I brought a flagship Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra to I Fix 4 U on South First Street in Garland for a standard screen replacement. The phone was fully operational upon check-in--meaning the screen was cracked, but the network, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth hardware were functioning perfectly. The moment the technician handed the phone back to me, the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth hardware were completely dead (the internal toggles are physically grayed out and fried). On this specific device, these components sit on the exact same integrated circuit on the main logic board. This means the technician either caused severe pry damage, used excessive heat/force during disassembly, or triggered a catastrophic electrostatic discharge (ESD) that destroyed the motherboard. When firmly confronted with this clear technician error, the shop refused all accountability. The technician attempted to use basic, unprovable technical jargon to blame it on "previous drops." Worse, when a professional demand was made for them to cover the cost to repair the motherboard damage they caused under their care, the owner resorted to hostile threats, claiming they would "warn people about me" using their security cameras. If their cameras actually work, they will show me checking in a device with fully working internet and leaving with damaged property. I Fix 4 U charges cheap labor because they lack the proper training, safety protocols, and board-level skills required to handle expensive modern smartphones. If they break your $1,200 device, they will lie to your face, blame you, and threaten you instead of honoring basic consumer rights. Avoid this shop at all costs. It is not worth the time or pain. It is a much better decision to pay extra elsewhere for a professional job.
