After hearing about how delicious the burgers are here, my family and I decided to check them out. We dined here on Monday night. Everyone had burgers, fries, onion rings. The blonde woman that was making our food was very pleasant and wore gloves. The burgers were all overcooked unfortunately, but we still ate them. I stopped in here again last night for a beer and they had burger sliders on special. I sat at the bar and had a front row seat to the grill. What I witnessed was disgusting. The brunette working the grill did not wear gloves and she was touching everything. The burger buns, raw hamburger meat, pickle slices, raw onion, she grabbed fries with her bare hands right out of the mini fryer, onion rings were thrown in a paper basket with her hands, she was also getting drinks for customers, handling money and touching her face. How has no one contacted the health department??! I finished my beer and left. I loved the ice cold beers in the big mugs and the dive bar atmosphere, but I won't return. read more

Great dive bar/restaurant in Monroe. Yelp came to the rescue again on a drive back to Detroit from Pittsburgh. My friend and I were looking for a good bar burger and this place ticked all the boxes. Burgers were huge and juicy. The patty melt was on buttered Texas toast. The fries were the crispy shoestrings and lightly salted. We shared the Philly steak egg rolls with bang band sauce and ended up taking doggy bags home with the large portions. The ladies working here were all nice and made us feel welcome. They have a full bar, keno, and an outside dining area in addition to seating inside. Larson's was excellent and the perfect place for a big ole bar burger and a few drinks. read more

OK, I hate to be a 1 star review guy but I think it's warranted based on 2 visits. Had heard the burgers were good so we really wanted to like the place. Visit 1 was in August on a Thursday night. Planned plenty of time before an engagement later that night. Ordered burgers and fried appetizer/side. Over 90 minutes in we still hadn't received our food, flagged down our server and said we'd be out the door if we didn't have the food in 5 minutes. She said, "ok, I ust checked on it and your food is next". She then walked to the kitchen (which is in the open), talked to the cook, and looked at us so it was clear they were discussing our order. The cook then went digging and pulled out what our appetizer/side was and put it in the oven. We could see the timer she set - 8 minutes. We left money for our drinks and a tip and left. Chalked that up to maybe a bad day so went back again this week (October). Ordered only burgers. Whole thing took 90 minutes again to get served and never had a server come by once. 90 minutes, never a refill. And the burger was so underwhelming. So yeah, 1 star for mediocre food, excruciatingly slow service, and poor customer attention. read more

Stopped in on the night before New Year's Eve and Larsons was very busy. We had great customer service. They had the fire pits going on outside. Looked like they had some sort of office party going on, but the weight staff was great. Or the hamburger which is always outstanding and highly recommended one in the area. read more

Food was very good, I went on a Saturday and the service was almost the worst I ever had. This could be fixed if they were actually staffed correctly. Too bad I couldn't have more beers because the service was super slow. read more

Larson's Bar in Monroe, Michigan, has the best burger? Well, I'm not sure that it is "The Best," but it sure is in the running. Larson's is housed in a nondescript, windowless building. Light filters in through a sliding glass door that leads to an outdoor patio, and is otherwise, dimly lit by the glow of neon and televisions mounted on the walls. The seated dining space is contiguous with the counter bar where both drinks are poured and orders are cooked on a well-seasoned flattop - The cook jumping between the grill, taking orders, and serving drinks in a masterful display of multi-tasking. Despite being endlessly busy, service is fast and friendly. The food is cheap, greasy, and tasty - The holy trinity of bar fare. The patty melt and ham & cheese sandwich are a couple of my favorites. The mini tacos are really just fried half-moons, filled with a meaty substance, but I find them utterly irresistible. I suggest skipping the fries - They are really nothing special, and you will hardly need more than the overstuffed sandwiches and burgers offer! read more

Lease a quick stop because my muffler fell off was just taking a few minutes to take the broken piece off to put it in my truck. When one of the service people from the bar came out and started questioning me like it wasn't my vehicle asking me who's car is that? What am I doing to the car and if I can open the door to the car I don't know what was wrong with this guy or what maybe he was drunk on the job because he was slurring his speech but it felt racially motivated because I'm the only brown guy there and he's asking me when I just walked out of my own vehicle, if I own the vehicleshitty service thought he was coming over to help. Slow slow service! Ordered mushrooms and after a half hour we asked where they were, waitress said a few minutes. NOPE we watched them put in the fryer which is behind the bar right after we asked. Somewhat divey...but clean, comfortable, and friendly. There are games, lottery ticket machines, keno, all your typical bar stuff.... but oh my god what this place is known for... is its hamburger. My Bacon Burger was awesome and me wife's cheeseburger was top notch. Prices were reasonable on everything and our " Yukon Jack " pours were decent. The French Fries. You will not find a better bar burger in town! Nice and quite bar won't have to yell to hear yourself talk.

Nice local bar. Not to loud. Friendly bartenders. Don't see any pool table or darts just video games. But have good food and drink prices but kind of took awhile for my carry out. They are known for their Burgers. The Burgers are big and juicy and very good. So are the onion rings which is what I normally get but get the large sized onion rings as small is too small. read more

Group of us went there expecting great things, waitress was very friendly but could have used more help. Waitressing, bussing and bar tending at the same time is no easy task. Waitress took down order correctly, cook screwed it up. Most of our burgers were overcooked, dry, and getting cold. Our food came out in 3 groups each about 10 minutes apart. The first group was done eating before the last group got their food. The fries were amazing. The fries were the meals saving grace. I will however give Larsons another chance one of these days. Great beer selections and low prices ($2.50 for a 25oz. beer on some nights). You can get drunk at a reasonable price in this place, but watch out since it's a popular target for police late at night. The food is even good, despite it looking like a place that would have crappy bar food. Their sliders are delicious. Service and parking are always good, but it can become very crowded and noisy since it's a smaller building. read more

Well, I've been here a few times and the food is good. Then on 3/27/22 we went there for lunch and sat at the bar. Omg, it was horrible to watch. The cook used the cash register, got it himself a drink, then went to the grill and got out cheese and buns without gloves or washing his hands. Then the waitress came over and used her bare hands, without washing them first, and got out the pickles, lettuce and other toppings for our burgers. It was disgusting to watch. We've heard about how great the burgers are at Larson's bar and they did not disappoint. Mushroom Swiss burger came with generous helping of fried onions & mushrooms. Husbands cheeseburger was excellent as well. One down side - there are no side dinner salads but burgers came with tomatoes, lettuce, onion & pickles. Filling but not too much food! read more

I have been there several times and found the service is as others have described - understaffed! SO patience must be had for any order. This is a consistent observation. Found it to be quite loud at night and sometimes violence has been seen. Now for the "best burgers" - yes mine has tasted great! HOWEVER I saw the "bartender/cook/waitress" handle money then hand patty my burger!!!! I sent it back uneaten and will never consider the place for a burger again. The owner or manager was sitting at the bar by the door. Place was over half full and one person was waitress, bartender, cook, and busserr. I give her five stars and the owner/manager a big ZERO! Food was hot and drinks were good; but you felt bad for the one person actually working! No time to tend to the restrooms. I have been in here many, many times. A bit of a crude place at times...loud language now and then...even during the day but have never seen a fight. The beer is good...a few tv's but not the best place to sports on those tv's. Good place to meet with the boys. Now...the burgers...they are good...probably very good...but not the best in the county. The fries are frozen would be my guess...certainly not fresh ones. All in all? It is what it is!! read more

This is a really nice little bar. I have been in here a few times over the years. The beer has always been cold and the crowd low key and pleasant. Recently my wife and her co-workers have started stopping in on the occasional Friday after work for burgers and drinks. She raved about how good the burgers were so, I decided to see for myself. Took my two sons in for burgers and I will have to admit it; the burgers are darn good. Everything is fresh and tasty. I would have to say that they probably are the best in Monroe. The beer selection was quite improved since the last time that I was in also. The service has been great also. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. I don't get the couple of bad reviews, that was not my experience at all. It is nothing fancy but, it is darn fine bar with excellent burgers. I recommend trying it. read more

This place is horrible, wait staff was slow as could be, the grill looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the early 40's. Once I asked for the check it took another 15 mins to take my money and deliver my change. The whole time I was there (about an hour) the cook washed his hands once, well put hand sanitizer on them, no gloves and could routinely be seen touching everything and everything just to return handling food. I can only foresee myself going back one more time in my entire life, and that would be due to the zombie apocalypse to find patient 0 because I am pretty sure the cleanliness of the food prep area, and the cook of this place will be the cause of the zombie apocalypse. read more

Hubby and I had lunch Monday 6/5/19 both of us got the burger that last year we liked very much. This time however both were over cooked and dry, I should have sent it back but, it took forever to get and I was hungry. They were under staffed one poor little waitress running around with food & drinks inside and out. Bill comes and everything higher burgers and fries, she doesn't know why, comes back and says that it's an old menu (very dirty) there is no excuse for that and I wasn't going to stand for a dried out burger at a higher price.
