This location faces Ware Rd. near the convention center, just north of Best Buy, and in between Ithaca and Kennedy Ave. This was my first time here and only wanted a coffee and a place to chat with a friend. I made a good choice. It was pleasant, peaceful, not crowded, and the coffee was very good. Of course, you choose which kind of roast you want, and there's a choice of syrups, various kinds of milk or cream, multiple choices for sweetener. Their cups are cute and have a plug if you need to travel with it. The decoration was industrial, modern, but cozy. Their people are friendly and accommodating, and their prices are competitive. I liked it much better than the popular competition with a siren logo. The tables and chairs are comfy. My only issue was the 90° backs on the wall bench... while it was padded, the bench is narrow and the back too straight up for my body. After a while I had to change to one of the chairs. Im not from here, so of course i Yelped a nearby coffee spot. It's a pretty large coffee shop with games available to pass the time. They have quite a few lattes to choose from, as well as breakfast items and pastries. The employees greet you as you enter and deliver your food/coffee to your table. I needed a coffee on a long drive from South Padre Island to Laredo, Tx & Reserva was right off the highway. Despite my previous suckish experiences, this time it was golden! It seemed that there was a new employee as she took my order and seemed a bit nervous. The nervousness did not outshine her good customer service! Also, my coffee was handed to me in a reusable cup with the nicest lid, something I have never seen at any other coffee shop before! This definitely made my experience better & had me talking about it to my friends. Lovely place! I wish I had gotten the name of the young lady who made my coffee. She accidentally threw away mine and my husband's drinks (totally our fault -- we both went to the restroom and left them unattended). When I came back out, I thought my husband had taken them, but they were gone. MY. FAVORITE. COFFEE SHOP. IN THE VALLEY. When you step in the store, you can already tell that this is a calm and soothing coffee shop to study in, to lowkey hang out, to pretty much do anything. I first came when I visited my boyfriend in McAllen. I'm a fan of coffee shops and caffeine in general; so when I travel, I tend to look for coffee shops. I often look at cleanliness and vibes, and Reserva did not disappoint. The Barista immediately gave us the best recommendations and their seasonal favorites were top notch. The Rose Dark Chocolate Mocha, the Almendra, Lavender latte, all of them. My boyfriend and I got hooked so hard that we went almost every day before I left Texas. I need this coffee shop in my life. I need this coffee shop in Toronto, Pronto! Oh and their avocado toast with salmon on top? I pray they don't increase the price. If I lived in Texas, I'd buy it every day. read more

After failing to find a brunch spot this morning, the photos of avocado toast drew me to Reserva. I ordered said toast and the seasonal apple butter latte. I will likely crave this latte come next fall - I was skeptical but it tasted somewhere between an apple pie and a caramel apple lollipop. Well done. The avocado toast was fine. It got the job done. The egg was also well poached. Kudos on that. Especially in a coffee shop. I was impressed. And I'm grateful that as I had missed brunch hours, Reserva had Avo toast on tap. I will say I didn't love having an extra plain toast. I used it to sop up extra yolk but i dunno just felt a little incomplete. The sourdough was definitely among the more sour sourdoughs I've had as of late which is lovely but it overpowered the mild avocado and egg and while I loved the Chile oil it still didn't really balance it out. Ambiance is current and hip! Very Clean. On a Sunday afternoon it was full but not packed. I will say while aesthetically I liked the decor it was a little dark and I didn't feel like lingering. Staff was professional and prompt, but no one seemed particularly happy. So it missed that X factor of hospitality. One of the staff was more attentive and assuring that folks had been served or were aware of the status of their orders. I'm so annoyed. I drove across town on the national day of coffee to get coffee with my wife and to post a photo for social media. When I placed my order, the worker said happy national coffee day and when I got the coffees, the cream that should have looked like a nice leaf for design was just dumped in the coffee as if they didn't think I was going to open it and take a photo. When I saw the top, I told her I was gonna take a photo of the coffee because it's national coffee day and they looked at me as if they were surprised I even opened the lid. Don't be lazy and cut corners, either be better, higher or better employees, or don't advertise designs on the coffee and then not do that. Ambience is amazing, Service is meh. They won't let you put 2 different milks in your coffee which is weird to me. I like to mix almond and Heavy cream. (dietary reasons) Since they wouldn't put both themselves I asked if I could have my coffee with one of the milks and the other milk on the side (i'll mix them myself) and they said they could NOT Give me nor charge me for anything less than 8oz of heavy cream...what in the world? Funny story. While on a small tour with my band we were looking for a coffee shop. Reserva popped up as being a place near where we were. I checked the reviews and saw a 1 star review from a dude named "Joseph T" that was hands down one of the most petty and entitled pieces of yelp review fiction i have ever had the displeasure (or pleasure if laughs was the intended response) of stumbling across. Dude was mad that he got in his car and drove somewhere on "national coffee day" as if driving on that day somehow upped the already low stakes of this soon to be coffee transaction. He was mad that at the drive through window the barista handed him his coffee with, GASP, the lid on so he was was unable to see the latte art they make using the milk. THE AUDACITY! Because ya know.... mcdonalds had a pretty good experience handing somebody too hot of a coffee at the drive through. Yeah that ended well for both parties. So this dude is mad they didnt hand him his HOT coffee WITHOUT a lid on NATIONAL COFFEE DAY!! So he couldn't see the milk art on his coffee and therefore was unable to take a photo for his Instagram on NATIONAL COFFEE DAY... I mean seriously, the nerve, the lack on consideration, the pure caffinated abuse they dealt this poor man at the drive through. Anyways this review was so ridiculous and petty that me and my band had to go see for ourselves the evil coffee shop in question and guess what? They were awesome. Clean. Good service. And sure enough our lattes were topped with cool coffee art cus we didn't GO THROUGH THE DRIVE THROUGH. A really great find in RGV. The decor inside is well-done and very chic. Lots of seating, including stools, table and chairs and cushioned benches. The staff was busy baking and very friendly. I ordered a bacon Gouda baguette and couldn't believe how much Gouda they put on it - tons! You could see the thick melted slices and it tasted delicious. The bread was so fresh. I had the seasonal pumpkin latte and it was made to the perfect hot temperature and tasted great - not at all syrupy or sugary like some tend to be. It really comes down to personal taste when choosing a coffee shop as your frequent stop, this wasn't it for me.
