They provide free parking, the process is so streamlined, you are out in no time and the workers there are skilled. NO PAIN! Plus free t shirts and treats after! Hospitals are in chronic need of blood so really, it's everyone's duty to donate!

You have to have certain numbers for heart rate blood pressure and iron in your blood which they do all tests before you can donate. I've given whole blood here but what I usually donate is blood platelets it's more needed according to staff and you can donate I believe every week or so unlike whole blood which takes longer although I forget exact length of time. Once you read and sign forms have those tests done you're ready to go. They have these curved padded chairs which are very comfortable there's TV's u can control and if u get cold blankets. Like I said I do Platelets and it usually takes about an hour and a half I stay on long enough to make Platelets for 2 people I guess I'm fortunate for some reason i have lots of Platelets I think single donations are about an hour but everyone's different. Although I don't like needles I donate because I know it'll help someone and I'm not rich to donate enough money to make a difference but I do have blood and I always feel better after donating it's a good feeling. They validate parking for you so parking is free

Located behind the…read morebuilding that houses the NEMC emergency room facility, the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center popped into my life just this past year. I've had a few auditions there and they allowed us to use one of their spaces for a performance. The program, formerly called the Quincy School Community Council, moved into its current digs in 2005. The center itself has adult education classes (ESL, job search skills, etc.), childcare, summer (ages 5 - 18) and after school programs, as well as some random Saturday classes (I've seen listings for craft, dance, etc). They help out more than 4,000 people each year with their programs. Dang. Of course they're always looking for volunteers. If you want to help out.. or even teach a class (I know there are some artsy Yelpers out there).. check out their website for more details.

This place is a gem!…read more I wandered in here after a satisfying Chinatown meal and ended up in a friendly conversation with the woman at the front desk. They provide essential services to mainly Chinese immigrants like child care and even offer yoga and bhangra dance. I didn't do any of their programs, but the place was in good order, the staff was friendly and if my grandmother lived in Boston I would most definitely recommend she visit to meet others and take music lessons, piano anyone? A quality establishment that provides a meaningful service to it's community = I am a fan.

They wouldn't allow me to elevate my feet for medical reasons on a chair because common sense did not prevail. A volunteer upstairs allowed me to elevate legs and a young woman Deseree attempted to pull chair out from underneath me when I said I need a minute as I had bilateral knee replacements as well. No common sense. She said if you have a bag (lol) put.your feet on that. Moments like that diminish the good that is accomplished here.

There are just so many good things to say about this place that I'm not sure where to start…read more First, it is not a "shelter" in the typical sense of the word, and the staff and guests do not refer to it as a "shelter". They consider themselves a "community", and act as such. There are NO lines for anything at the WLP. The women are served their meals at their tables by volunteers, and their materials are bussed for them once they are done, unless they choose to self-bus. The food. Oh heavens! WLP prides itself on serving nourishing, FRESH food. Each meal will have all nutritional requirements met, and there is always a veggie option. We're not talking canned goods or sandwiches here, folks. No, this is chopped and diced fresh veggies, prime cut meats, the finest ingredients. If you're a good cook and after you've volunteered a few times, they are happy to let you get in the kitchen and help whip up stuff. The resident chef there, Gina, is wonderfully creative in the kitchen (and very nice), and from time to time, other professional chefs from local restaurants come in to put together a meal. The WLP isn't jsut a food place, although that's the highlight of the day. It also provides the women with full time advocacy support to help with finding housing, food, or other services. There is a computer room/resource room that the ladies may use. There is also a nap room where women can go to get sometimes some much needed rest, and also a quiet room for just some peace, solitude, and maybe reading or reflecting. Women are also able to get various toiletries and clothing that they may need. They may do their laundry and take showers. The Program Manager, Heather (also very, very nice and competent) has done a great job of making sure that there are interesting activities for guests if they choose to participate: yoga, painting, field trips, knitting, etc. Since the WLP is run as a "community", the staff are INCREDIBLY patient with the women, and if a guest is being disorderly or breaking a rule, she is not immediately tossed out, but is counseled and given more than one opportunity to redeem herself by correcting her behavior. Throwing someone out is a last option at the WLP. WLP treats its volunteers as the valuable commodity we are. We are appreciated, thanked, and made to feel a part of the "team". Added Perk: They also have really incredible volunteer thank you events! I enjoy volunteering here. I learn something new and meet new people each time I go. I don't have a lot of spare time to volunteer, but when I do, the WLP gets me all the time, every time. It's important to know that this place could not be so great without us- the community at large supporting it through donations, volunteering, contributions, etc. The staff, Regina, Linda, Joanna, Lauren, Linnie, and Cheryl are terrific- go meet them! This is just a wonderful, wonderful place. You will not leave here without your heart being touched in some way.

I was talking to my husband and he figured it out that they called his cell but his phone flagged as potential spam so he never listened to the message. I called and they wouldn't wave the fee. Just said they have a service that makes the calls and they don't know what to say. Clearly it's a silly mix up and there were mistakes on both sides so I would expect some understanding. But nope so I won't be back.

(Not sure I'll do marrow again) I have always had a good experience (barring one phlebotomist who had a hard time with my big veins). Their schedulers (Nicolle and Cal) are extremely nice and always treat me well with their text and emails. Their new facility is nicely appointed and the parking is easy. I do wish the paperwork could be streamlined, but it is mostly the same each time, with a few added pages for each program. They always do full vitals: weight, BP, temp, and take a quick blood sample for crit levels. The process is easy and the payment immediately goes on a refillable debit card which you can use for transactions at stores or ATMs. If you lose your card, they can issue you another one. I don't work for them and am not paid for this review. I would not have written it, except there was a poor review I could not ignore.

I have no problem telling a judge to reject their claims of harassment, given that they don't check ID, and even at the Mass Eye & Ear THAT is mandated. They must be going out of business, so the standards sunk.

The rapid response was very very appreciated. During the entire procedure Dr. Kai emphasized that my comfort was one of her biggest concerns. This is truly refreshing, especially when you feel like an experience (root canal) is going to be just the opposite. I read a previous review that mentioned the word kindness, I think this describes the experience perfectly. They truly care, to the point where the doctor personally called me later that day to ensure that I was doing okay. While I hope I don't have to go back, if I do I know I'm in great hands and will not look anywhere else.
