Pineapple Express Bowl

This place always has the game on or has some great live bands. We came for football and they had the Browns on the projector. The food is great and I tried one of their bowls and I was glad I did. I tried the Pineapple Express bowl and watch out. It can be a tad spicy! The food was great, service is always great, and the games were on every TV we will be back on game days.

Why everyone does not rate this 5 stars is beyond me. There should be a Bier Stube in every town across America! Great food, friendly staff. Love the Pha King house beer. Chicken wing Sunday can't be beat!

We stumbled on this spot and we're happy we did. Most of the breweries we wanted to hit did not open until later, so we were trying to kill some time. This was a great spot. Very large inside. It was pretty quiet in the middle of the day. But the seats at the bar were taken so we sat at a table. He didn't feel like a beer so he ordered a malibu mule. It was so delicious that I had one as my second drink. Then we decided to do a couple of shots. Probably wasn't the best idea looking back. But hey. Gotta live a little. We liked it here and would definitely recommend it!

Since there's no flying saucer in this beautiful state, this is as close as it gets for number of taps. 70+ drafts and at least 60 are craft. What I love I how often they change their taps out and they almost always have something I can't find anywhere else in town. They lose a star because they never seem to be staffed appropriately on busy nights. Check my pics from NYE. Total chaos. Bartenders just pick n choose who to serve first instead of 1 bartender take this side, another bartender take the other side etc.. Bartenders always been nice to me so no complaints. Never ate here and as my buddy Mike P says this is a BAR. I tend to shy away from food at these type spots. Karaoke several times a week, DJ on weekend. Everybody type crowd most days, college crowd late weekend nights. Full bar, very reasonable prices. Come get a beer. You may catch me there

The first thing to keep in mind is that the Bier Stube (?House of Eats) is not a hoity toity "gastropub." This place is a BAR. B-A-R, bar. Keeping that in mind, I'd say the food is pretty good. The food might not be "FIVE STARS good," but the Bier Stube gets a five star rating from me because..... THEY HAVE 75 BEERS ON TAP! I gave 'em 5 stars based on that fact alone! 75 beers!! Think of it this way: Here, you could get drunk (or at least catch a pretty decent buzz) every day for a week, all without drinking the same beer twice! Which beers might you find at the Stube? Well, the selection rotates, but in general, you'll find everything from likable crap (PBR, Bud light, etc), to local and semi-local microbrews (Catawba Island, MBBC and Great Lakes) to some higher end offerings (Framboise lambic). FOOD: I like it. It's not the best bar food I've ever eaten, but it is definitely worth a try. I've eaten several of the specialty burgers and wraps, and each has been pretty good. The fries were great, and so were the chicken chunks. I will say this: Making sense of the menu can be a little daunting. It's extensive, and many of the food items have names that are not at all indicative of what they actually are. Back to the CHICKEN CHUNKS: Toledo loves chicken chunks. I'm not sure why they seem to be so much more popular here than elsewhere, but they do seem to be. When ordering chicken chunks, I usually take note of the "Chicken to Breading Ratio." The higher, the better, IMO. At the Bier Stube, the C to B ratio is pretty high. They're not as good as Shawn's chunks or those from the Village Inn, but they're not as shitty as B-Dubs' "batter balls with a shred of chicken in the center." Also pretty exciting, is the fact that they offer 27 dipping sauces. Some of these are standard, and some are unique and outstanding. The crowd? I've been here many times, and I have not been able to characterize the crowd. Of course, I'm usually not there during peak hours. All in all, this is one of my favorite places for a beer and a quick snack.

This place is awesome! First time here was last night, a Thursday, so they had their deal on $6 Stube Bowls. It was fantastic!! Idk if I was just really hungry which made it really good, but let me tell you, for $6 those bowls are a steal. They also had a very large and satisfying list of beers. Most places carry a large variety of a specific kind of beer and about 1 each of other varieties such as porters/stouts. However, Bier Stube has a big selection of all types of beer! I definitely had a ton of fun and will be coming back for sure. Another side note, their ranch is amazing!! Not sure if they make it themselves or what, but it's surprisingly good. Below is a pic of the Philly Steak Stube Bowl and the BBQ Stube Bowl, along with my porter and an IPA.

Craft beers on tap, multiple TVs with sound during the Ohio vs. Michigan State game., plenty of seating and pool tables. Oh, and there's kareoke in the other room if I get drunk enough?! Definite fan. No waitresses seemed to be serving the tables but I had no problem getting a beer at the bar. Preferred it anyway to see the draft list which made me SO happy. Got to drink 2 IPAs that night. TWO! Summit Saga IPA and Harpoon IPA! For less than $5/pint? I was one happy girl that night. Got pretty busy, but a good-crowd busy. Not overly obnoxious, at least not in the back room where the pool tables are. Only stayed to watch the game but the kareokers sounded like they were having the time of their lives. I hear they have some pretty amazing food so I'll have to come back to try that.

Great local dive with some sweet features. Three pool tables, kareoke most nights, nice selection of draft beers and even a couple ciders to choose from. Plenty of TV action with their own house channel. Didn't try the food but very interesting menu with some good twists on the usual bar fryer grub. If you're looking for classy, go elsewhere, if you're looking for a friendly locals bar, this is a good one.

The side choice of mashed potatoes with sausage gravy is also an absolute favorite of mine! Such an upgrade from the dry and crumbly baked potato at TR. As soon as I entered the hostess asked if I'd like to sit at the bar and that's what I chose. I'd been traveling all day so I was hungry, but didn't want anything heavy. I knew I wanted a salad and after perusing my options, I decided on the chicken cobb salad. I was huge. AND good! It came with a slice of toasted bread which I devoured. It had just the right amount of everything: tomatoes, chicken, bacon, blue cheese, and salad mix. The dressing came on the side, which is the way I like it. I got the honey mustard salad. OMG it was so good. Maybe because I was starving, but....... no, it was good. I was also thirsty after traveling all day so all I drank was ice cold water. She kept em coming! The TV's were rightly tuned to Wimbledon and other sports. The music wasn't too loud, but you could hear it. Overall, Bubba's is alright with me! Oh yeah, while I was eating the manager came by to see if the food was okay. That's rare. Everybody was professional and polite!

We came back on a Sunday night, what I will say is they have some great specials. I was able to get a half a pound of chicken chunks for eight dollars. That's a damn good value. It would've been nice if they had prepared them properly. I requested my chunks to be unsauced and they arrived in a pool of barbecue sauce. I am pretty sure the barbecue sauce is open pit, and it was nothing special. I would've much preferred to have the sauce on the side as ordered. Now let's talk about the service. I will give them some grace because it looked like there was only one server in the dining room for the first 15 to 20 minutes that we were seated. It was our own fault, but the only booth that we saw open was dirty and we chose to sit there anyways with there being four of us. They did come clean the table, but then it was a very long time before anybody came over to get our drink and food order. My other complaint in regards to service was the timing of the food itself. It probably sounds petty, but it's a pet peeve of mine when the appetizer/salads/soups come out with the meal. My friend and I both got French onion soup and it came out with our meals. I am guessing it sat for a minute because the soup itself wasn't crazy hot and the cheese wasn't soft and melted like it should be coming right off the broiler. The inside looks relatively unchanged. Dimly lit, nostalgic, and for the most part clean. Our server was friendly, service was painfully slow. Again, not her fault and I'm guessing the bar was not expecting to be that full on a Sunday evening. My husband got a burger that was good. The hand cut fries were excellent. But between the speed of the service, the incorrect order, and the poor timing they're losing a couple stars I would come back and give it another go because I do think the food was a good value for the money.

Upon entering the restaurant, it feels like a tired version of a typical Applebee's chain. I was excited to see my book club friends for lunch, so I was focused on enjoying my time here. The menu has a lot of food options that were accompanied by pictures, leading to an enhanced idea of what to expect. Our server was nice enough but not quite on top of her game. In the middle of our book club discussion, she interrupted because she wanted to be sure she had our checks straight with correct beverages and meals. I appreciated that she wanted to ensure the accuracy of separate checks for seven people, but it was disruptive. Guess I wouldn't have thought twice if everything else had gone well. I'll speak to my meal... I had ordered chicken breast with smashed potatoes and broccoli. There was no sauce to flavor the chicken, so I requested a side of ranch dressing. It took a while to receive the dressing and it wasn't even good when it arrived- very thin consistency and little flavor. The smashed potatoes were okay. The chicken breast seemed like it had been formed from pieces of chicken and molded together. Perhaps I'm wrong, but that was my take. I love broccoli but it was overseasoned and salty for my taste. Another friend had ordered the same thing and agreed that the broccoli wasn't what she expected. I didn't finish my meal or want to take home leftovers. When our server presented my check, I commented that .75 upcharge for the ranch seemed overpriced- especially since it was clear that I had used very little. I also commented that I found the broccoli overly salted and our server said it was "hit or miss" but that she personally liked the seasoning. Okay, so we have different tastes. I was very disappointed in my meal, which cost $21+ before tip for lunch. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this restaurant and would object if someone else suggested it.
