One problem, I have a blood issue that makes many of the *donate to other people* places unwilling to allow me to donate. So I googled and found this place. My blood will not go to other human beings. The pros are that they give you a lot of free medical tests. You have an evaluation (for which they pay you) and get a lot of things tested. But even on the day of donation they test your blood for iron and take blood pressure etc. They pay you in cash on the day you donate. I also feel pretty safe in their hands as they seem to take blood well and are pretty expert at it. Cons for me is that I do think the rate they pay for the blood needs to go up and it is not in a great location I think to easily get people there. I live about an hour away by car. I would recommend it.

I donate whole blood and the whole process takes an hour from checking in to finish. I recommend completing the Rapidpass online to save some time. Once you check in you wait in the waiting area for your name to be called. Then they take you into a back room and ask some of the same questions as the Rapidpass. Next, they do a fingerstick to check your hemoglobin and get a full set of vitals (pulse, blood pressure, temperature). After donating blood, they offer you snacks and sometimes a free shirt. The only downside is that parking can be tough to find. I recommend coming on a Sunday when it's less busy and to get the free meter parking.

They provide free parking, the process is so streamlined, you are out in no time and the workers there are skilled. NO PAIN! Plus free t shirts and treats after! You have to have certain numbers for heart rate blood pressure and iron in your blood which they do all tests before you can donate. I've given whole blood here but what I usually donate is blood platelets it's more needed according to staff and you can donate I believe every week or so unlike whole blood which takes longer although I forget exact length of time. Once you read and sign forms have those tests done you're ready to go. They have these curved padded chairs which are very comfortable there's TV's u can control and if u get cold blankets. Like I said I do Platelets and it usually takes about an hour and a half I stay on long enough to make Platelets for 2 people I guess I'm fortunate for some reason i have lots of Platelets I think single donations are about an hour but everyone's different. Although I don't like needles I donate because I know it'll help someone and I'm not rich to donate enough money to make a difference but I do have blood and I always feel better after donating it's a good feeling.
