd bartender was just plain rude. Bartender #2 went out of her way to ignore my friend nd I. On numerous occasions, she deliberately ignored us. She attended to the people on my left nd to his right (all maybe a chair or 2 away from us) but only acknowledged us when she decided we were worthy of her assistance. Even getting her attention to close out the tab was a hassle, we tried getting her attention for a solid 5 minutes before she turned to look at us. I dont know if she was having a bad day but just asking for a simple glass of water was an ordeal. When I was finally able to ask for one, she grabbed my old glass looked at it, put it back then proceeded to stare at me for a weird amount of time without saying a word. I live near the LeClaire location & would love to go more often. Burgers are usually great. Ordered 3 take-out meals with onion rings. Sandwiches were great, onion rings were not their usual & should have never been served. Dirty grease filled batter! I do live near by, but who wants that hassle! We went Saturday to see one of our favorite bands and after driving 30 minutes to get there only to learn that I couldn't go in because I had lost my new license (1st time ever) and only had the paper copy that the BMV gave me that morning. Definite fan. No waitresses seemed to be serving the tables but I had no problem getting a beer at the bar. Preferred it anyway to see the draft list which made me SO happy. Got to drink 2 IPAs that night. TWO! Summit Saga IPA and Harpoon IPA! For less than $5/pint? I was one happy girl that night. Got pretty busy, but a good-crowd busy. Not overly obnoxious, at least not in the back room where the pool tables are. Only stayed to watch the game but the kareokers sounded like they were having the time of their lives. This place is awesome! First time here was last night, a Thursday, so they had their deal on $6 Stube Bowls. It was fantastic!! Idk if I was just really hungry which made it really good, but let me tell you, for $6 those bowls are a steal. They also had a very large and satisfying list of beers. Most places carry a large variety of a specific kind of beer and about 1 each of other varieties such as porters/stouts. However, Bier Stube has a big selection of all types of beer! Best bar in Toledo. Hands down. They have amazing karaoke 6 nights a week (everyday except Mondays), and the food is DELICIOUS. It's not your typical bar food. If you're a huge Pulp Fiction fan, be sure to order the Big Kahuna burger. It's fantastic. They even have deep fried cookie dough! Crazy. And the menu is just fun to read. My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a Monday after reading the menu online. The menu sounded amazing, and we were starving. There weren't many people inside, but that's not surprising for a Monday. There was a large selection of draft beer, and a crazy amount of items on the menu. I ordered the "Smack & Cheese": a layer of tater tots, mac and cheese, hot sauce, and chicken pieces on top. My husband ordered the Witwer's Mud Burger: cheese, bacon, tomato, onion, dill pickle, and peanut butter. I wish the food tasted as good as it sounded! The mac and cheese wasn't very flavorful, and the chicken on top was very dry. My husband loved his burger, but I wasn't crazy about it. Id like to give it a 5 star rating because the beer list is always great, lots if different options with something for everyone, but one of the gals there isn't friendly at all. The 2 guys who are always working sunday nites make up for her lack of professionalism and kindness. They are awesome, along with the other staff. The guy working was just ok, for everything we needed/wanted i kept having to get his attention, and there were only about 10 people at the bar. There was a complication w my guys food so i took it inside to get it remade and the dark haired girl behind the bar was so incredibly rude. Didn't apologize for the inconvenience or anything. I told her what sandwich it was and walked away. She had a big attitude every time i went to the bar. When my guy cashed us out she, very obviously, rolled her eyes. 1st time....never going back. After rave reviews, I was excited to try Bier Stube - karaoke bars are my absolute favorite! Upon arrival, the crowd was hostile and so was the staff. As stated online, Bier Stube is scheduled to close at 2:30. With this knowledge, my friend and I requested our Uber/Lyft at 2:00AM. However, both us were presented with somewhat unreasonable wait times like 30 minutes. With this, we worked to adjust our transportation carrier due to its lower cost. This ultimately resulted in a 17 minute wait for Uber. During this time, my friend and I were reprimanded for using the bathroom before heading outside to meet our Uber. Then, as we were walking out, an angry bartender complained about how customers should have called their rides sooner. This in general, was a little much...considering we had called 30 minutes prior to close. Then, to make it all worse I was accused by the same angry bartender, of carrying beers in my purse whilst exiting the bar. This made for an extremely hostile accusation from her and the manager of Bier Stube. This kind of energy is so disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend! The manager should be ashamed of his staff for this far-fetched accusation. Not to be too critical of this situation, but I've lived in a bit city before...I've been to too many bars. Bier Stube is a great place, especially if you love craft beer on tap. This is my favorite place to go when I want to drink beer. They have over sixty beers on tap that are always changing. This bar has a lot of different personalities depending on when you go. They usually have live bands or Karaoke on weekend nights. Friday evening starts with a band that caters to older crowds and as the night goes on the bands change and the crowd gets younger. It's a big place and it gets crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. Weeknights the place is a bit more mellow especially before 11:00pm. They have a lot of TVs, Keno and pool tables in the back. My favorite time to go is early evenings when I just want to hang out and relax. I also really like their trivia nights which are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. This place is always doing something new. This year they just started the "Bier Stube Sports Book." It's an on-line game where you get to pick winners of NFL and college football games. I challenge everyone who comes here to request a detailed bill from the bar staff when you cash out. I guarantee you won't get it. In fact, when they made my friends pay for food up front on a busy night then served the wrong meals, we asked for a copy of the receipt to determine if it was an ordering mistake or kitchen mistake. Well, the world will never know because instead of a copy of the receipt we were handed an OPEN TAB belonging to someone else at our table. When we demanded our receipt the mean blonde bartender called for security to kick us out. Hmm stealing much? I would say that overall this is a decent place. They have lots of options when it comes to drinks. Their food is mediocre I would say for a bar. They have decent snack foods like Jack is and things of that nature. They have music and karaoke often which is good but sometimes gets annoying. They run the same loop on their T.V. non stop which at first was a funny montage of videos but after two or three times it gets old and boring and they have not changed it that I know of since I have first been there. Pretty big place overall with a decent atmosphere but Saturday nights it gets way over crowded with nowhere to sit. read more
