I used to take my 2000 BMW 323i to Reseda Engine anytime I had an issue with the car like misfire cylinder, changing brakes, troubleshooting electrical issues and etc. I was told about this place from a friend that took his cars there and never had an issue. Danny is the owner of the shop and he was really friendly to me and took great care of my car when I took it there. After I got rid of my BMW and got a brand new Honda, I just take my car to the dealership now because it's under warranty. But my dad takes his Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Matrix there when he has issues. Like 2 days ago when he had to replace his starter, Danny give the best quote out of all the places I check and the starter comes with a lifetime warranty so my dad did the service there. It took 2 days to complete because the original starter they got wasn't the right one for the car due to it being a special truck model. But he was able to swap it out and the trunk was able to start again. I believe it's cash only, not sure if he finally accept credit cards so be aware of that. read more

Only gave 1 star because i had to rate this company! This is a father/son ran company who is all in to take your money!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. MY husband took his car here for a transmission repair and some how his driver door ends up with a big dent. My Husband mentions their dirty prints directly over the dent and they reply "oh you have to set up an appointment for us to take a look at this" and proceeds to get loud with my Husband in front of our 8yr old son. Completely DISRESPECTFUL! In addition to the door having a dent, the air vents inside of the car were hanging out as well! Less than 2 weeks ago we took my father in law's car here for engine work and the broke the door lock! All in all look around and make this a very last resort and expect the least! I have brought my jeep to Danny's December 2017, He told me I needed to rebuild, I paid $2200+ and rented cars after cars I brought my jeep back more than 6 (six)times each time they had to keep doing a rebuilt and I had to keep renting a car! I cannot get it over 3000 miles without bringing it back to Danny, yes I have lots of patience. Danny son told me after the fifth rebuilt they got another person working on their engines resurfacing which end up being a lie Danny had me go Drive around the corner to find out how my engine is doing, the same place my engine was before, I end up spending a lot more other things were going wrong I just got my jeep back three weeks ago I had an oil leak I took it back and sure enough the clamp for the oil hose was not tighten when they put my engine back. I feel my engine is still not right! I'm gonna take it to professional and have them do a report Just giving you an update I've been having issues with my exhaust manifold I took my Jeep to Simi Valley jeep they told me whoever put my engine back together which was Reseda engines did not put my exhaust manifold back together correctly my whole exhaust system is Fucked up . I am continue finding issues that Reseda Engine screwed up on on my car. There's an update on September 1, 2020 after one year and a half I am finding out that Reseda Engine really did a bad job on my engine I just found out that I'm gonna have to replace the whole engine the mechanic at jeep crown Ventura and the jeep dealership in Simi Valley both have told me that Reseda Engine should've rebuilt the whole engine instead of the top end which Danny recommended just to do the top he was very wrong now I have to get a whole new engine all I could tell you stay away And I found out there's been others who have been suing the garage and I'm thinking about it after what I went through Sept 4 2020 It's just gets getting better , everything that this garage touched failed within two years , Reseda engine replace my Catalytic converter. Very nice people but I didn't have the greatest experience i took my car in to replace the engine which I was told would take about 2 weeks well it ended up taking over 4 weeks because they didn't get the correct engine at first so it cost me 2 extra weeks of paying for a rental then when I finally got home I kept smelling oil and looked in the back seat and saw they left parts in my back seat and it wasn't on plastic so it just stained my car very unprofessional to not put plastic down but I think it shouldn't of been in the back seat in the first place read more

My girlfriend came in for a high pressure hose replacement on her power steering on a 95 Camry. Not only did they charge her 200$ which is way over priced for the job they broke her door handle and didn't want to fix it. Then yells at her for her getting mad that they broke her car. I bought a new car and needed it to be checked out because i had noticed a few things so i took it to Reseda Engines and they said that the skid plate was missing and it had a leaking valve cover. I took the car back to the dealership and put in a skid plate and fixed the leaky valve. If it were not for the people over at Reseda Engines i would have never known, great service! read more

Be careful with these guys take your car some other place trust me they don't know what they are doing.They used used parts form other engine that they had in there shop. Took it to them ask to put in a engine they did such a bed job its crazy. My car was in there back in forth for about six mouths.THEY SUPPOSEDLY REBUILD MY HEADS BEACUSE THEY GIVE ME A BAD ENGINE AFTER ABOUT 2500 THOUSAND MILES OVER HEATED STOP RUNNINNG. when I looked at the spark plug 2 different brands like are you jk used parts not even going to talk about motor mounts and and bolt missing they did the brakes and forgot to resurface the disks tried to brake hard one time almost crashed. took it back and he asked one the guys that work there if they did it and he said we change the pads again are you jking you see that need to be resurfaced and you don't do it wow. there is so much more took it to other place he showed me what they done to the car I was so mad going to take them to small claims. read more

The owner is nice BUT, The shop is good for ONLY Engine Swaps and Transmission Swaps, which is an elementary job for most cars They don't torque down any of the bolts, and thats bad news. Not using a torque wrench when replacing cart parts is a NO NO. If you get the most basic service from his shop, which are brakes and rotors, be prepared for a brake pad swap and thats it...they are not going to check to see what else might be going on with the brakes. If you just want an Engine swap or Transmission swap, then just know thats pretty much what you are going to get...Prices are OK for a reason You get what you pay for. The guys working for him are Not Certified, so trouble shooting is not their game. They are not skilled to diagnose. Basically, if you know whats wrong with your car and you tell him to replace that specific part, he will do it for a fair price. read more

It seems that people either hate, or love Danny. I'm of the latter crowd. I've been going to Reseda Engines for over 20 years. There isn't a more reasonable, honest or nicer guy. Understand what their main business is: Remove and replace engines and transmissions. They will try to help in other areas, but they can do what they do best in record time. The replacements are usually low mileage (35k miles) used Japanese parts. Don't blame them if there is a problem with the replacement, just bring it back within the warranty, and they will make it right. read more
