Absolutely loved this place! It was the first place we found nearby after leaving the McAllen airport. It ended up being the cutest place and I loved the aesthetics and vibes. I find this place being great for dates, studying, business meetings because it had so much room and seating. The gal at the counter was so nice and told us the drip coffee would take a moment and I got a cortado. The presentation for mine was nothing I've seen before. I had a small dish of pistachios and a small glass of soda water. It was new to me but I did enjoy having that little snack along with my cortado. My friend's cappuccino was perfect as well. Was thrown off by the iPad ordering system but this was a solid cup of coffee. Best on this trip.

I was helped out today but J G and S (I'm bad at remembering names but those were their initials) and left very glad!! I got a little apple pie and and iced matcha tonic (which they normally dont do but if ur nice to them they can b nice to you) and both were to my high standards. Ordered a iced vanilla latte and mango coconut matcha. Both drinks were good, the espresso was a bit bitter but I enjoyed the taste. The matcha flavor came through very well and the drink wasn't too sweet. I appreciate how they hand whisk their matcha. However, the quality of the pastries was not good at all. We got the espresso chocolate brownie and it was extremely dry, tastes like it's been in the fridge for a bit, perhaps multiple days old. The flavor was also subpar, no espresso notes and the icing on top was extremely sugary and tasted like artificial vanilla. One of my pet peeves with coffee shops is when they serve bad pastries, at that point don't serve it at all if it's not going to match up with the quality of your other products. read more

By far some of the best coffee I've had in the RGV from pour overs, cold brews, cappuccinos, and lattes. With a lot of space and great music to accompany it, it's the perfect place to grab a coffee with a friend or get some work done. The speed of service depends on the amount of people around, but don't let that be a bad thing. This place provides a sense of calm and makes you want to slow down and enjoy your coffee. I'm usually more of a dark roast coffee drinker but I wanted to try something new and different and Solum did not disappoint. For a light roast, it was pretty flavorful. It could've had a little more coffee to milk ratio for me, but as they explained to me when ordering (they provided a very helpful explanation of their drinks) they pull ristretto shots with 1.5 ounces of coffee to 10.5-11 ounces of milk for their lattes. I decided to order a vanilla caramel latte and it was good. Full disclaimer: if you like to "taste" the richness of the coffee bean, you may be disappointed as it's a very light coffee flavor. It's a clean place with an architectural digest magazine ambiance, sleek and simple, no frills just coffee. Simple menu as well but with attention to detail. Overall, I think I'd like to try a few more of their drinks to get a better sense of whether it's a "on a special occasion" place or my "new regular" place for caffeination. read more
