I am SO UPSET with Allied Waste. I hate them! They are out there to make money on their customers. They love to charge for extra garbage! When you call them, they will come up with every excuse: the lid was partially open; extra bag by your garbage can; your can wights more then it supposed to etc.You are in the hands of the man who picks your garbage. The customer service only believes him. I am the only one who takes the garbage can out, i know i don't have extra and my lid is all the way closed but it doesn't matter when you call them. I have never had such horrible service in my entire life. Danielle, in particular, is truly a horrible customer service representative. She does not listen to your issue she only seeks to refute it. I manage a business and our pickup is routinely missed. When calling Allied for the 3rd time in two months I repeatedly get the same poor service and poor response. Oh your pick up got missed? Well you didn't report it in time. Or drivers change their routes all the time. Or they did pick it up. ETC..ETC... HOW ABOUT YOU LISTEN TO WHAT I AM SAYING AND FIND OUT WHY OUR PICK UP IS ROUTINELY MISSED INSTEAD OF ARGUING WITH ME!!!!!!!. If i could give it less than one star I would. The contract for Allied Waste Services with the City of Renton ends on June 30, 2019. The contract with the City of Kent ends in April 2018. If you are interested in starting a petition to the City Councils of Renton and Kent to request that these contracts not be renewed, please post a review on this site. If there is enough interest, I will set up something to initiate that petition drive. There are other service providers. Waste Management and Clean Scape. I received services previously under Waste Management and was very pleased. Of course they have their problems too but they pale in comparison to Allied. They were responsive to customer concerns and they would send a truck to pick up missed garbage. Called to schedule removal of an old grill. Was assured they would be out within the week. That was 2 weeks ago! After repeated calls, being left on terminal hold and not once returning my messages (lost count on those!), I am giving up. Each time I got a real person they promised to get a truck right out, and of course this never happened. I've had problems with them "forgetting to come" as well as changing their published recycle days. When I call I am reassured the schedule is "in the mail". Guess what?! If I could find another service I would. My only recourse is to blast them on Yelp. This company is terrible! The worst at customer service and they do not follow up. Beware! Allied Waste is the worst garbage and recycling collector ever! They bought new trucks with a special lift to hoist the yard waste bins up and dump them. They dropped ours down too hard and broke the wheel, rendering it unusable, since it can't roll. This was 7 weeks ago, and we have called them 3 times! Still no replacement yard waste bin. Now, there is another broken one on our block. I guess they didn't train the drivers on using the new lift trucks. Unfortunately, they are a utility and have a monopoly. read more

Um, have been on hold to talk to them for 27 minutes now, all I get is the same little "happy" positive messages over and over again. Today was our garbage day, imagine my surprise when I went to put my can away and it was gone!!!!!!! Bill is always paid.....not a problem there......now I have no customer service and no garbage can. I pay my bill expecting service, this is NOT service. read more

I've tried for several months to coordinate my payments to Republic's billing but without success. They tell me I'm ahead on payments, and then behind on payments. I have a bank that's supposed to pay these bills as they come due, but not with Republic. Why not? read more

Terrible recycling service. Skipped pick-up three times out of last five. Call center is not local. Given hollow promises about next day pick-up. And the next day... After several weeks and a full dumpster, finally caught the regular trash truck driver and had him dump it. So sorry I paid for the whole year in advance. read more

Very happy with the service they provide. Their customer service department was easy to get through to and handled my issue promptly.

They are terrible and a case study as to why competition is so important even in the yard waste business. When the only compliment they can get is a smile and a wave from the driver you know there is a problem. Their website says to provide a pile of branches 4 feet in diameter. The video illustrates this. There was no listing that it had to be bundled so we piled it neatly 4 feet in diameter. They refused the branches because the pile was not bundled by a piece of twine. If you look at their website no listing of bundled required as affirmed by customer service. They said they send out a local paper broacher once per year so it was our fault even though their website isn't accurate to Kent WA. So they want to charge us more for early pickup and for the bundle itself since outside of the can. Kind of expected as their customer is City of Kent and not the residence of Kent. I challenge you to GOOGLE Republic waste you wont see a local website or a link to a local website anywhere. If there was a half star I would give it. I'm convinced the few reviews above 1 star are probably employees. Look at all other reviews. read more

Review for Republic Services in Kent (not the trash truck men, but the customer service center) Not even wanting to rate 1 star on this but not given the option to rate ZERO! So this week being Christmas trash was going to be a day late. We normally have pickup on Monday but that was changed to Tuesday, understandably so. Then on Tuesday due to increment weather conditions we watched them slide on our hill a little. Again understandable that they for safety reasons couldn't pick up. Now one thing is that in my neighborhood there is a stray cat and rat problem that the city just can't seem to fix so we do not leave our trash outside until pickup day. That being said, I called Republic Services Wednesday morning wondering when they were coming back to pick up that weeks trash. I was informed by the agent that: "We will be there either today or at the VERY latest tomorrow". Which would be Thursday. Well, today is Friday and guess what no pickup, no phone call, no email, no text nothing letting me know anything different than what I was told on the phone. So I call again. Now the problem is that the rats and cats have gotten into my trash and its everywhere which I have to clean up. I talk to a young girl who argues with me about what I was told on the phone on Wednesday and than later retracted and stated what she said because it was in my account. After 10 minutes of getting nowhere and getting ZERO customer service I ask for a supervisor, I'm then told he's busy, he's on the phone, he's not in office, and so on. So I say I'll wait. 15 minutes of being on hold later Mr. Jared Wade picks up. I informed him that my lawyer was on the line recording the call and he proceeds to do nothing but make excuse after excuse after excuse as to why they are in no way at fault for what has happened with my pickup and what I was told by their representative. His bosses name is Lisa Rall and I'm sure she was there listening since Mr. Wade kept obviously covering the phone to ask what to say. So now I have trash EVERYWHERE because I was told I was getting, not maybe, not hopefully but that I was absolutely getting pick up on Wednesday or Thursday and Republic Services does not care about the consumer or the fact that we have to pay huge prices for bad service and that they can treat everyone like they don't matter because they are the only option in Kent. So now that I will be posting this everywhere I'd love to hear what other horror stories or upset customers have to say. Class action suit anyone?? read more

One star is a big compliment. They have the worst customer service agents you will ever have the misfortune of coming in to contact with. It's always a different story, reason, excuse and I've even been basically told I'm lying when I've had to call more than once on an issue they continued to mishandle and screw up. The drivers do their job, for the most part, but if you ever have to call their customer service (the local Kent office) prepare for a headache. Look, they know as Kent residents we have no other options. Kent's contract is with them for garbage service. So unless we want to truck it to the dump ourselves, they can charge us whatever they want (the fees are getting out of control. The actual garbage service isn't bad cost wise, its the other fees that you incur.) treat the people that call in however they want, say one thing then do another, and basically just not do their job and we just have to deal with it. I've already been on the phone with them twice today and I'm sure it won't be the last time. *sigh* They are, really, really, really the worst and I feel for anyone else that has to deal with them in the future. read more
