Mission Statement
The Wish Project's mission is to help families in need establish long-term residency by providing furniture, household goods, clothing, and shoes; to provide critical immediate assistance to homeless families. and victims of fire or disaster; and to support the community. We serve with a passionate team of board members, volunteers, community partners, and staff.
History
Established in 2005.
The Wish Project is a critical resource for furniture, household goods and baby needs serving these families in need. In any given week, there are as many as 100 families with children, sleeping on the floor in largely unfurnished apartments in our own community. Without The Wish Project, families have very few affordable options. Household furnishings for a family is a burden that too often families can not carry. So they simply go without. With support from The Wish Project they are able to manage their expenses, reducing the likelihood of becoming homeless again.
Meet the Manager: David F.
The Wish Project, a nonprofit that offers baby goods, household items and furniture to families in need, executive director is David Fitzgerald, former director of program operations for the Spirit of Adventure Council, Boy Scouts of America, board Chairwoman Lorraine Ilsley, said in a statement. "His wealth of experience and demonstrated leadership in serving those of the Merrimack Valley will help the Wish Project move forward in its mission." Fitzgerald, who brings more than a decade of nonprofit experience, will oversee an organization that serves more than 35,000 individuals in the Merrimack Valley each year. "It's an honor to join the Wish Project -- the work of this organization is needed more now than ever," Fitzgerald said in a statement.
