DO NOT GO HERE. This is a fraud of a business. All they do is lie and give you the run-around. Avoid at all costs! Very unprofessional and illegitimate. They stole my phone and still have it as I'm writing this.
I originally went to Repair Junkies the weekend before last because my phone was stuck in a boot loop. When I got there, I met an older guy, who said it would be $45 to diagnose the phone, but the $45 would come off the price of the repair. I agree. He took it in and told me the proximity sensor needed to be replaced. A couple hours later I picked up my phone and he says the repair is $70, I ask 'So, its $70-$45?' He says no, it's $70 on top of the $45. Confusing, but OK. I left just happy that my phone was working again.
Last weekend, a week after my first visit, my phone shuts off again and starts going back into the boot loop. I take my phone back to the shop on Monday after work around 6 PM to see if they can take another look at it. The only person at the shop is this 16-year-old looking kid with a bowl cut. He says he's going to update my phone - I tell him it won't update, and it won't restore, and I have been trying to do that for hours. He tells me to come back in 30 minutes, before they close. I come back; he hasn't done anything with the phone besides try to restart it. Waste of time. He asks me if it is my primary phone, I tell him yes and he tells me I can take it with me, and they can fix it another day. I say to just keep the phone until tomorrow, because I can't get there any earlier in the day for them to work on it after I get off work. He takes the phone and I ask him to EMAIL ME when it is ready or with an update since I don't have a way to be contacted while they have my phone and I leave my email with him in their system. Tuesday rolls around, I have no emails and I hear nothing from this place. I walk back to the shop after work and the 16-year-old kid is still the only one around- says the phone isn't ready, but they know it's the motherboard and I won't have to pay for it because it wasn't ready when he said it would be. He said he couldn't email me because he didn't have access to the company email... What?? So, they keep my phone again Tuesday night, and it's supposed to be ready Wednesday afternoon. My boyfriend calls them Wednesday morning because they obviously aren't proactive about communication and they ask my boyfriend WHY they have my phone. My boyfriend tells them it's because they said the night before the motherboard needed work. They then call back a few hours later and say yeah, it's the motherboard and it'll be $90 because they have to solder something delicate. Fine. Continue to reach out Wednesday - it won't be done until the evening, so they say they will deliver it to us. Wednesday evening rolls around, we reach out and the phone is still not ready - it will be Thursday, and they will deliver. Thursday rolls around. They cannot deliver because there is only one person working. Not even after hours can they deliver. My boyfriend and the guy are now texting so that we don't have to keep calling the shop just to find out what is going on because they don't ever reach out to us. They then tell us they can't deliver the phone until we go into the store to pay them - A. You said it would be free, B. If we went into the store to pay you, we wouldn't need it delivered, would we? At this point I have walked 10 miles to and from this shop between the Monday and Tuesday trips for the phone to still be broken. My boyfriend says he will pay over the phone as soon as the phone is confirmed ready and fixed. Thursday, they said they won't deliver because they are short-staffed so it would have to be Friday. In the text messages they also mention that we brought our phone in twice for the same proximity sensor - we are really confused at this point. You told us the second time it was the motherboard, but you keep going back to the proximity sensor. Does anyone in this business communicate? Also, why would we pay you to fix the same issue twice? Then Friday comes around and the phone is ready, they will deliver after hours. We hear nothing all day. Then 5 hours later, and 2 hours before their posted closing time, we get a 'One minute away' text, and we're told we wasted their time because they tried to deliver and we weren't available. Communication at this business sucks and I don't think they ever actually came to deliver the phone, they just said they did. They then said we were the one's 'playing games.' This store sucks, don't ever come here. They still have my phone, and they're frauds. 6 days without a phone for nothing. read more
