I found this outlet in July while I was on vacation - unbelievable prices on really nice clothing!…read moreI cannot wait to go back probably next year. As to the review by "Jerome G" on 8/4/2018, I know EXACTLY what dressing rooms he was describing, and I would have complained about him standing outside the girlfriend's dressing room as well! He could have easily stood outside on the sales floor and still have been close enough to hear her call him to come and see, while she stood in the "open hallway". Actually it is more like a large walk-in closet - with no door - but with 3 or 4 curtained dressing rooms on each side, and a mirror on the end wall so you could step out of the dressing room and see how you looked. No man belongs standing inside there! I would have complained as well.

Each time we come to Wells , my girlfriend and I loved to shop at this outlet. That is until today!…read moreMy girlfriend was trying a few outfits in an "open" dressing room (meaning no doors facing the rest of the store. Just curtains to each cubicle leading to an open hallway which anyone walking by could see down). I was approached by a female store employee asking me if I was shopping with anyone else. Telling me to move away from the entrance of the dressing rooms due to a female shopper not being at ease with my being there! Keep in mind this outlet has other fitting rooms with actual doors for total privacy. I told her I was with my girlfriend who was trying things on and wanting my opinion. I moved down the aisle away from where I had been standing but that wasn't good enough. She then told me I should go visit the men's department. This kind of action from store employee is why most people hate shopping brick & mortar retails and end up shopping online! I myself manage a retail store and know how hard it is to attract and keep loyal customers! At the end they apologized to my girlfriend but not to me! Couples shopping together BE AWARE!!!!!

They had a ton of stuff I don't usually see at my local store, which made wandering the aisles kind of fun. The layout was clean and organized, and the store seemed well-stocked in almost every department. However, we've pleasantly been surprised by some of our clothing purchases and other, random necessities. They have an underrated selection of furniture, primarily couches, chairs, and tables, and I would easily by a few items for my finished basement if I lived closer. If you're a bargain, hunter, and looking for a place that can be a rewarding experience, you should consider a visit to the store.

Their shoe selection wasn't the greatest. I didn't go to the hardware department as I didn't need anything in there. The beauty product selection was skimpy. I've been to the Marden's in Biddeford (twice) & the one in Waterville and out of all 3 I have to say my favorite one is the Biddeford location. A lot of the stuff in here seemed like a lot of junk. No good bag/purse selection, clothes weren't that great & overpriced for a place like this. Their ladies room wasn't up to par either. Don't forget to bring your own bag as they don't have any. The cashier was nice but only after I made conversation with her, she didn't seem to happy to be working there. I only walked out with a couple of things. I definitely wouldn't want to come to this location again & would tell my Mom "let's go to the one in Biddeford!"

Okay, We all can agree that the holidays are depressing enough. The only cheerful thing about…read moreChristmas is the cheery and upbeat, nostalgic Christmas tunes, and the beautiful string lights that fill your brain to the brim with that feel good chemical we all look for. There isn't really much to be happy for on Christmas unless you actually have plenty of money left over after buying presents, or actually will be with family members who love and care for you. The dollar tree in wells was as depressing as it comes. The lightning came from dim fluorescent hang lights and the supplies seemed a bit barren since the last time I visited before Halloween. They did not play that wonderful music and as far as my observational skills could see, not one person spoke to another, and every one had a solemn look on their face as they were not feeling that nostalgic feeling because the music was not playing, and the cashiers were not talkative or smiling. It reminded of the typical mood at a Casino, zombies only hanging by a thread of hope. With trump being a prick while in office for four long years, followed by several wildfires, protesting in the streets, earthquakes, and of course that virus that doesn't seem to be leaving anytime soon, the least they could have done was liven up that grey and mournful atmosphere with some joyful and festive music. When I checked out, I was carrying a small synthetic Charlie brown Christmas tree with some red door bells, garland, a pack of 20 gold colored and polished aluminum bells attached to a golden polyester thread, a red LED battery powered string of lights, and because I'm just on the cusp of middle class, a small case of needle and thread from the impulse buy section in front of the register. I made sure to buy a coke from the freezer case up front, and that was when I noticed how depressing the atmosphere was. I silently made a remark about it, in which the lady in front of us in line gave us a nod and mumbled a response through her mask. Halloween was amazing and festive beyond my expectations, but Christmas in dollar general was a resounding "bah humbug!" from the staff who refused to be festive enough to turn an already depressing holiday into something more tolerable. I mean I get it! Usually that music is on the entire shift, on repeat, until the cashiers are driven mad. But please don't take away the only thing that makes shopping more tolerable. Especially during a pandemic. I may return to the store location to buy some more ornaments for my Charlie brown Christmas tree. But I'll think twice about actually entering the store. I think three stars will probably be justified. There merchandise is very good quality, for a very cheap and affordable price. My prized possession from that store is a silicon scrubby I use to run my hands over when I'm anxious or distressed. I do have hopes for that store but they need to liven up the atmosphere. TLDR: store was depressing, posting a review in hopes that they would at least play music over the store speakers.
