Toast and Tap - Kiwi do you love me

Toast and Tap

We completely stumbled on this bar as they had only been open for a few weeks…read more They had a fantastic staff that was very pleasant and quick to get our order in. They had an amazing cocktail menu so I ordered the "Kiwi do you live me" drink and it was delicious! We only had a short amount of time before our plans so we didn't get to try and good, but it all looked delicious! We will be coming back to try that food.

When we arrived the host? Not sure who he was just starts talking about the only seats at the bar. Didn't get a word in edgewise to say hey I have a reservation. We were the only folks sitting at the bar so ok. So back to where I was. 40 minutes later sitting directly at the bar trying to make eye contact and caught a server finally to take our order. Now 4 more folks came n sat at the bar. Somehow their food order got taken and before ours. My man is ticked and about to leave. Ordered a pearmosa which is a woodchuck cider not a mimosa to me. We got a waffle (cold), bacon, grits and the seafood grits. Most were cold. Butter just melted and that's after I heated it up next day. The flavor of the food was good. Just not proper temp, service sucked and the parking sucks. Limited street parking or pay to park lots. Im going to give them some time to grow before trying again. Two words for this black owned establishment. Do better

We came a bit early since we were so eager and we sat at the bar for a few drinks before our table was ready. I ordered the Water on Mark cocktail with lucre since they were out, but substituted with pear and to be honest. It was a fantastic drink. My fiancé ordered a smoked old fashioned and we watched the bartender work her magic. The ambiance of this place makes you feel so cozy, but with such a vibrant crew who really know it all when it comes to the restaurant business. We were then guided to our seats and we started to drool over the amazing food menu. We saw a wild mushroom toast for an anti pasta and we had to order it. The flavor was impeccable. The whipped ricotta was a perfectly creamy element to bring out all the amazing flavors of the mushroom and sauce. We also had to order a Caesar salad, because when in Rome, right? We were so excited for our main dishes, but we could've kept eating more and more of that anti pastas. I ordered the Seared skin Bay Salmon and he ordered the Chicken Parmesan. To say both were delicious would be an understatement. The chicken Parmesan sauce was on another level. You can tell that they're making the sauce in house. My dish was the best of both worlds. The salmon and pasta was delicious separately, but complimented the other flavors perfectly. We didn't have room for dessert, but man were we wanting to try some. We will be coming back here as much as we can in the future. Amazing spot.

The ambiance was welcoming and cozy, and the drinks were great! The band was really amazing...and a sincere & heartfelt thanks goes out to the house band: Andre Wright, Gene Parker and his son Ray. (Special addition Mr. Bobbie Johnston and his family - they provided food, love and hugs) To everyone, YOU ARE APPRECIATED! Thank you Peacock Cafe staff for allowing the space and opportunity to celebrate the life of our dear brother. We sincerely appreciate the warmth and hospitality that I'm sure he would've most certainly been proud of!

This bar has been here probably as long as I've been in Toledo and that's over 15 years. When you walk in you see this beautiful bar made out of wood. I don't know who made it but it is gorgeous. They have a nice selection of alcohol for cocktails and Sutter Home type wine. Even a few craft beers for me. They have special events like jazz on Thursday for free with free appetizers and host comedy events on occasion. Only problem is you have to search it out. They don't do a great job of advertising. Now this place has a reputation of being a primarily black bar but I have seen folks of all ethnicities here and they are welcome. The bartenders are semi-friendly depending who you get. Prices are like you would expect being near downtown. AKA overpriced. But the bathrooms are clean and the atmosphere is nice. Come check it out

It's been on my list for a while now and I would say it was the worth the wait. So, if you're waiting, stop! Just go! This trip, I went the appetizers route. Next trip, I might get a few different heavier options. However, I will always get the whiskey glazed Brussels. The pretzels were a little harder than my preference. The basket of fries was very hot. The Brie was pretty good as well and they definitely serve enough of it for a table to share. Whiskey: Well I actually ordered an Apple pie martini because it caught my eye on their featured menu. I then (mistake on my part) ordered two smoked manhattan's. Those were great. I preferred the smoked vs not smoked. And all were decent or standard sized glasses. The atmosphere is perfect for recapping your day or catching up with people. There's a lot of space and plenty of seating options. There's definitely a cozy feel to this place.

A couple looked in and saw that tables were available but not bussed You are a restaurant, do you not expect to be busy at dinner? On Friday night. We were eventually seated in what I call the 'overflow' room Separated from the main bar area. No table cloths No silverware. No service for almost 10 min. Candle on table, not lit. Felt like we were seated in the garage. Sad that the ambiance was flat for the money we spent to eat and have cocktails. When asking about paying the bill, we were told it's easier for her if we just pay online. There goes the personal connection that you expect when paying that kind of money. The food was delicious. Just wish the experience of eating there matched.

If you need an after work pick-me-up, OR, if you want to edge off after work, BHD has you covered! This place is both a coffee shop, and the "speakeasy." Want a coffee or tea drink, a bagel, a banana, or a bougie pastry? You can find these in the cafe. If you want an excellent, if not overpriced, cocktail? You can find it at the bottom of the spiral staircase, in the bar area. The area directly above the bar (up a few steps up from the cafe), is a nice seating area. The view, over the parking lot(s) of the river, is surprisingly scenic. Service: This is a weird one...on nearly every occasion that we've been here, the wife and I got strange vibes. The people behind the counter in the coffee shop seemed, for some reason, snobby and aloof. C'mon, girls, you're baristas, not prima ballerinas...Still, the service was at least fast and accurate. I like the atmosphere. From the comfy chairs in the cafe, to the "secret" back door of the speakeasy, this place is very cool. However, THE BAR NEEDS A FOOT RAIL! All in all, this is a very nice edition to the downtown coffee, and bar, scene.

The whole ambiance and vibe of the area is very rustic and more old school which I love. The meat was delicious too, I've tried almost everything on the menu. The brisket is tender, juicy, and flavorful. The wings there are crispy on the outside and has a very nice succulent Smokey flavor on the inside. MY favorite thing on the menu would have to be the beef-fat potatoes. Really crispy and delicious! It is a QR scan-coded restaurant which makes ordering food easy and without wait! Self served drinks and an amazing bar! 10/10 would recommend to everybody I know!

4/4 = 5? Yep…read more We've been here 4 times, and we've been happy 4 times. That adds up to 5 stars. In general, I hate online ordering. So, at RB, there is still that option (using QR codes to order and pay). But now, if you'd rather, you can order your food and pay at the hostess station. In both cases, the food is brought to your table. Speaking of food, RB is pretty damned good. The brisket, the mac and cheese, the greens? Hell yeah. I would say that the greens could use a little pork flavor. But in general, the Mrs and I were very happy. Liked the sauces, too. The atmosphere is clean, open, industrial, and includes 10 PINBALL machines! And a mirror ball? Ok. The benches are padded for comfort. The prices? BBQ is expensive, but I'll put in a little overtime...I'll (we will) be back! 5 stars!
