Reserva Coffee Roasters is a great coffee shop serving coffees, specialty coffees, Chai, Macha, tea, and more. For food they have sandwiches, breakfasts such as Eggs Benedict, bagels, pastries, desserts (tiramisu!), to name a fee. This location faces Ware Rd. near the convention center, just north of Best Buy, and in between Ithaca and Kennedy Ave. This was my first time here and only wanted a coffee and a place to chat with a friend. I made a good choice. It was pleasant, peaceful, not crowded, and the coffee was very good. Of course, you choose which kind of roast you want, and there's a choice of syrups, various kinds of milk or cream, multiple choices for sweetener. Their cups are cute and have a plug if you need to travel with it. The decoration was industrial, modern, but cozy. Their people are friendly and accommodating, and their prices are competitive. I liked it much better than the popular competition with a siren logo. The tables and chairs are comfy. My only issue was the 90° backs on the wall bench... while it was padded, the bench is narrow and the back too straight up for my body. After a while I had to change to one of the chairs. Next time I need to go hungry so I can try their food.
I needed a coffee on a long drive from South Padre Island to Laredo, Tx & Reserva was right off the highway. Despite my previous suckish experiences, this time it was golden! It seemed that there was a new employee as she took my order and seemed a bit nervous. The nervousness did not outshine her good customer service! Also, my coffee was handed to me in a reusable cup with the nicest lid, something I have never seen at any other coffee shop before! This definitely made my experience better & had me talking about it to my friends. Additionally, I sat away from the bar waiting for my coffee & before I knew it, the coffee was brought to me despite it being a to go order. This is always a plus for me. The Iced Hazelnut Latte with Cold foam was delicious, I would definitely go back from a quick pick up! The inside is dim which isn't my favorite vibe for working or conversations, but I will say they have a lot of sitting if you are interested!
Our Americano was 10/10, and we loved the raspberry cheesecake. Ambiance was quiet and led to better conversation. We were served promptly, and had no wait time.
MY. FAVORITE. COFFEE SHOP. IN THE VALLEY. When you step in the store, you can already tell that this is a calm and soothing coffee shop to study in, to lowkey hang out, to pretty much do anything. I first came when I visited my boyfriend in McAllen. I'm a fan of coffee shops and caffeine in general; so when I travel, I tend to look for coffee shops. I often look at cleanliness and vibes, and Reserva did not disappoint. The Barista immediately gave us the best recommendations and their seasonal favorites were top notch. The Rose Dark Chocolate Mocha, the Almendra, Lavender latte, all of them. My boyfriend and I got hooked so hard that we went almost every day before I left Texas. I need this coffee shop in my life. I need this coffee shop in Toronto, Pronto! Oh and their avocado toast with salmon on top? I pray they don't increase the price. If I lived in Texas, I'd buy it every day.
The inside of this place is super cute! The barista was very nice and the service was prompt. The avocado toast was SO good!! My coffee on the other hand was meh. It was way too sweet and just tasted like milk. I would definitely add an extra shot or something next time. Or get a different drink. All in all I enjoyed this place and would come back to try some other food!
Although one of the lady's seemed kinda disconnected, it was a pretty cool coffee shop! I liked the different flavors of cheesecake. We ended up getting the cookies & cream and guava flavors. We each had some kind of hot coffee (I forgot the names), and I wanted to try their lemonade. Turns out there are even different flavors for the lemonade! I got the pineapple lemonade, and it did not disappoint. It's such a cute coffeeshop to chat with friends, go on a little date, or study. Oh! Also the latte art is so cute! Very nice :)
Delicious and great atmosphere. I also had the waffle with strawberries and it was perfection.
After failing to find a brunch spot this morning, the photos of avocado toast drew me to Reserva. I ordered said toast and the seasonal apple butter latte. I will likely crave this latte come next fall - I was skeptical but it tasted somewhere between an apple pie and a caramel apple lollipop. Well done. The avocado toast was fine. It got the job done. The egg was also well poached. Kudos on that. Especially in a coffee shop. I was impressed. And I'm grateful that as I had missed brunch hours, Reserva had Avo toast on tap. I will say I didn't love having an extra plain toast. I used it to sop up extra yolk but i dunno just felt a little incomplete. The sourdough was definitely among the more sour sourdoughs I've had as of late which is lovely but it overpowered the mild avocado and egg and while I loved the Chile oil it still didn't really balance it out. Ambiance is current and hip! Very Clean. On a Sunday afternoon it was full but not packed. I will say while aesthetically I liked the decor it was a little dark and I didn't feel like lingering. Staff was professional and prompt, but no one seemed particularly happy. So it missed that X factor of hospitality. One of the staff was more attentive and assuring that folks had been served or were aware of the status of their orders. Overall, I would return when In McAllen and especially try out the pastries (Guava Cheesecake sounds amazing.)
Do not come to this location. I normally loved coming to Reserva as they provide a certain quality of roasted beans for their coffee. Whether their baristas are untrained in this location or they fail to upkeep their product, I regret suggesting this location for their coffee. The taste was so acidic and bitter. I tried giving it another chance and paid for a second beverage, which was worse than the first one. Both drinks and money wasted. If you actually care how your espresso/coffee tastes, don't come here.
The coffee shop is so perfect to have a coffee with your family or friends. Staff are very friendly and professional. Coffee is great and the place is neat and pleasant.
The service was friendly and great insight on favorite drinks. We ordered the smoke salmon avocado toast. LIKE its was heavenly and salmon blended well with the avocado smooth savory and smokey. The coffee was good too. YUM The ambiance was modern and light music. Coming from a big city to a small town this is the coffee place to Visit while in the Valley. YUM!
Definitely my go to healthy breakfast spot in the Valley! The azucar moreno has become my absolute favorite hot drink paired up with their avocado toast. I ask for a poached egg on top of the toast and it's always done just as a poached egg should be. The extra drizzle of their oil with sesame seeds add the extra needed to take this over the top. Quick service and attentive staff!

When I was working in McAllen a lot, I always considered it a treat to stop in at Reserva. Now that I travel back for visits, I am happy to see the stores thriving. I almost always take a picture of the pillow and keep my coffee cup so I can remember my visit until next time. The menu is curated to focus on unique offerings. The staff are quite supportive. I would like if they had additional simple healthy food items to purchase and perhaps some small bags of ground coffee to give as gifts. read more

Cute space, good relaxing environment reminded me of some coffee shops I have frequented in Mexico. I got the Dulce, Leche coffee, hot with half-and-half, so rich and creamy along with fantastic service and nice morning cup to get the day started. read more
Sister and niece wanted to try this place on a Saturday where we had time to stop by and spend coffee time together and you guys did not disappoint! Even my wife who hates "latte" drinks and always just orders drip and almond milk totally loved that you guys frothed her regular drink but didn't dress it all up for her. Not sure if they had pastries but would have been a great addition to our visit. The feel of the place is quaint and relaxing to be sure. read more

Do not come to this location. I normally loved coming to Reserva as they provide a certain quality of roasted beans for their coffee. So far this is the best coffee spot I have had in the RGV. Highly Recommended by the family in McAllen. Very clean and the Baristas their were very nice and took the time to explain some of the drinks. I had the Almendra Dark Chocolate Mocha. Not only was it the right temperature but taste great. Excellent place to have a small get together or meet up with a friend. They also have pastry's too. Oh and they have free stickers for those sticker collectors. read more
Stumbled across this little gem because I was in the mood for sweets and some coffee. I didn't do any research ahead of time to figure out what they're known for and ended up ordering a mango cheesecake and iced white mocha latte. My first impression of this place was that it is definitely a coffee shop I would like to return. Calm jazz music was playing, lots of open seating (not sure if that's normal for a Saturday afternoon or not), and free WiFi. The employees were kind, courteous, and very efficient and quick on getting the coffee out. The mango cheesecake had a fantastic texture and was everything I wanted it to be but was severely lacking on the mango flavor. The iced mocha was refreshing and light with the mocha flavor perfectly balanced. After reading everyone else's reviews I definitely want to try some of their signature drinks next! read more
Reserva is a great coffee shop, with multiple locations sprinkled around McAllen. You can always come here to grab a quality coffee drink, relax with friends, and even study at a table. The atmosphere is beautiful, clean, and calming. I'm happy to say that they are also well staffed. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the cashier, baristas, and kitchen staff. They work well together, and I received my drinks very quickly. This is a place where you want to become a regular. read more

Funny story. While on a small tour with my band we were looking for a coffee shop. Reserva popped up as being a place near where we were. I checked the reviews and saw a 1 star review from a dude named "Joseph T" that was hands down one of the most petty and entitled pieces of yelp review fiction i have ever had the displeasure (or pleasure if laughs was the intended response) of stumbling across. Dude was mad that he got in his car and drove somewhere on "national coffee day" as if driving on that day somehow upped the already low stakes of this soon to be coffee transaction. He was mad that at the drive through window the barista handed him his coffee with, GASP, the lid on so he was was unable to see the latte art they make using the milk. THE AUDACITY! Because ya know.... mcdonalds had a pretty good experience handing somebody too hot of a coffee at the drive through. Yeah that ended well for both parties. So this dude is mad they didnt hand him his HOT coffee WITHOUT a lid on NATIONAL COFFEE DAY!! So he couldn't see the milk art on his coffee and therefore was unable to take a photo for his Instagram on NATIONAL COFFEE DAY... I mean seriously, the nerve, the lack on consideration, the pure caffinated abuse they dealt this poor man at the drive through. Anyways this review was so ridiculous and petty that me and my band had to go see for ourselves the evil coffee shop in question and guess what? They were awesome. Clean. Good service. And sure enough our lattes were topped with cool coffee art cus we didn't GO THROUGH THE DRIVE THROUGH. Thank you Joseph T for your childish review leading us to one of the best coffee places we have stumbled across. I hope the pain of your experience still haunts you to this day. This place is awesome and 10/10 recommend. read more

Great coffee is served here, but what will make me always come back is the attitude of the staff. The baristas pulled from their tip jar to buy a homeless man a pastry and a cup of coffee. It touched my heart and will always remember that gesture of kindness. Most coffee shops run off people like this man, but they had compassion for him. read more

A really great find in RGV. The decor inside is well-done and very chic. Lots of seating, including stools, table and chairs and cushioned benches. The staff was busy baking and very friendly. I ordered a bacon Gouda baguette and couldn't believe how much Gouda they put on it - tons! You could see the thick melted slices and it tasted delicious. The bread was so fresh. I had the seasonal pumpkin latte and it was made to the perfect hot temperature and tasted great - not at all syrupy or sugary like some tend to be. I watched them making cakes from the bar seating in the back and those also looked delicious. The staff was wearing masks and gloves while preparing food. I recommend stopping here. read more
Reserva is a great place to hang out with friends and great photo opps! For studying not so much because it does get pretty loud in there haha! Their coffee options are great! A good list! Their drinks are delicious! I think it's been two times where my drink was watery and lacking flavor, but the other 5 times that I have gone have been great! I see their opening a new location soon! I think this coffee shop is severely underrated! Was in town for a wedding and needed some coffee to start my day. To my surprise not only does this place serve coffee, but they do offer small breakfast items, pastries, and desserts. It's a cute little place in a plaza and has lots of seating. Friendly and welcoming staff. And I like the configuration of the interior. When I visited this shop, I ordered an avocado toast with a poach egg and the wildflower hot latte. The only reason I gave this a 4/5 is the amount of plastic consumption. I was hoping for dine in that I would be served on a plate and ceramic cup. But the toast was placed in a plastic container and coffee was in a paper cup. It appears that everyone was served in plastic containers. I'm in support of places that uses compostable items, but don't let this review deter you from visiting! Only just being honest. But other than that the coffee is phenomenal here. I'd definitely come here again. read more

Delicious waffle with fresh berries! I didn't even use the syrup. It had a nice sweet crunch when biting in. I went two days in a row while in town. My oat milk latte was made to perfection. The girls working both days were friendly. There is ample sitting room with nice music playing. Loved the vibe. read more

Other than the fancy chairs and fancy ceiling, there was nothing that stood out or blew me away. I guess I'm more laid back that all that upscale was too extra for me. I ordered a Dark Chocolate Frap, it was pretty decent. Good flavors, not too potent just enough to go around. Nothing spectacular as most people made it seem. It really comes down to personal taste when choosing a coffee shop as your frequent stop, this wasn't it for me. If you live in the east side of Mission I'd highly recommend you go to Jitters instead, not worth the trip here. If you want a fancy coffee shop to impress your friends, bring them here. If you want something good and less expensive go somewhere else. read more
