We have always had superior service from Bestway but I wanted to say thanks to Ruben & Jonathan for always providing great service but last week they went above & beyond. My husband forgot to put the FULL trashcan out & I called the office to see if they had already come by my house. The woman that answered was great & radioed Ruben & Jonathan who went back to our house in less than 5 minutes. The kicker is I wasn't home but my elderly mother was & they were very helpful showing her how to operate the garage door & they hauled the can out/back for her & made sure she could close the garage door for her safety. Alpine waste serves my townhome HOA in the Lakewood area. In the past I have requested a special pickup of large items, which they did for me at a reasonable cost. This is no longer the case. I called today to request a special pickup. Not only was the hold time unforgivably long, the cost quoted to me was OUTRAGEOUS. When I asked why the price had gone up so much, the agent said it was because of COVID. I pressed for a more complete reason, and the agent said she didn't know--they had stopped doing special pick-ups at the start of the pandemic, and when they started doing it again, they were given a new price sheet with much higher prices. Have used for many years and used to be great. Since merging with GFL, especially over the last month or so, service has been problematic. Weekly recyclables pickup has been missed a couple times. Calling the company provides no results and eventually GFL shows up another week. No longer recommend this company; our neighborhood is experiencing this problem. read more

I have been a Bestway residential garbage service customer in Colorado Springs for 13 years. This week, they missed my Wed. pickup. No big deal. I left the trash out, thinking that they were just behind, maybe because Monday was a Federal Holiday (Veterans Day). On Friday morning, the trash was still not picked up, and a bear had tipped it over and scattered it. We cleaned it up and I called Bestway to have them come pick up the cans. Still not that big of a deal. When I called, the customer service rep. said that she wasn't sure why they missed my pickup, but that I could just put twice as much trash out next week. I explained that, with both my trash and recycling cans full to the top, and having just had a bear tip the trash over this morning, waiting 5 more days for pickup wasn't a good option for me. When I told her this, she said I shouldn't have waited so long (2 days) to call them. Here I thought I was being patient by not calling to complain right away, holiday and all. To her, apparently it gave her an excuse to blame me for the situation that was 100% Bestway's fault and just say too bad, now you have to wait for your next scheduled pickup in 5 days. No mention of even a refund because they skipped a week or anything. I hung up, disgusted with her. I thought it over for a while, and decided that there is no reason to stay with a trash company that still won't pick up my trash even though they missed a pickup because THEY screwed up. After telling this next customer service rep. that I wanted to cancel due to bad customer service, she said that they would send a truck out today. Funny how that option only appeared after I said I wanted to cancel. I hate corporate customer service like this. Such a horrible way to run a company, but way too common. At this point, I was so annoyed with Bestway, that I just cancelled anyway. I didn't care if another trash service would cost more or not, I'm just done with Bestway for good. Then, needing new service, the first company I looked at (Springs Waste) was MUCH cheaper anyway! If the first Bestway CSR had offered to pick up my trash today, I would have just moved on satisfied. I would have kept overpaying for Bestway's trash service. Thank you, Bestway customer service, for being frustratingly bad enough that you made me cancel! Although I knew your prices had risen more than once, I never thought about bothering to switch until now. Looks like I should have. I'm going to be paying over $70 per year less for the same service. Go with Bestway if you want to overpay and still get bad customer service. On a positive note, the guys in the trucks were always great. Too bad the rest of the company isn't. read more

Bestway used to be awesome until the recent change to GFL, not picking up my recycle as scheduled. Pickup day is Tuesday, waited until 8:30PM not picked up, contacted customer service each day Wed, Thursday, Friday, promised it was going to be picked up but never happened. This is the second time in the past month. My recycle is overflowing and my bill is always paid on time so I expect my service to happen on time. I can understand if it only happened once, and if they made up for it, but didn't seem important to this company now at all. After nearly 10 years of service with Bestway in Manitou Springs, i am no longer their customer. Here is why. I recently moved back to the area, COS, and naturally chose Bestway. Upon setting up service, I paid 3 months in advance. Now, for two weeks, garbage/recycling was not picked up and yesterday I learned why. The bestway drivers yelled over my fence "pay your bill" and drove by. I immediately called Bestway. My first bill cycle was 2 weeks past due. I was shocked to learn this as I never received an email or a bill in the mail. But I was more shocked by the careless attitude of the drivers and the customer service rep. They discovered that they had a typo in my email address. But no apology, no "i am sorry for your experience". just a comment that they don't provide service to those who don't pay. I switched service providers today. And when I called Bestway to cancel my service, same complacent attitude from a different customer service rep. Making excuses and not one word of empathy. Wow Update - i just received a call from Diana, Manager of Customer Service, with a sincere apology for my experience. It meant a lot. They are addressing the email problem as well as coaching their staff on customer-focused relations. read more

My tenant set them up at our rental. When the tenant left they also left a ton of stuff. They didnt pickup 2 of 4 weeks during the cleanout. We called to advise is a large pickup and paid for it. They didn't pick up and when I called they said the driver missed it but they wouldn't send anyone out. We ended up taking it to the dump ourselves. We called to have the cans picked up and it took 5 weeks to pick up. Use anyone else in town. read more

This company is terrible. I would give them a 0-star rating if I could. They have missed picking up our trash or recyclables too many times, without remedying it by doing a follow-up pick-up. As far as they're concerned, we just have to wait until our normal pick-up the following week, which means living with a full and smelly container for a week and storing another week's worth of trash somewhere. This is completely unacceptable and if I performed my job this way, I would be fired. I would fire Alpine if I could, but unfortunately we are part of an HOA that switched from Waste Management, apparently to save money. Waste Management was great and rarely missed a pick-up, and if they ever did, they always picked it up the next day. You get what you pay for, and in my opinion, Alpine is definitely NOT worth any savings. read more

Once I chased them down to tell them they had missed my house. They circled back, drove slowly by my house - AND KEPT ON DRIVING without picking up my trash . Alpine used to be a great company. Now they can't be counted on to show up on our scheduled day for trash pick-up. Our HOA has recycling pick up every other week---the Alpine employee(s) frequently misses picking up ALL of the recycling. When they are called regarding recycling being missed, they try to blame it on you; "GPS shows the truck was in your area"--yeah...they picked up all my neighbors' recycling, but left mine! I was told that they would charge me to send out a truck to pick up my missed recycling. Horrible customer service! read more

We had Best Way Disposal as our trash company for a year. The collectors were great - courteous, prompt, and left the trash cans neatly back on the curb. There were a couple of times that I forgot to set the trash/recycle bins out but these guys still retrieved them both for me. Other times, I had to sit bags or boxes out beside the bins and they picked the additional trash up for me. We were even given upgraded trash bins after six months of service. You can sign up for paperless billing and pay your account (three-month bill) online. The company offers several different types of additional services as well. Needless to say, if I have the opportunity to use Best Way Disposal as my trash company again, I definitely will. read more

I got Bestway for trash service because I have a long driveway, so I really don't want to move the cans out back and forth, especially when it snows. I got their upgraded 'rollout' service so they do that for me. The other companies don't even offer that. They are always on time and come early in the morning. Some neighbors use a different provider which often doesn't even come until the afternoon -ugh! I know a pay a little more, but you get what you pay for! I'm happy with Bestway! read more

So far I have been with this company a little over six months. In that time there have been several service failures, on their part. I have sent payment for service in via check and both times somehow my check has been lost in the "shuffle." Both checks were sent out nearly half a week before the due date, both times my trash service has been "suspended" without prior notification. To add to the frustration, the entire Month of September While I was away taking care of a family emergency my house sitter took out the trash on Wednesday night. Each week Best way failed to pick it up. I came home the first week of October and assumed that there must have been a mistake on the day that I told her to take the trash out so I took it out Wednesday night and have left it there all week. Still no Trash pick up! Then to my surprise I get a phone call from Best way telling me my account is delinquent and service has been suspended. I of course asked if it had also been suspended for the entire month of September. The associate on the phone said not to their knowledge and that if the trash was not picked up that it was my responsibility to notify them. (While being away for a family emergency.)( also note that this is not the first time that my trash has not been picked up) I was informed that there might be an additional fee for the Extra trash accumulated though it was scheduled to be picked up. The place that the trash is stored the rest of the week is up along side the house completely visible from the street. So, For all of you that the trash man goes the extra mile, that is obviously not the case for this route. After I paid the lady over the phone, to ensure that at the very least the Mountain of garbage careening out of the receptacles at the end of my drive would be picked up, and asked to speak to the manager I was put on hold for ten minutes just to have the line disconnect. The most incompetent bunch of degenerates to ever exist. Our ally was under construction so the just stopped picking up trash. Then once it opened back up they told me to call city of golden and explain to them why their 8 ft wide truck couldn't fit up my 20ft wide alley. It has been over 3 months that I have been paying for service, and they have only picked up 2 times in 3 months. I have called 4 times a week and begged for my trash to be picked up. Every time they promise that it will happen and every week I have to take another truckload to the dump. They admitted that the only reason they haven't picked it up is because their driver is incompetent. Also someone should replace Simone and Jennifer because they cant figure out how to communicate on the phone. They make empty promises and have horrible customer service. We were with another disposal company that went out of business with no notice to its customers. I called around to get a new company and Bestway had good prices and could pick up my garbage on a day that works for me. They even came by to pick up the stuff I had before they got paid. Their workers have knocked on my door when I've forgotten to put the trash out. In addition, they offer SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING for just $5 a month. Every week I fill my 54 gallon wheeled can (provided by Bestway) with recyclables and put my 1-2 little bags of garbage in another can. For years My neighbor had very good service. So I switched to Bestway. Their service went from 10+ to a 20- in about a month later. I have very little trash. Two plastic trash bags tied together so all is needed to bend over and throw this small amount of trash in the back of their truck! (So much work there) Or I put a bag out (ie dog food bag) still it is one pick up without bending over this time. I did have to leave once but the bag was in plain sight and would have required about 6 step,, but there again it just had to be put in the back of their truck. so they have past me up THREE TIMES AND REALLY FOR NO REASON. Now they claim they will be out Monday and give me one week credit, because I pay my bill on time they do not pick up a customers trash just take their money. read more

So we WERE with Bestway when we bought our house but since they've been bought by another company I would not recommend them. They used to bring up our cans once they emptied them but they no longer do this. Once the new company took over, they cancelled our autopay with no notice, expecting the customer to rebuild their database. I had no idea that this happened until I received a phone call stating that my bill was overdue. They informed me that they sent a notice out. I asked my neighbor who was also a Bestway customer if she had gotten a notice but she did not either. I checked my email, including my junk folder and look, no email from them. Apparently I was supposed to jump through hoops to make their change over easy for them, instead of them hiring someone to transfer the data. I wouldn't think that you give your customers only one notice that things are changing, especially if you haven't gotten any feedback from them after sending said notice. How about an email or two, since that was how I got all my other bills from you. Or better yet, call, it's not that hard. They also increased their rates with no notice (maybe to make up the payroll for the tech guy they hired....oops, never mind). My guess is that they are more concerned about their business with the construction industry and couldn't care less about the residential customers. Overall I'm not happy with the way they have gone downhill and advise any potential customer to steer clear. read more

This is the best trash company we've ever done business with. We used to be in a large HOA and there our association used 2 other trash companies before changing to Best Way. Best Way remained their chosen trash service for many years, and may still. Now, as single family home owners, we are with Best way again and couldn't be happier. We could set a clock by their arrival every Thursday morning in our neighborhood. Even when we've been late to get our can to the curb (as much as half an hour), these guys have come back and emptied our can. They're quick and thorough. We've never had to leave our trash waiting curbside in the sun all day long, prone to people putting their trash in our can (that's happened before!). I highly recommend Best Way if you're looking for a consistent, reliable and affordable disposal company. read more

What was a great company with great service is quickly declining, and it all seems to be a result of the GFL merger. I've been with Bestway for over 5 years, but in the last several months, the trash containers are not properly being emptied (trash is left in them (and it's loose, not stuck)) because the drivers are moving too fast and not checking to ensure bins are empty. Additionally, last week we had weather issues on Monday. They pulled the drivers for safety (understandable) but failed to notify customers (except on a Facebook post; they seem to think everyone is on FB). They indicated all trash and recycling would be collected Tuesday of that week. Tuesday came and went without trash service (recycling was collected) and, once someone finally responded to a FB post, they indicated trash would have to wait until the following week as they were behind. There was no offer to compensate customers, only that they'd pick up double the following week. It's now the following week and, at 7:10p, they have failed to pickup trash yet again (now two weeks). They said they were running behind (per a FB messenger note which seems to be the way they are now communicating). The truck was in the area, but hasn't been seen in over an 90 minutes and can not be found. Communication from them is not customer focused, and they seem to be treating all of this as no big deal. When you live in bear/raccoon area, where HOA and ordinances enforce trash be inside, it is problematic to not have it collected after two weeks, and worse, the company just doesn't seem to care. read more

The Friday before labor day, our trash was not picked up. When I called the customer service line after a very long wait I was finally told there had been an emergency with our driver and another driver was supposed to finish the route, well that didn't happen because our trash was still sitting where we put it the night before. I was told by customer service that they would come get the trash on Monday which was not going to work for us as it was a holiday and we had previous plans so we scheduled for Tuesday pick up, well they never showed up that day either. I have called and been on hold for in excess of 20 minutes several times trying to get the problem resolved. I have even sent in a written complaint on the website and NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED BACK OR EMAILED ME BACK. I understand emergenies happen however to schedule something and never follow through or even return a phone call is PISS PORE CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

Today I forgot to put my bins all the way to the curb and accidentally left them in front of the garage and Best Way came and emptied them for me anyway. Unfortunately, we forget to take our trash out every now and then and alot of the other trash services around town would just pass by our house if the trash isn't on the curb. Every time we forget to put our trash out, they run up to the side of our house to get it! I have been with Bestway Disposal since 2006, when I bought a house in Falcon. Pickup service has been outstanding, office support mediocre. Recently they switched to GFL. Pickup service remains good and the truck personnel are great. However their bills have increased twice in two billing cycles. I called three times to query the bills and it took a week for my call to returned. I was given a lame excuse for the bill increase & I felt as the office had heard this many times and just wanted me to go away. I have since terminated my account, they said they would pickup the garbage container on the 31st. Well now it is February and I am still looking at their container in my driveway. I called again and left a message to remind them of the termination. Will wait and see how long it takes, but the office communications of late that I have had with GFL, tells me the office couldn't care less. This company turned from of the "Best" in town, to one of the worst, in my opinion. read more

Every once in a while you run into a business that has clearly put an emphasis on customer service and quality. In an industry that is known for jacking up your rates and leaving your empty cans rolling down the street best way has blown me away. After picking up my trash they regularly return my empty cans to the back of my house where I store them. These guys are the worst disposal drivers in my neighborhood. If I drove like this I'd have my license suspended. I'm surprised they haven't killed anyone yet. They pull past my alley & back down it at unbelievable speeds, they back down streets, around blind turns, & on hills. A FedEx truck almost collided with a trash truck just now because of their backwards driving. I've lived in this neighborhood for a year now & watch Springs Waste, Waste Mgmt. & these guys every week. Best Way is by far the worst way!!! I've seen them hit branches & spill trash in my alley that they don't care about. They drive like crap, don't hire them if you have an option!! I didn't have a problem with them for 3 years, until I told them I'd be moving and when my last day would be. They picked up my cans a week early, and when I called to ask why, the girl on the phone said she'd help me out, put me on hold for a very long time and then hung up on me. It was Friday afternoon before closing, so I guess instead of actually helping me before they closed, it was easier for her to just NOT help me, and not get us cans to use for the last week before our move. Now I have to find a different place to take a weeks worth of trash- because you know, I don't have anything else going on, like a move across the country with 6 kids! If we ever move back, I will not be using them again. Update: The manager was adamant about fixing the problem, and sent another can. If this ever happens to you, contact the manager directly, and don't deal with the person who hangs up on you. He actually cares about his business, and doesn't want his employees behaving like this.
